A life lived listening to Bob Dylan. The next generation will never experience what I've had. Dylan in the 70'sand 80's for me, so many memories of loves found and lost. I wouldn't change a thing
Dylan really is the master, there is no one as good as him and never will be. I've been a fan for 58 years & seen him several times in the U K &since emigrating 0ver here too.He really is Simply the Best,we're so lucky to have him, his music still means so much to me.Christine Palmer,The Gold Coast ,Australia.
This is beyond brilliant - he takes a simple solo acoustic song he wrote and recorded 40 years prior and turns it into this live masterpiece. Words can not describe this guys talent. Superb.
For Bob to visit Woody and sing to him when his life was slipping away in hospital was gold. To show such respect to a man he admired immensely speaks volumes...we can take a leaf out of his book!
Me too; I'm 74. Saw him for the first time in concert in 1965; since then I've counted 108 shows of his I've been fortunate enough to attend. I can't imagine my life without his music in it. Saw him also in March 2024 in Orlando; he is still over the top wonderful.
oh God.......how wonderful to hear you doing one from your first album. I am so lucky to be the age where I started the journey with you around to see us through it. Bless you Bob ....keep them toones coming my old friend.
Ha ha you know, and with brothers in arm without hide from frustration, stole from clasic music from 19 century and put in 20 century eternaly form of freedom world..
Thrilled to see this pop up tonight! I love it for its simplicity, honesty and 'catchiness'...I wish someone would write/perform a similar 'Song To Bob' while we still share this world with him. It'd need to be a Special person who sincerely admires, respects and totally loves him!
LOVE BD's Western style black suit here. The Great American Folk Singer Woody Guthrie, who became a young Bob Dylan's mentor was a huge American Folk Singer & Voice of the down trodden in t depression era of t 30's & '40's. He was huge Hero & Influence on Bob in his musical formative years. Bob left home & went t NY around 1960 t find Woody who was Hospitalized & quite I'll. Bobby visited him daily & wrote him this song. His reverence for his Ailing & Aging music hero speaks Volumns about t heart & character of t true BD. I feel Woody bestowed t his young protoge his 'mantal' & Misical ' Calling' to BD..very similarly to the way that Elijah bestowd his mantel t the young Elisha. Very Beautiful & Very Destined 4 Sure.
What a discovery - what a pleasure, for ears and eyes - what a gentle walz - how guitar picking and body movements cooperate... intertwine! My Hohner is happy.. in G. Thanks for uploading, Jianl! PS, I guess that these guys were at their top of musicality around the year 2000. Foolish me missed alll this, back then. Too busy elswhere.. a.o. shooting on the Isle of White... a few miles away from frnst the splendid concert @ Porthsmouth. Thank God voor bootleg recordings. I tried it once @ a Lou Reed performance. My stereo walkman was confiscated right away (and returned after the show pppffft ;-)
