This is the best instruction I have seen on this song and FINALLY someone has covered the intro. Time to practice and get this down. It can be a simple song if you play the basic version and add the embellishments to broaden the sound as this lesson clearly teaches. THANK YOU for breaking it all down so well WITHOUT adding a lot of time wasting fluff to the explanation!
...and to the detractors out there, the Rod Stewart version is actually a little better to my ears.

You can play both single parts of the intro in one if you use an open tuning in D,
    try it...

Two guitars, but one without capo picking of each a d & e chords, and other guitar capo on 7th fret. Much better lessons e.g. Privettricker.

Marcos Luna yes he did. Rod thought it wasnt a hit. He also co wrote the song. He tells a story on stage about it.

Ronnie Lane wrote and sang this tune on the original Faces studio recording. Woody was just the bass player.

@@jameshoskins8902 Are you sure Ronnie Lane didn't play bass? This riffing is soo Ron Wood.

Think you are mixing this song up with Gasoline Alley. The intro you describe is Gasoline Alley, not Ooh LaLa

  • @joelpanetta4449

Nice lesson but this was not sung by Rod Stewart. It was sung by Ronnie Wood. The story is that Rod did not like the song and didn't want to sing it. Woody did a great job. There is also a good cover by the Counting Crows.

I know that, but he kind of makes it sound like its Rods song. He should say I'm doing Rods 'version" of Ronnie Lanes tune. Its Ronnies Tune and give him credit.

Sorry, (and with well meaning) but your phrasing bears little resemblance to the track. Where's the bounce? and also that little da da da daa da da darumaa - if you know what i mean. It's there and playable.
