    Late to the party, but if you see this - what exhaust/mod? Any drone in cabin? I've got a 2007 and have hit a wall with exhaust - would like to change it up from stock but too many options and no one around with another one to compare to. Cheers mate.

    At 2:10 you're in 2x4, but Prado is permanent 4x4.
    What mod did you do for this?

    Thank you Mitchell, I love this video... can you tell us why you did the rear diff swap, what it cost and what was involved? Thanks

    • @mitchellrobinson9810
      @mitchellrobinson9810  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I appreciate it!
      The 150 series rear diff is bigger, has a braced housing so it’s a lot stronger and has a factory e-locker in it
      I paid $1250 for the whole rear diff assembly and it bolts straight in (using 150 series brake rotors)
      Easy enough to do and well worth the upgrade for hard 4wding

    • @helenanderson4410
      @helenanderson4410 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mitchellrobinson9810 Thanks Mitchell. Cheaper than an airlocker and solves the weak 120 diff problem.
      How do you find the factory e-locker? I heard it is fussy and can be tricky to engage.
      What has your experience been and how have you got it wired up?

    • @henryhalliday2374
      @henryhalliday2374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is such a good idea. If I wanted to do this is there anything else I should be aware of? Or was it literally just a bolt on replacement with the new rotors?

    Awesome man, wondering what offset your rims are to fit the 34's and have you had any rubbing at all ? I'm hoping to fit 33.8 under my 120 with just a 2'' suspension lift , will do a 1'' body lift if needed..

    • @mitchellrobinson9810
      @mitchellrobinson9810  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, mines done with a 2” lift but I needed to cut a lot, big body mount chop, corners of the front guards, fold over the pinch weld and take out all the guard liners, they fit pretty comfy there now, the rears though still scrub a lot so I chopped a fair bit of the plastics, you’ll probably pull the flares off every time you drive it but I’m building a rear bar at the moment with heaps of clearance,
      It is manageable though

    • @volcanic5187
      @volcanic5187 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mitchellrobinson9810 Shit!! maybe I'll just go for 33'' haa!! Would you recommend to do a body lift first for potentially less modifying and do you think a 0 or a negative offset would be best ??

      Hey mate, I matched the transfer to the gearbox (found an a750f Hilux transfer and it fit)
      Then you need to shorten the front shaft and extend the rear, will vary depending what gearbox / transfer combo you have
      And yeah they do rub hahah, I chopped a lot out and they don’t anymore

      The main mods I’ve done is an 8.2” rear axle upgrade from a 150 series with factory e-locker, Hilux transfer case, 34’s, back down to a 2” lift but still the same travel as my old 4.5” and then heaps of little stuff like shocks and Bullbar etc. it’s a pretty basic car though

      Cheers legend, I’ve done a big body mount chop, folded over the pinch weld, removed guard liners, and cut the corners of the guards for the front and they fit pretty good, the rear scrubbed everywhere so I’ve had to roll the wheel arch and I’m building a rear bar now with high clearance but it is doable with the plastic flares, they’ll just scrub
