Nobody seems to realize just how much of a Boss Matt truly was. -Backup QB -Starter -Led Panthers to State Title -Dillon Hero -Dated the Daughter of his Head Coach
Coach Taylor getting annoyed at the sight of Saracen at his door, while Matt struggles to string together a whole sentence ...lol some things never change.
I love how nervous Saracen is when talking to Coach and Tami. It foreshadows the proposal and its a good callback to how nerdy he was when he first started dating Julie.
Was hoping my favorite scene of the entire show was in this clip when Matt asked coach for Julie's hand...."my answer is going to be no today, it will be no tomorrow, and it will likely be no until the sun burns out".
Mine has to be when Eric tells Tami. “Matt Saracen asked your daughter to marry him.” “Julie?” “What are you talking about? No Gracie. Yes Julie, he asked me for her hand in marriage!”
Matt and Julie are the most real couple aside from Tami and Coach, I love that we got to see the very foundation of their young love in s1 and basically all the hurdles and challenges they went through to get to this endpoint. it wasn't unrealistic, not all sunshine and daisies, but an actual depiction of a high school love transitioning into adulthood, the growing pains of that especially with uni on the horizon and eventually them reconciling and knowing they are meant to be together. I love we get to see them starting a life together in chicago, and it lets you kinda imagine them in the future, prob settling down and having kids once they are married, the family visits with the taylors in philly. Matt and Julie are defo meant to parallel eric and tami, but they also have their own vibe, both kinda artsy and living a contemporary life in the big city
After watching this scene, I decided to rewatch this episode on Hulu… they completely cut, once Julie hears Matt at the door. I check Netflix’s version: the scene is also cut. Thank you Friday Night Lights. I will go ahead and buy the physical dvds of this series because these streaming services are doing this show a disservice not releasing the true cuts.
@@robertlewis5257 The conversation between Coach and Tami killed him. "Matt Saracen asked your daughter to Marry him?" "Julie?" "What are you talking about? No. Gracie. Yes, Julie!" That entire dialog cracks me up. Especially when he was annoyed that she was stuck on Texas, and he was like, "We have bigger issues to deal with Like our 18 year old daughter is engaged.
yea I loved how both matt and julie kinda resembled what a young coach and tami would be like in the final scene when they are in chicago. especially Julie with the more wavy hair and eyeliner looks so much like her mom
I think it's just because of the context though. like coach still is probably a bit bitter about Julie and the TA situation , she broke his trust/respect there so she probably wants to be cautious after that with relationship stuff and her parents. imagine your daughter just had an affair with a married man and then a few months later is getting engaged to her hs boyfriend. would look all over the place
Julie set Matt challenges during their relationship where he had to standup to her father eg: The time Julie tells Matt to come to her house to pick her up for their movie date in season 3 episode 10 after they were caught in bed together by coach "man up matt" the permission seems like its a similar test.
@@eijiniizuma6184 thats true as well. I think that's also because Matt kinda reverts to his more timid less assertive self when it has to do with coach. thankfully though he really meant it here and persisted
i love how saracen still gets tongue tied around coach - and coach knows it and keeps pouring it on to mess with him : ) but matt should've run from julie , she is a total mess , he could've done so much better.
Everyone says that, but with the exception of season 2, she was her best self when she was with Matt. And it was the same thing with Matt. Her immaturity and him being mature for his age actually made them perfect for each other. They really balanced each other out.
Julie was remarkably similar to Tammi based on the stories her mom tells of her youth throughout the series. Tammi lost her virginity to her version of the swede,a mistake Julie avoided, Eric & Tammis first time was adjacent to a lake. sound familiar?
He's so cute. Everyone was obsessed with Riggins but Matt was the real catch.

And then he married her…seriously Matt Saracen is the literal definition of a stand up guy.
Bruh he hooked up with that woman who was taking care of his grandma too. He was a silent savage
@@saolift8442 Haha yeah lost his Virginity to her 😂
Got caught in bed by coach with his daughter also....
underrated bro

Think of the relief Coach and Tami must be feeling deep down...they could have ended up with Swede or Derek as a son-in-law and instead they got 7.
Or even riggins lmao
@@frankgallagher8760they’d be lucky to have riggins
The Swede was such an awful person.
@@andrewomahony9260he wasn’t an awful person, he just didn’t have direction in life. For sure not something her parents would approve of
“Is…is…is Jul”
“What”
“Is..is Julie here”

Tami : "She sure is..Julie"
Matt : *Nods*
This scene never fails to make me giggle
classic lmao

Matt sounds nervous when talking to anyone.
Omg coach Taylor is the best “what the hell you doing here. What? WHAT???”
I'm glad that Matt and Julie got Engaged. I'm happy for them.
they're fictional chartacters
@riner9 so?
My favorite couple on the show. Glad they lived together in Chicago

I'm not the biggest fan of Julie. But the fact that Matt got the girl of his dreams is so fucking satisfying.
And he got the Taylors as In-Laws.
The funniest part about the entire story to me is how Julie refused to even talk to Matt the first time they met . 4yrs later- agrees to marry him lol
I loved this show so much when I finished all the seasons I nearly cried this was my favorite episode of the entire show I cried

Top Ten favorite scene of one of my top ten favorite series. Matt is the man.
He got two rings! A State Championship and a wedding ring 👏👏👏

I’m kind of happy the show just ended on a very happy note.
I loved this scene.
it's the first time i've seen this whole scene because i was really sad to end so I never saw the last episode
Can you do where Matt asks coach for permission pls
And Then Coach and Tami’s conversation right after!😂😆

What a tearjerker.
Julie’s like “I’m not getting involved. Lalala..”😂😂
"the hell are you doing here" - Coach taylor knowing exactly what the hell hes doing there
As soon as the door opens they play nice 😂
Ou puis je regarder cette scène car j'ai regarder la saison 5 épisode 13 mais il y'en a pas.

It always surprises me that Julie expected Matt to ask Coach for permission. She has never really been one to follow these sort of rules.

that was years back at this point and he showed her the consequences. also she just kissed the guy and then broke up with matt like 5 min after
