ഫോർജിങ് പ്രോസസ്സ് ആണ് അവിടെ നടക്കുന്നത്.. ഒരു കാലത്ത് വേറെ വളരെ നഷ്ടത്തിൽ പോയൊരു സ്ഥാപനം ആയിരുന്നു ഇത്. ഇപ്പോൾ എങ്ങനെ ആണെന്ന് അറിയില്ല.. പിന്നെ അവിടെ തൊഴിലാളികൾക്ക് പൊതുവെ സാലറി കുറവാണു... കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരുമാതിരി എല്ലാ പൊതുമേഖല സ്ഥാപങ്ങളുടെ യും അവസ്ഥ ഇപ്പോൾ വളരെ പരിതാപകരം ആണ്. വൻ നഷ്ടത്തിൽ എന്ന് വേണം പറയാൻ.. ഞാനും ഒരു സ്ഥാപനത്തിൽ ആണ് ജോലി ചെയുന്നത്. ശമ്പളം കിട്ടിയിട്ട് മൂന്ന് മാസം ആയി..5,6 മാസം വരെ പെന്റിങ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.. ഇപ്പോൾ കുറഞ്ഞു.. എന്നാലും കമ്പനിയിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ തൊഴിലാളികൾ ഇല്ല. ശമ്പളം കിട്ടാതായപ്പോൾ പലരും മറ്റു കൂലി പണികൾ അന്നെഷിച്ചു ലീവ് എടുത്തു പോയി.. ഞാനും കുറച്ചുനാൾ കരിങ്കല്ല് പണിക്കുപോയി. ജീവിക്കേണ്ട.... പറയുമ്പോ സർക്കാർ കമ്പനിയിൽ ജോലി.. ജീവിതമോ.... ദാരിദ്രം.. ഇതുപോലെ കേരളത്തിൽ ഒരുപാടുണ്ട് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ..

കാലം ഇത്രയും മാറിയിട്ടും. സർക്കാരിന്റെ ബിസിനസുകൾ ലഭ്ത്തിൽ കുറവ് വരുന്നത്...1 മെഷീൻ എടുക്കുന്ന പണി 10 പേര് എടുക്കുന്ന സംവിതനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് മാറിയിട്ടില്ല.. എന്നത് കൊണ്ട്.. സർക്കാർ വരുമാനം. നഷ്ട്ടത്തിൽ തന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും..നഷ്ട്ടം സഹിച് തൊഴിലാളികൾക് ജോലി കൊടുക്കണോ 🤭ksrtc പോലെ

ഈ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ ഇതുവരെ കടകളിൽ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. എവിടെയെല്ലാം ലഭ്യമാണ് എന്നുകൂടി അറിയിച്ചാൽ നന്നായി.

Metal Industries Ltd was originally set up by the efforts of Late CKMenon who was a native of Kulappully and also PG Degree holder in metallurgy from Sheffield (UK). They also had a foundry division in the early stages. In due course of time Menon was not able to manage the affairs single handedly (he was a bachelor for life) and so he handed over the company to Govt of Kerala. The foundry unit was later closed down. There are also other similar manufacturing units like SIMCO, Sree Narayana, Mayil Vahanam which came up in Kulappully area, who too used the expertise of CKMenon. Menon passed away in 1985.

Unfortunately, I don't see any innovation. All products seems old school. Very labour oriented process (19th century processes). They need a new CEO who should look towards more automation and increase number of products offered. If they do they can compete in the entire country and make good outcome. Current govt. will definately fund if they are ready to automate most of the processes.
