A much as a lot of Federation suits, Gundams and all sorts of mobile suits from different Gundam Universes are adored by fans, the Zaku is just amazing to look at all the time. I grew up rooting for the Zaku despite the side it fought on and its definitely up there as a top favourite of mine

Gundam is one of the epoch making series that signified the Mobile Suits as a weapon of war that can be exchanged, similar to how Ace pilots exchanged fighters to the more advanced series during WW2. If the Akutan Zero wasn't captured by the US, the course of history may have played out differently
M'Quvie have strangest biography. In Origin he Lt. General and Commander of Earth Attack Force. In TV series and movie he just colonel and Kicilia subordinate. In TV Show he die by Amuro hand. In movie he survive and die in manga. And what is Canon now?
More specifically, Gihren and Kycilia. I get the distinct impression that Degwin and Dozle really didn't want any part of that, but got pressured into trying to end the war quickly.
They were literal Space Nazis though. Zeon's war for independence wasn't a war for independence as they had already held independent rule for years prior to the war. It was a war of influence and expansion which Gihren in particular believed it to be their destiny they went to war the very moment they knew they had some kind of advantage in the arms race that started after Zeon gained independence and that was the Zaku Mobile Suit. At the same time they also believed in the Newtype Theory championed by Zeon Deikun which is pretty much a pseudo replacement for Aryanism in the UC Universe for the Space Nazis to rally behind. That being said, we normally don't not get an in depth view of Zeon ideals throughout the Franchise, outside of Newtypes and Spacenoid Independence reteroic. Not really until Gundam Unicorn made it sound like the Zeon's were Socialist at least Zimmerman was, which only makes them sound even more like real Space Nazis. I often fall back to the argument that Amuro and Char had on Char's CounterAttack when inside the Asteroid when Amuro talked about idealist and intellectuals who start revolutions and how it pretty much always ends with totalitarianism.
@@2097Pyros I can bring up the argument of "What choice did they have?" If they were going to wage war against the Entire Earth Federation, they wouldn't of stood a chance without some kind of quick, strong strike. Similar to Nazi Germany's situation at the Start of WWII they had to end it quickly, or they would face defeat, which means 'Total War' with no restrictions. Even after the USSR supplied Germany with 60+% of her fuel needs for 1940 she was going to run out by the end of the summer of 1941 which is the primary reason for Operation Barbarossa (Which the Zeon invasion of Earth is often used to emulate). Tragically Gundam The Origin kind of put a knife into the logic of the Gundam universe pinning the blame of the continuation of the war on Gihren by aiding in Admiral Revil's Escape and orchestrating a sabotage to the peace process to extend the life of the war, despite Zeon not having the ability to fight an extended war 'lore' wise originally, making Gihren look like an idiot, as even if they invade Earth they couldn't win that prolonged war. A prolonged war that was originally pinned on Revil's courage to continue resisting, now Revil looks like a pawn as well in Gihren's scheming.

Probably the movie as to was done to re do the ending as the original series was cut short
Ultimately, I feel the show is more the true canons.
