Just an idea but....iDom, instead of just showing replays, you should break down your play sessions in more depth and fully articulate why you feel the way you do about the mechanics of this game.
Nah even as an Ed player I know that move dumb as hell, there’s a reason why Ed uses it so damn much, it’s basically his Jinrai Kick. Since they’re probably gonna nerf it next patch, I hope they don’t make it slower, but instead make it push back less on block, since even on block it pushes them hella far back.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding but I don’t see why the Ed would approach when he wins the whiff punish war . Walking up & putting himself in a position to get checked wouldn’t be smart . Then, Manon can’t do anything in Zone 4/5 due to Ed’s zoning . The stale mate here looks like it’s created by the MU . Not the game mechanics
@ I think it comes down to people not realizing we are learning a completely different game . While the fundamentals of SF stay the same, the games from one version to the next are very different . This game is so damn complicated that I don’t think there’s a single MU that’s fully fleshed out . That’s why I think so many tier lists look so different from one another too
I've been leveling up other characters lately and I feel this. There are so many players who just walk all the way back, have one interaction, switch sides, and walk all the way back. It's especially bad with Flickering Eds.
Bro your comment section is always half hatred and half love ;-;. I'm on the love side man can't wait to see you continue cooking down the line. Chef iDom sir 🙏
I haven’t played street fighter since sf2 and now I just went online and played ranked. I can’t standard modern button mashers. Makes it impossible to learn anything and I see why idom hates drive rush, and drive impact. Street fighter doesn’t feel like street fighter anymore
I think this game needs two things to make it better. Perfect Parry only works on special moves, and every heavy special loses to DI. I think most special moves will need a buff to compensate for that, but overall this is the most clear cut way to improve the game without balancing multiple characters at once extensively. All you have to do really is buff special moves so they are faster and maybe have plus frames, but now they have the caveat of being punished by a player who's really paying attention. Maybe increase the perfect Parry timing by one or two frames as well if you make the special moves faster
I don't understand why he's saying this like it's a new problem. That's all street fighters. sf3 had parry, sfv had grey health, sf6 is drive meter management for dealing with zoning or "stalemates" as he calls it. That's just a 1v1 2d fighter problem in general.
its because in other games there are loads of factors execution being one of them. sf6 is just so baby anyone can DI in the corner on burnout and hit near enough max damage. the 'checkmate' is so obvious even at lower levels its so boring. also in other games like sf4 'checkmates' were very rare if where not talking about chip kills. no chip outside of burnout is whole rant in itself
No this is a Real thing you do as ed when you play against a character with no fireball. (Marisa, Zangeif, Manon.) Its his job to approach and not get hit as he tries to close the distance.
The problem is Manon doesn't have a neutral skip option to deal with Ed's ranged options, and he's never going to play in her range if he can manage to, so it really is an uphill battle.
@damizan8331 As an Ed player, I feel extra bad for Manon because it's by far my easiest matchup and that's because I get to do whatever I want if I'm not in the corner.
Its totally fine to have complaints about the game, but good lord its hard to watch/want to watch new videos when every single one is full of complaints about why the game sucks in apparently every way
The whole rant at 13:45 and onwards feels like he literally just now noticed he’s playing street fighter, like he’s saying “this game” a lot, but grapplers have always struggled with fireballs, everything he’s describing is just street fighter 101. He needs to stop playing these trash characters so he can actually enjoy the game. Hell he’d probably love Ed since he himself was a poison main, he was doing this same bs to people last game lol
Poison was his second pick his main was a grappler in sfv as well. Also if the only way you can enjoy a game is by playing a top tier that's a bad balanced game.
@ every single game ever made that has multiple options has options that are better than others, if you’re voluntarily choosing one of the worst possible options in the game and complaining about how the game as a whole is bad, then you’re missing the point entirely. He’s complaining that a grappler has the problems that grapplers usually have, either pick up a secondary that makes your matchups better, or play another game and pick some garbage in that game and see that it’s not a street fighter issue, it’s a general gaming issue
@@SquidwardProfilePic Agreed. Basically his complaint isn't legitimate. Since the dawn of fgs, there's different archetypes and it's probably the most basic knowledge that X-archetype does well against Y-archetype. Grapplers dont deal well with zoners, to complain about it is like complaining about why does water type beat fire type? Because that's the design. To mitigate it you're suppose to counter it. You don't have to if you dont want to, you can be a character loyalist and specialist, but if that's the methodology you're choosing you gotta stick to it and not complain about factors that are irrelevant. You dont ever see other grapplers main complain about zoners like Itabashit or Stormkubo, because they understand like you should, that it comes with the territory if you're gonna pick grapplers, you're gonna have a hard time with projectiles, so you deal with it.
@@SquidwardProfilePic having options better than others is different than "this character doesn't even get to play the same game" and Manon is the only grappler with the grappler problem who doesn't have other strengths to compensate. Seriously if you're coming to a balance discussion with "choose another character" why even bother touching the keyboard. It's like commenting on a review to go play another game, bruh we are talking about this game not all games
@@hhrriisstt9367 if every character played the same game this would be the most boring fighting game ever made, different characters are supposed to play differently, if you’re volunteering to play a character that’s playing a worse version of the game than everybody else and complaining about the whole game and not just your trash character, than you’re a complete failure. And this was never a character balance discussion, idom says the whole game is trash because he’s playing trash characters, and I’m saying that it doesn’t matter what game you’re playing, if you pick some trash and the game feels like trash even tho u know their are better options, then the game isn’t the problem

Lets see here capcom keeps making the same problem with each mew system they make. In this game the hitboxes, hurtboxes still dont make sense and its blazebluified heavy. The current battle director guiltygearified this game really harshly and granting a penalty to meter is also not a smart choice tbh. I bet someones doing a full 1hr video and then a video series breaking this stuff down already.
I understand nothing, but I'm conviced this game gives enough tools to certain characters to behave as a damn robot. I don't care about their archetype. This is not fun, it's really silly.
Eh. You can talk about game design all you want, but all that matters is what actually happens when two players play the game. Do we really see a lot of stalemate situations in SF6? No not really. Patience is a thing. Focus is a thing. Fatigue is a thing. Humans are playing the game.
A fighting game that inherently guarantees that every character has good options against every other character would be a pretty boring fighting game. The ones that fit that criterion deserve to be labeled "top tier"-the rest should be considered one of at least two characters the player has in their pocket.
Just an idea but....iDom, instead of just showing replays, you should break down your play sessions in more depth and fully articulate why you feel the way you do about the mechanics of this game.
