First, I agree, but I also don't think it's a fair comparison. The people buying this Force USA stuff would never even look at that other stuff. It's Dads and families and twice a week general fitness people. People who love barbell work are way better off with a 3x3 traditional rack, but your average Joe who wants to work out at home instead of going to Crunch fitness is gonna really like these all in ones from Force. I saw Vesta at HGC and they are an interesting hybrid between the two. i still don't think I'd buy a rack with all this stuff crammed into it to use a barbell on, but if that's your jam, they are a good solution.
I have this Will be there be an upgrade kit for the this version of the G6? I wonder if they are keeping the same frame and just being able to grade the uprights.
That's a great question! It would be very cool if they offered new uprights. It's a huge change and opens up a ton of accessories. I'll be talking to them very soon and will ask. I'll post back here if they have an update.
@@GymCrafterHey Tim looking at this G6 during Black Friday sales at Johnson fitness. Can get $150 off plus free Bow-Flex adjustable 552 Dumbells and free installation. Any word on the front upright upgrade? I asked Force USA and they couldn’t tell me anything. Force USA also told me the uprights were 11 gauge steel but when I looked at the store I would agree these are not 11 gauge. But G3 they had on display didn’t seem like it either but maybe I am wrong. Is the upgrade something you would wait for given the current deals? Thanks for your great reviews! Happy Thanksgiving!
@@nordinjoe I don't know to be honest. I think it's a matter of selling through the current stock first. Uprights on all their standard stuff is 4 gauge for sure. Anything "Pro" is 11 gauge. Force is running a free air bike and my code "gymcrafter" gets you 5% off on top of any sales at any time if that helps. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
Depends on how you train. They are two completely different things. The G6 is an all in one that includes a Smith machine. If you prefer a Smith machine to a standard barbell, this is the way to go. If you'd rather train with a barbell, the Athena setup will be better for you as it has a beefier rack and no Smith in the way. The Athena will be more compatible with attachments from a variety of companies while the G6 will relegate you mostly to stuff form Force USA.
th-cam.com/video/FTkGSmeZ1B0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=efk-xQPu6cTqnFx4&t=133 I just contacted Force USA customer service regarding the new version with closer hole spacing uprights and they said: "We don't have any information on any upcoming new version of the G6." Did you hear it from them? Do you have any ideas as to when it will be available? Thanks.
From them directly. When I was there, they said the units with upgraded uprights were on the way. They weren't sure if they were going to offer just the uprights so existing owners could upgrade or not. They didn't have an eta, but it seemed like sooner than later.
@ thanks. In that case I’m guessing it won’t be a new version but rather a new upright design that will be shipped with new units. I’ll wait a few more weeks and then take a gamble and hope for the best.
@@marcelsoleda3409 Yeah, I don't think they are releasing a "V2" or anything like that. It will just be a running change in the uprights and attachments that come with.
I'm a barbell guy, so this seems way too much. It's probably more than 95% of people would ever need, but I can't see people really using this for barbell work. It's confusing to look at. But...I'm not the target market for this kind of thing.
You hit it on the head. Family's, couples, and lots of people who will never do barbell work are the customer here. Cables and Smith machines have a feeling of being safer to this group and also easier to learn and to use. That's why these all have exercise charts built into them. they are not for the avid lifter or garage gym athlete. The reason I'm thinking of one is that I really want just a plain rack again (although I change my mind daily) and this would give me cables and a Smith in one small footprint.
Definitely a step up from the RitFits and the Major Luties of the world but still a step lower than the 3x3 Rogue/Rep/Vesta/Fringe Sport.
Totally agreed. For the money, spend the extra and get the one you really want.
I had the x15 on my radar for the sake of the stainless 3x3 front uprights.
@@weightsnwaves very nice!

100%
I can get this model from my local dealer for 2300. Should I jump on it?
Force USA is growing on me.
For the right person, it's great stuff. It's def not a 3x3 Rogue rack, but it's completely different customer bases.
Good job!
Thanks
