Great video intelligent guy explaining properly and simply how to do a job properly
Thank you for this excellent educational video. I learned a great deal.
Nice to see a young fella with high standards- truly skilled.
Thank you very much! It's greatly appreciated 🙌⚒️
Wow you sir are a gem we still need people like you to continue cobblestone laying.
Thank you very much!! 🙌☺️⚒️
blokes a legend, never thought of slurry primer, never would have used plasticiser, never would would have used granite dust, never thought of semi dry mix either, project went down a treat for a DIY’r following this guidance. it feels rock hard and the stones locked in tight. The only thing i done different was a dry grout which i packed in. cheers
Thank you very much! Glad you found the video helpful! 🙌⚒️💯
Really good video and a natural presenter with great skills.
Thank you very much! 🙌⚒️ glad you enjoyed it!
Videos with less music and you speaking more are better thanks for the information !
Cheers, brother!! Your explanation was clear with no drama!! Just how it should be. I love cobbles!! And thinking of putting down some in the front garden next year. Really helpful tips. Thank you very much 😊
Beautiful work, well done.
🙌🙌🙌 thanks George. This was superb, great pace and enough detail for a newb to stone 🤩
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed!! 🙌⚒☺

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed! 🙌⚒️ let us know if you have any questions 👌
You beautiful dude❤ this answered so many questions. Thank you
Very informative George thanks for showing us this👍
My pleasure! Glad you found it useful! 👌⚒☺
Great video! Very helpful and a great start to thinking about a little home project. From across the pond, peace!
Brilliant video George, love it
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed 🙌⚒☺
I’m in a cold winter environment and laying cobbles in concrete sets very high drainage requirements to avoid frost heaving. I find that a foundation of compressed mixed gravel with a setting layer of 0-4 mm gives both firmness, drainage and sufficient flexibility with respect to frost.
loving the tips videos George!
Thank you very much! Will keep them coming! 🙌⚒👌
Thanks for this informative tutorial, I used it to lay my first four rows of cobbles in my tiny little garden. It took me a bit time to get the mix to right consistency (not using cement mixer). I just wanted to ask you, can that slurry flow point be used for sand stone pieces, I mean not cobbles, stone 600x300. Many thanks, learned great deal, cheers, Denin.
Hi great video . Can you please give more detail on installing the base for a driveway in cold climate winter areas .
Another top notch vid of the highest order👌👍👌 But where is the main man matipo Greg?
Thank you very much! He's just behind the camera 👌⚒📽
Love your work! Is this technique strong enough to drive on?
Thank you! Yep definately! This was for a driveway 👌⚒️
Like this style of vid mate, very nice work dnt suppose your coming to Essex anytime soon 🤣👍
Thank you very much mate! 🙌⚒Not any time soon unfortunately..
What depth sub base would you recommend on a driveway?
Thanks
Great video by the way 👍
Thank you very much! 🙌⚒️
Do I need to add sbr to the mortar mix? And how much water roughly for the mix to get the consistency right?
Do you recommend a putting down layer of gravel beneath the 4:1 mix? Seeing some places recommended that for better drainage but not sure if really needed. Thanks!
I'd recomend a sub-base prior to the 4:1 mix to avoid subsidence, but no need for a gravel layer.. once its been pointed it will be impermeable anyway 👌💯
Excellent tutorial… Respect… 9:43
Thank you very much mate! 🙌⚒️☺️
Good video mate same process i do works a treat. Im in manchester but you need a pair of hands let me know 😁⚒️
Cheers brotha! Can't beat a good cobble.. 👌 ⚒
Thank you, much appreciated.
Brilliant.. thanks!!!
Bellísimo trabajo 👊 💯 🧱👌🏻👏💪
Muchas gracias! 🙌⚒☺
Hi mate. Love the vid. What are the cobbles called? I've looked everywhere online and can't seem to find the nice colour mix you've got. Many thanks.
Thank you! We mixed three different blends of cobbles for this project 👌⚒️
Have a look for Raj riven sandstone setts. They're often called cobbles, their actual name is setts, so try googling both. The black ones are more likely limestone or something.
Brilliant video thanks, just thinking about a cobble driveway, would the one you done on the vid be strong enough for a car or would it need to be different?
Thank you! 🙌 this was for a driveway, had two cars parked on here, no problem 👌
@@Matipolandscaping cheers, appreciate that. Looks great.
Is this process the same for a driveway. I want to do maybe 3 or 4 rows as a perimeter with gravel in the middle would this hold up to driving on.
Yes 100% this video was for a driveway👌⚒️
Fantastic. Thanks for the reply. Great video by the way !
Top work
Cheers mate!! 🙌⚒️
What do you think about laying on a dry mix?
Love cobbles too their fun too lay
Too fun mate! 🙌⚒
Hi guys, I'm setting my own little thing up to start a business early next year landscaping. Do any if you have any tips for pricing jobs etc as that's the only thing I'm going to struggle on.
Jay 👍
Start on smaller jobs/ projects.. so the risk is minimal.. mainly just how many days you think it will take, plus a few extra for weather, etc.. plus materials with your mark up percentage.. present everything clearly.. stick to your figures, don't lower price to meet budgets 👌
@@Matipolandscaping Thanks for taking the time to reply to me, and for the tips, its very much appreciated 👍
@@Jayjamie No worries mate 👍👍⚒️
What’s the labour cost per square meter for laying sandstone setts?
How do you keep weeds from growing out from the grout areas?
Weeds will not grow through flowpoint.. its absolutely bomb proof.. one of the many reasons we use it 👌⚒️
@@Matipolandscaping"flowpoint?"
Check the next video 👍
Are you cobbling over old crazy paving?
Brilliant
Thank you very much!! ☺️🙌⚒️
Thank you ❤️
What do you do for sub base please?
We use a compacted MOT sub-base.. compacted in layers, between 100 and 200mm depending of type of traffic (pedestrian or vehicle) 👌⚒️
How do you power wash this type of floor?
Could a car run on this? Thank you.
Could you please show how you cut cobblestone?
We will try to record a video for you 👍⚒️
can somebody help please?
im about to lay these for a customer, is £40 per m2 a fair price to lay theses with flow point grout? the ground will be prepped already,, so just laying.....area cardiff thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Personally, I'd say that's way too cheap.. triple what you charge for slabbing 👌 super time consuming to lay cobbles correctly..
@@Matipolandscaping thank buddy
whats an average amount to lay per day buddy? thanks@@Matipolandscaping
Exactly how we lay them 😁
Great minds n all that 🙌⚒☺
These are square
I thought cobbles were more rounded
Cobbles are uncut stones.
Someone needs to learn the difference between a cobble and a sett before taking to the screen.....
it is not COBBLES. COBBLES are round those are call Setts
