I've made a hat for my mother using your pattern..added a crochet slipped stitch border in another color which looks great. I do plan on lining it. Thanks a bunch.
This is pretty but the video is really confusing. Like when you do the first flap do you cut the yarn to do the second one? If not how long is the yarn in between. Sorry I'm a beginner...
why do we cut the yarn after the earflaps instead of just casting on the stitches needed that we add after cutting the yarn anyway? .. guess I'm confused about that part. But I'm going to keep at this and see how it turns out. I really wanted to make a hat like this and since I had the right yarn and needle size ( that never happens) think it's worth the try.
could you do the loop cast-on instead of cutting the yarn after finishing flaps, when you are casting on the stitches for the hat portion? I'm going to follow exactly as you say in your video just because but I'm wondering that for next time since I hate weaving in ends.
Made it but it turned out a lil too small bcs I used a size 4 yarn so im giving it to my little sisters. Love the pattern tho. Would adding more stitches in the part after the ear flap part make the hat bigger? I mean like in the head part yk
It will make the hat smaller. If you use bigger needles than you normally would for whatever yarn size you want to use, it might not make the hat much smaller, but the stitches will be looser. You can also just cast on more stitches.
Once you have 72 stitches total, you just keep knitting like normal! No adding more stitches, you just knit the stitches that already there for 5 inches.
The yarn and needles are linked in the description! I used chunky yarn, any yarn size 5 or 6 works. The needles I used in the video were small, but I recommend using size 8 needles.
I realize you said ur not going into depth about certain details for this but not in view of camera, dark colored yarn not easy to see, why am I here? This is not bueno.
I am sorry for the bad quality of the video. I recently bought equipment, and I am still figuring out how to use it. And I agree that it was a mistake to use dark colored yarn. I thought you liked pain lol

Wire!! Cool trick. Thanks for the whole tutorial. Good work.

You need to explain the size needle you used the size yarn that has been used and maybe attach a pattern this was not useful for a beginner
Hi if I wanted to knitt this for a baby how many do I cast on for the ear flaps and the other amount of stitches cast on
The wire looks hard to use. A small crochet hook will work if you have one. You also could use a yarn needle as Ingrid said.
I'm a beginner, and I don't catch the part where, after the 24 stitches, you knit the ear flap. can you please explain it?

Hi! I'm a beginner so I have a question: What do you mean by "pick up 1" at the beginning? This might be a super dumb question, sorry😅
It's not a dumb question! It means that you add a stitch. Here is a good video that shows it in detail :th-cam.com/video/dZXuTacR7NA/w-d-xo.html
@@IngridHollyknitting Thank you sm! I'm going to try to make this hat as my very first knit project!

Hi! will this recipe work on smaller yarn or will it effect the size of the hat?
It will make the hat smaller. If you use bigger needles than you normally would for whatever yarn size you want to use, it might not make the hat much smaller, but the stitches will be looser. You can also just cast on more stitches.
when you start to knit the second flap what do you mean by cut the yarn? do I leave a tail from the first flap?
yes! I show you how to sew in the tails at the end
after doing 15 stitches on one flap what do you mean by keep on doing that? like keep on adding stitches?
Once you have 72 stitches total, you just keep knitting like normal! No adding more stitches, you just knit the stitches that already there for 5 inches.
i don't understand the part after u cast on 24 stitches bc how do u knit the flap if there's 24 stitches infront of it???
nvm im stupid
Lol let me know if you have any other questions
What's the size of your yarn and needles?
The yarn and needles are linked in the description! I used chunky yarn, any yarn size 5 or 6 works. The needles I used in the video were small, but I recommend using size 8 needles.
Helpful thanks
Glad to hear that

😅
