Fun fact they actually WERE going to nuke the building to decontaminate it, or at least blow it up. It was changed to a force field because of a certain terrorist attack that year.
OH, oh well now that got actual dark damn
Lilo and Stich was initially going to end with a plane in danger of crashing into a Hawaiian city but it was swapped to a spaceship and volcano because it came out in 2002.
It was about 9/11 or something, I don't exactly remember
That actually would have been much funnier imo
@@PhilthornYes, it was 9/11
Monster University is 100% worth a shot
Absolutely! I genuinely adore that movie, I watched it right when I was about to go to college and it eased my fears a bit!
Agreed!! My younger siblings watched it a LOT and I think it's just as fun and funny as the first one 😊
Yesss
my favorite movie honestly I’m so invested in the mu universe
For real, MU is one of the best pixar movies to me
He will love it
If you think bout it, Mike and Sully didn't just saved Boo, they saved all of the children of the world. 🌎
V true!!
Right?? They were going to capture children from their beds at night and torture them forever to milk screams. That’s TERRIFYING. Also I think Waternoose knew the laughter would also work, and be more efficient and humane than screams, but would rather do the screams. Also I think he knew children were harmless and was the one who started the rumor in the first place that they were evil and dangerous so that the scarers wouldn’t feel bad about scaring the children every night like Sully did once he saw how traumatized Boo was from Randall and how scared Boo got of him. And Randall is terrifying bro, he literally had ZERO problem murderering Mike and Sully and kidnapping and torturing Boo. And he didn’t even want to use his machine to be some sort of hero to the town, he just wanted to beat Sully and Mike as the top scarer because he had a grudge💀And Mike had no problem tossing Boo into a random door. Like that’s a three year old who will be lost in prob a different country than she even lives in with random people there who could be creeps, and no way to get back to her house. I love this movie, but it’s so dark lmao, the only characters who aren’t somewhat bad is Sully and Boo. I love them
Fun fact: the kid who played Boo was two when the movie was made. Since the producers couldn't get her to stay in the recording studio and say her lines (because she was a toddler), they let her play in the studio and then followed her around with a boom mike to catch what she said.
This movie has such a strong message about how easy it is to scare children without trying to. Even if your aggression isn’t targeted towards the child they still see it and they still find it terrifying.
Whoa... i never even thought of it that way but you're right
Oh wow, yeah. Like parents who scream, arguing with each other all the time. That definitely affects the child negatively and scares them.
I honestly just love the fact that Sulley went from scaring kids, being scared of Boo, too her father/guardian figure
Agreed!
Right?? And then helping turn the factory into a laughter place
The joke at 27:23 was a classic quote by comedian Henny Youngman: Patient says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this." Doctor says, "Then don't do that." Henny Youngman was a master of the one-liner, and this joke is a classic example. They just left off the punch line in this movie.
They actually **didn't** leave out the punchline. It's shown in this video at 29:38 and 39, although you might have to frame advance to see it easily. It's just on the next slide basically.
@@ZeroDividesByYOU lemme just... 27:39
there, sorry to correct your typo (I think it is) like that lol
@@RareGacha_YT oh yeah, good catch. That's what I get for not checking after
@@ZeroDividesByYOU no prob ^^
"they'd just nuke the building"
funnily YES, in the original cut.
It was supposed to be nuked, with the cloud mushroom and stuff. BUT, it was still too close to September 11, so they changed it into getting "a laser dome"
Yeah and you can actually find the deleted scene on TH-cam, and the people who worked on it discuss the change and how they felt. They also did that with Lilo and Stitch (2002) to switch a plane about to crash into a Hawaiian city to a space craft that looked nothing like an airplane or rocket and more like a UFO into a volcano. Which must’ve taken a really long time to change, because based on the deleted scene, they’d basically completed it.
Fun fact: the 29th letter of the alphabet is W and the 19th is S. So 23-19 is code for W S, which stands for "White Sock".
I never noticed how your voices changed until you pointed it out tbh, your voice and accent always sounded so soothing to me so i didnt even notice 😂
Soothing?? Well that’s a new but nice one I haven’t heard before thank you 😂
There’s a theory that the monsters talking to the news reporters in the beginning actually encountered jakjak from the incredibles. He can shoot laser beams from his eyes, he can dimension/world jump and he can pick people and objects up with telekinesis.
I remember watching this movie as a kid with my dad and bawled my eyes out when Boo, Sulley, and Mike said their goodbyes. Even now, as a grown woman in her late 20s; it still has me sobbing. Their family dynamic is still so wholesome after so many years - this film is golden through and through
I was watching the movie at work at night all by myself (night shift) and trying not to bawl at the end.
what a nice purple light umbrela ^^🌂
Why thank you!
@@Welchyyou're very much welcome
I remember I had this movie on VHS and would watch it daily and would watch it with my little sister. (She was like 3) She’s 10 now and has an Monster inc obsession.😭
She loves Mike Wasowski.
Did you actually have a VHS in 2016?
@@rocky.rocks1445 yes. My parents didn’t want me to have access to any inappropriate stuff so I had my older siblings VCR when they moved out.
Welchy:
What kinda monster is named James??
Me:
How is the name “Sully” almost any better.
😂👀😐😭
That’s what I thought too😂Also Mike. Also Randall. Randall seems like such a nerd name, which is funny cus in the University movie, he actually was a nerd.
Dude, I was literally just humming the theme song of this movie last night. You watching this is a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one!
This is one of those movies that I was raised on, and I seriously don’t think it gets the attention it truly deserves
Agreed! Honestly might be one of my favourites now
U had me at "Is this guy like half Godzilla, half chicken" 🤣🤣🤣
Did u also see the animated bloopers for this movie? Pixar also made bloopers for 'A Bug's Life' and 'Toy Story 2'. They're all hilarious.
🤣 and I did! After recording 😅
That "joke of the day" at the end is incomplete. The full joke is that the patient says "My arm hurts when I do this", and the doctor replies "Then stop doing that"
One of the funniest thing about this moving is that anytime it was advertised they'd always cut out Mike. In the DVD's, Billboards, i believe the VHS it always cracked me up 😭
I don´t agree with Disney and Pixar being the same company, to me Pixar is still doing amazing stories and beautiful movie, I think Disney is the one lossing herself. I would like for you Welchy to react to more Pixar movies! Good react, love Monsters Inc
You’re not wrong about seeing this film in a different light as adults. I swear, Mike looks like one of those Gnaar from Serious Sam!
🤣
Here's what I will never understand so telling me that her parents did not call 911 and have a whole search party. Instead everything's going back to how it was that makes no sense But it helps a story line so I get everyone has to deal with it 🎉😂❤
That’s what I was saying! It must’ve happened in like 1 night in the human world or that would be sus 🤣
Time may pass differently in the human world. I thought the same thing, because if she were gone for a full day, they’d have called the police because their three year old disappeared from her bedroom at night. But I think it all just happened in the same night.
Abominable snowman: Do I look abominable to you
Welchy: No, you look like a white candy floss
LOL
*Movie suggestion*
Lilo and stitch 2 you might possibly cry in this movie sequel I'm just saying
👀
I loved this movie as a child :D
Randal was my favorite character because I really liked his shape-shifting ability, it looked so satisfying :0000
All of Disney packaging with Mike on it also puts price stickers on his face for the joke.
"I wonder how many people, monster AND children he's killed"
People...And children...? You know what, I agree with you on that lmao
Mike is literally a villian (apart from what he did for Sully at the end of the movie) 🤣🤣🤣
I remember having this movie on VHS. I remember the tape was blue. And the animation still holds up surprisingly well for being 22 years old. I still kinda feel bad for my mom, I made her watch this movie with me so many times XD Fun fact that I didn't know until like three years ago! The 23-19 hazard code means "white sock." The 23rd letter in the alphabet is W, and the 19th is S.
Lovely umbrella even though I miss the classic red one
Ahh it’s stills with me don’t worry, it’s legendary
This movie scared me so much as a kid purely because I hated the roars. I just hated sudden loud noises when I was younger
Now that I’m older, I love this movie and I think that I was being a total wimp
Also, there’s not thinking before you speak and then there’s that 1:56
You should watch Who framed Rodger Rabbit it's a great film combines live action and hand drawn animation
OMG YES!!
I always thought she was Voilet from the incredibles. Would've explained the bathroom scene and her monster Randall can turn invisible and cherry on top how powerful would a scream be from a super child? They have the info on the kids so they'd know they'd be supers, and how many where abducted for their super screams? And the theory is that jack jack was the one the monsters saw with the lazer vision and telepathy powers and shook him like a dog because jack jack can teleport through dimensions and has lazer vision. And yeah before u say something, whos to say time travel isnt one of jack jack's powers?
I never watched monsters inc till i was kinda old, so this was fun😮
Lovely umbrella!
Why thank you!
Ayo more content, fuck yea
Too right
Okay....this movie. This movie would scare the crap out of me when I was little! Man certain scenes still do now and I have to skip over them. I'm embarrassed to say it but I would get nightmares about this movie and one scene in specific would always strike fear into me.
Which scene?
I highly reccomend Disney's A Christmas Carol. It's surprisingly faithful to the original book
He should catch out Disney Dinosaur it's so underrated.
Such a classic! I remember watching this when I was little and I still love it
I never watched Monsters Inc so thanks for doing this, Welchy! It's so cute 😊
Welcome!!
It seems someone hasn't had a kid pull their hair and whack you with stuff. It definetly hurts
Its so fucking insane how far Disney has fallen. Watching this feels like you’ve known these characters your whole life, like you KNEW they had history there. I miss wanting to watch something with substance like this.
This was my fav Pixar movie as a kid so it was so much fun to see how much you laughed with it!
I notice that you tend to insult your own voice, and whether it's from your own dislike or from some people "opinion", I hope you can slowly become more comfortable with it.
I used to dislike my voice too because some people were shaming me for it. It was so relieving and more bearable when I learned to accept it and then like it.
Also, wish you a nice and healthy recovery~!
Welchy: How does Mike have Sex
Me: WHAT?! ...But yeah, good question
28:03 if you noticed the end credits without the bloopers then this means he just watched the 2012 reissue on Disney+.
Already love this even tho I’m not finished yet
😊
The scenes with the trash mashine and the sceam mashine had me traumatized '^^
No wonder 🤣
The most iconic thing is your outro. I had to look it up because I couldn't believe my ears. But, nevertheless, I could bet on it.
Besides, I also get mysteriously sick when I watch the ending...
You got the outro song then 👀
@@Welchy Apparently so🏀
19:32 the going theory is time travel
It's always a good day when I see an upload from you. Great reaction, as always!
Billy Crystal said yes to voicing Mike because of turning down Buzz Lightyear.
The opening song for this movie lives rent-free in my brain and it will continue to stay there probably for the rest of my life. ❤
Thanks for giving me a video to watch, cause I'm at an awkward christmas event and i need something to distract me
I hope the event went well!
Here for it!
this is why i love monster inc
Ah, I guess I underestimated this movie because it took me to watch your reaction video to appreciate it
I was so surprised at how amazing it was!
There’s theories that say boo is actually Andy’s mom from Toy Story
Welchy!! What’s up my guy!
He lists monsters, children, and people. As if children aren’t people.
Somewhere in the vault exists a part of this video where you saw the blooper reel… right? Monsters Inc bloopers are so great
You should watch everything everywhere all at once. Everytime i live life the movie is in my head
13:57 at this very moment my power went out and it scared the sht outta me
What kind of accident do you have with your throat that makes you sound like a different person? Asking for science
I haven't seen this for so long! I didn't catch before that the restaurant is called Harry Hausen's (after Ray Harryhausen who was responsible for many of Hollywood's most famous stop motion monster moments, including the original Clash of the Titans).
Its been years since i watched monsters inc, such a good, dark movie tho
Your the best man!!
Ayy appreciate that!
@@Welchy ❤️🔥
Monster world is actually Narnia in the future. That also explains time passing differently and why Bo’s parents didn’t notice her gone 👀😬 just kidding
This movie was hilarious! You should see the bloopers and the two short films “Mikes new car” and “Put that thing back where it came from, or so help me” the musical.
PLEASE watch the prequel, it's so good!
There are some funny outros / extras after the credits.
What I love about this movie is it introduces the idea to imaginative kids that they don’t have to be afraid of monsters in the dark, they’re not there to hurt you, they just want to produce energy.
Please do Monster University, it's so good!
THE BLOOPERS WHERE’S THE BLOOPERS KDHDNDKDHDNJDIOSHSISJ
10:18 they were originally going to nuke the building but after 9/11 they had to change it. This movie was released a few months after 9/11.
Thinking about it now. The monsters who helped them bring boo back. There like peeta for kids😂
The most horrifying thing about this movie is the release date 😶😶
I imagine there’s factories all over the Monster world, not just the one we see, so kids all over the world are being scared. That would make sense for the village in the Himalayas being scared at least 🤷🏼♀️
26:20 omg🤣🤣🤣
Another suggestion: watch all the Disney shorts in 1
I’ve been watching this channel for a LONG time, and only now have I realised Welchy has heterochromia omg. Super pretty!
The only problem I have is that about This Awesome Video is that you were watching a version of The Movie where it didn’t have the bloopers in the end
You should watch Pixar’s newest film Elemental. It’s my favourite movie this year along with Spider man ATSV. We’d love your take on it
6:33 you- you were what-
Agree the early 90s was the best animations.
Jack Jack from incredibles has been to the monster world
1:57 I gasped way too loud at that revelation holy shit
😭😭😭
You totally should watch the sequel!!
4:36 would it be considered weird that when I was a really little kid and this movie was new Randall was my favorite? So much so that I had a toy of him I went to sleep with?
Well, that's ironic xD
Also thank god the video didn't show the 2011 Disney intro.
5:56 Andy’s wall paper. From Toy Story. Ever heard of the Pixar theory. Welchy, 6:41 The Disney Renaissance and some movies of the post renaissance😙 I’m thinking of binging all the 62 official Disney movies. If I have time. 8:39 The director and the crew followed Mary Gibbs around who voiced boo bc she would stay still in the recording booth. 26:07 That’s What I thought a few seconds prior to that scene.🤯
Fav movie is mary and max very depressing but I highly recommend it
Favorite Pixar film
2:25 i mean..Sully isn’t that scary either lmao
The Race Change and BJ Lips back to back was so unfair, I was CRYING
Ya welcome 😂😭
This movie needs a sequel
Monsters university.
@@Aurora-Welch that was the prequel
@@yazzers7940 yes thank you 😊
Factssss
top 3 best pixar movies
1)toy story 1
2)monsters inc
3)finding nemo
Monsters inc might be up there for me now honestly
You should watch the Toy Story films as well as the other pixar movies
No cluewhen you could Welchy; But check out "Thanksgiving" by Eli Roth.
Just came out mid Nov. Its an awesome B movie slasher that has an element of mystery to who the crazy killer is.
Think Scream but with SAW elements.
I liked the cast and parts of the story were amazing given how "Grind house" its look was.
Altho I do suggest watching Grind House duo feature movie and its fake trailers before hand.
Some of those fake trailers have become actual movies like "Hobo with a shotgun" and "Machette".
If you like cheesy horror then you'll love these suggestions.
I'm not denying Mike was selfish (and maybe a bit of a jerk at times if I had to go that far) in this movie, but damn it he's so entertaining and gives me the biggest laughs in the film😂
And a Slight-But-Not-Really Spoiler Warning: taking in account Monster 's University, it puts in some perspective on Mike trying so hard to keep him and Sully's job. Not justified for some of his actions, but kinda understandable
Agreed 100%!
im so sorry but these two 4:06 now give me karl and nolan vibes from mrbeast
