Im a brit living in abroad, I drive a ram 1500 rebel but when I come back to the UK I wanted an idea of what the pickup market is looking like. I enjoyed your review so thanks and I have subscribed. I look forward to more reviews of offroad/big vehicles!

You actually shouldn't use the 4H on dry tarmac, unless you want to blow out your rear diff-lock (not the same as permanent 4x4 on SUVs, It's a 2WD car most of the time). I changed from a Focus to a Ranger ;-)

Sensible down to earth review. Have just ordered a ranger over what was originally my first choice, d max. Much smoother gearbox. Found the isuzu 6 speed automatic a bit dim witted

As suspected, the rear plastic load liner is a non standard Ford liner. As such, there is no ability to be able to fit the Ford rubber tailgate seals which are required if fitting the roller shutter at a later date. The UK is one of the few countries where the roller shutter is not fitted as standard on the Wildtrak straight out of the factory which I believe is to do with the UKs BIK commercial vehicle tax concessions not being met if the roller shutter comes as standard, as this pulls the payload under the magic 1000kg. The official Ford payload of this Wildtrak if the roller was fitted at the factory is in fact 954kg and would obviously fail the 1000kg BIK tax concession. Therefore, as the roller shutter isn't fitted at the factory for UK models, they also don't fit the tailgate rubber seal in order to allow any water in the rear tub to drain out much easier. However, once a roller shutter is fitted, you then want to keep the water out which includes now also fitting the tailgate seal which is a push fit attachment in to the Ford load liner running down both sides and along the bottom. The top seal is already attached to the underside of the roller shutter. Unfortunately, the design of this non standard load liner doesn't appear to provide the option to run the rubber seal down either side. By the looks of the stiff function of that roller shutter, it would also appear to require some silicone lubricating spray down each side of the tracks as it certainly shouldn't be that tight. Also noted that the roller pulling strap appears to have strangely been clipped on to the tailgate locking mechanism loop which must be surely foaling the correct operation of the lock.

Hopefully the raptor will come at a later stage this was more based for the commercial side of Ranger vehicles :)
