Apple needed the cash and to move beyond that feud and MS wanted to dominate the school and business market and make sure they had a competitor around so regulators didn’t go after monopoly accusations again. No matter what you think of Steve Jobs, when it came to his return at Apple it was amazing. They went from weeks away from Bankruptcy to a completely vertical trajectory that would eventually climb all the way to battling for the biggest public company in the world.
Microsoft never owned Nokia, it just bought the smartphone division of Nokia and had the rights to use the Nokia brand in their phones. Nokia has always been its own business as it is now. It’s quite a personal matter for me since I’m from Finland :D

How many times did you get the error message on Win95 "Keyboard not found, press F1 to continue" ? xD Back in 1997 and 1998 I remember seeing this and thinking "Well if you can't find it what am I supposed to press?" Back then you could not unplug and plug the keyboard (without risk of damages ofc).. That was my favorite "feature" of Win95 when I was a little kid... Than 98 was far more stable but I miss the old school power supplies "It is safe to turn of your computer" - How many of you remember that message? xD

*Microsoft is huge.* Their best move was to accept the Open Source idea. The converted to the device + software as a service or subscription. Selling expensive software on CDs is a bit harder today. Software as a service or subscription is a lot more simple, when all the upgrades happen on the server, and the use has no need to do anything for the upgrade or security. Let's hope Microsoft will respect and honor their commitment to the Open Source model and competing projects. Android apps would make Microsoft even better, if they had some innovation in that.
Open source is great for advancing humanity since you can crowdsource from everyone to build whatever software you want, but a shit business model for making money. You'll never turn a profit and is solely dependent on good will/donations.

Microsoft is now a 1 trillion dollar company in 2020. All I have to say is, well done Microsoft for being the world's second largest company in the world and bringing so many useful and great products to the table such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and of course, Xbox.

One inaccuracy in a 16mn video is quite a good job if you ask me. Microsoft doesn't technically own Nokia, they did a "strategic partnership" just before Nokia was about to go bankrupt. I guess you can say they owned them one way or another :)
