Jaleel is such a good guy. You can just tell. He doesn’t use twitter all that much anymore, but he used to tweet a lot about sports. I’d go back and forth with him about sports topics all the time, and one day after we talked about a baseball game, he followed me back! I definitely want to read his book, I’m sure it’s packed with great stories.
It’s nice to know that Jaleel White doesn’t happen to have any regrets about playing Uriel. My sister and I used to watch Family Matters reruns on Nick At Nite before we went to bed, and we think he’s just one of the most talented actors out there, and he is very grateful for his work.
I liked the first few seasons, but then it starting getting kind of strange. It started getting really weird as soon as Steve started changing into Stefan.
Even I was called “Urkel” because I wore glasses with a strap while playing handball from 1995 to 2000 (at 44), and while attending college from 1999 to 2008 (at 52). Jaleel, you’re a genius; you stole the whole show, every season, and Steve resonated with countless people, men and women of all ages. While writing my first book and taking breaks, my comic relief was Family Matters. Thank you.
The real reason as to why Family Matters was cancelled is actually quite tragic. There were plans for a 10th & final season that would have ended with Steve & Laura's wedding & would have seen a bunch of characters from the 1st 8 Seasons return, but it didn't happen for a few reasons; the actress who portrayed Myra died from cancer, the actress who had portrayed Harriet since Season 1 left the show & was replaced halfway through Season 9, & part of the studio & set was destroyed in a fire. So, ultimately Season 10 never happened, which is also a shame since some elements for this final season were actually set up in Season 9, but they were never finished.
Jaleel aging backward. A big part of my childhood watching the reruns of _Family Matters_ but come to find out later that he is the OG voice of Sonic the Hedgehog? The man is a legend.
Indeed. I used to watch the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog every morning before school in the mid 90s. Then I'd watch the more darker version of Sonic on Saturday mornings on ABC. Two different Sonic shows running at the same time was glorious. Jaleel is a legend.
“I’m consistently who I’ve always wanted to be” -and that really is something to be proud of Jaleel, 30 years later, after all the ups and downs in the entertainment business, to be able to say “yup, I’m still me and I’m who I wanted to be” is a testament to character and hard work.
I met him at Fan X here in Salt Lake City in 2021 and he was like a very down to earth kind of bro to me when I saw him. I’m most definitely thanked him for giving me the most laughs out of anybody on TV throughout my elementary school days when me and my family used to watch him as Steve Urkel.
He was my favorite character on family matters.. I grew up in United States watching American comedies .. From Different Strokes and the Brady Bunch.. ❤😂..
When I was 12 years old, Steve Urkel made a surprise appearance at my cousin's 13th birthday. This was nearly two years after Urkel first graced our TV screens. Of course, it wasn't Jaleel White, but a professional impersonator who was maybe two or three years younger than me. Throughout the entire Urkel antics, my cousin sat there in facepalm mode, like "Really, Mom?" with a fake smile. NGL, we were all embarrassed for Urkel as well, but showed him some love for his effort and showmanship. Looking back, I can't help but to admire that kid's parents for keeping him grounded and on the straight and narrow. How many pre-teens can say that their first job was a party entertainer, as opposed to bagging groceries?
He said in 2013 the old producers reached out to him about Netflix wanting a reboot and he said he didnt want to follow Fuller House. He then told the dude that people are Intrested in his memiors and he said dont nobody care about your memiors he then responed its 10 years later and that people were still asking. I think he owed it to everyone in the cast to call and ask is everyone willing to reunite for as many seasons as they can get because he took over a show that wasnt even his. The show was a spin off Perfect Strangers for Harriet.
When I lived in LA in the 90s, I would go to Westwood (UCLA) and play pickup games in the gym. We’d see each other all the time and give each other dap.
Matthew 16:26 “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
If Metal Sonic makes a appearance in the Sonic Movie, all of us fans need to start a petition to get Jaleel White to voice him. Jaleel White (the voice of Sonic in the 90s cartoons) vs Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz).
I just hear Sonic in his voice, like an older, chill, mature Sonic, and it’s a goood voice!! I wish he’d voice the character in an official project just one more time. The OG classic Sonic voice. 💯
"Thats our Jaleel" - really hectic that you have poured it all out on a few pages, awesome book cover.. brilliant career Mr White and theres definitely more to come I guess, take care
Have to say- met Jaleel once and really wasn’t a nice guy. Maybe he was having a bad day but I’ve heard the same from others. Shawn Harrison-who played Waldo, on the other hand-one of the nicest guys you’ll meet
I keep thinking to myself he must have a terrible agent. I get the Urkel thing because I grew up on family matters. But I'm like why hasn't he been offered a Law & Order role or something like that. There are so many shows being made now for all these services. He should be on something.
Is someone gonna tell him that we don’t care. Years of silence then reemerging w an unsolicited book about what? No movies/shows after the show ended and now here he is trying to still make money off of Urkel
Down to earth, humble, personable, kind ….how refreshing!!!
He’s answered me before on Twitter too. But like you said, I don’t think he goes on there anymore.
Jaleel with that THRILLER inpiration book cover!
😂😂😂😂
That's what I was thinking too.
This was incredible. So happy to stumble across this, definitely worth the watch.
It’s nice to know that Jaleel White doesn’t happen to have any regrets about playing Uriel. My sister and I used to watch Family Matters reruns on Nick At Nite before we went to bed, and we think he’s just one of the most talented actors out there, and he is very grateful for his work.
This is so great thank you Jaleel White for being Steve Urkel and bringing so much laughter to Family Matters!!!
The OG voice of Sonic.
Be real. He's the only voice of Sonic. If anybody says different, they're lying.
🎉🎉🎉 yes he is
@osaji922 it's a shame that the film industry didn't use him in the actual big screen.
Shout out to YOU Raghu! Salute 🫡👍🏾
He's to Sonic what Adam West was to Batman.
He should have called his memoir “did I do that?”
That really is a good suggestion. Maybe his next book will use that title.
"That's NO GOOD: Jaleel White's Story"
Look what you did! 👉
That woulda been EXCELLENT!
If he releases a book of wise words/positivity thinking or a feel-good book, it can be called Urkel-O's.
Family Matters top 10 sitcom of all time no doubt! Classic show I love it
I liked the first few seasons, but then it starting getting kind of strange. It started getting really weird as soon as Steve started changing into Stefan.
@@jenniferhansen3622 it was still OK when he first turned Stefan. But then when they kept it going, the show got weird.
@@Jacob-nu4nd Yes. I can't remember the exact episode, but it was at some point after he showed up. 😉
@@Jacob-nu4ndit was not overdoing it.
Jaleel as Urkel and the voice of Sonic The Hedgehog was legendary within the sphere of pop culture in the 90s.
Mr White amazing and so caring and strong man. I think he still inspires us till this day.
We need a shirt that says “I have just entered my STEFAN era”
Stefan Urkel just hit RIGHT!!!!!!
He got the Teddy Pendergrass, Michael Jackson, Isley Brothers pose going on
I love it! 😂
I never get tired of insight into this show
Hard to believe he's pushing 50, but it's amazing!
Even I was called “Urkel” because I wore glasses with a strap while playing handball from 1995 to 2000 (at 44), and while attending college from 1999 to 2008 (at 52).

Thank you.
Jaleel i still love him as steve he made laugh for years😂

Interesting. Thank you for sharing.
😮😮😮 Wow, thanks for that info
Im pretty sure i stopped watching on or before Harriet left. He just got too old. The Myrtle character was a blast but this is cool info
Their ratings went down too in later seasons

Jaleel has integrity
God bless Jaleel, he’s a living legend ❤️
I met him at Fan X here in Salt Lake City in 2021 and he was like a very down to earth kind of bro to me when I saw him. I’m most definitely thanked him for giving me the most laughs out of anybody on TV throughout my elementary school days when me and my family used to watch him as Steve Urkel.

High school and hit show simultaneously. That must have been a trip!
I’d love to see Jaleel play multiple characters in a movie. We need more of him like Eddie Murphy, Martin and Mike Myers.
Love Jaleel hes so grounded and such a nice guy. Still remember that old Scion commerical. he really great person
I love ❤️ this young man and loved ❤ him since the beginning!

Less is more
I was called “Four Eyes”. 😂🤣 That was the joke in my days.
So I had the bright idea of deliberately breaking my new bifocals in half thinking my mom wouldn’t have to wear them…my mom taped them together. 😂
im glad that he didnt grow up washed up from drugs, and now broke. like a lot of child actors. good for him.
Me too I'm glad he's known for other things besides Urkel. He now host a game show on GSN called Flip Side.
Awww. I love this for him ❤
We , My family still watch Family Matters just as much as Martin.
How can one be so smart at such young age 🙌🏾
❤❤❤❤❤ a classic show wish that they would have done the wedding as the final episode
But how ?
He said in 2013 the old producers reached out to him about Netflix wanting a reboot and he said he didnt want to follow Fuller House. He then told the dude that people are Intrested in his memiors and he said dont nobody care about your memiors he then responed its 10 years later and that people were still asking. This show was beyond iconic!!!! 😍
Go Jaleel White
Still looking fine❤❤❤
When I lived in LA in the 90s, I would go to Westwood (UCLA) and play pickup games in the gym. We’d see each other all the time and give each other dap.
Aw…😊 I like Jaleel White. Seems like such a genuine person. Sad the interview was so short.
It’s Jaleel black! Hello
I drooled over Stephan all the time. He is a gorgeous man!!!!!
Jaleel made the show. He always made me laugh. Great job on the show.
that cover of that book looks like he's about to sing love songs 😂 He's funny without even trying
He has such a unique voice.
He also did a good job voicing Iconic video game character Sonic the Hedgehog back in the 90’s it’s available on DVD
He'll always be Sonic to me.
Love him in Family Matters as Urkle
Matthew 16:26
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Steve urkel's character said to me, "Like yourself!"
“Did I do that” 😅😂
"look what you did"😅
jaleel is a great actor I think he is going to get a big role one day
He already had a huge role
@squarebiz90 we are talking in the future
Not Jaleel White with the Michael Jackson "Thriller" pose on the book cover.
He said he wanted that 80s/90s feel
If Metal Sonic makes a appearance in the Sonic Movie, all of us fans need to start a petition to get Jaleel White to voice him. Jaleel White (the voice of Sonic in the 90s cartoons) vs Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz).
I love him ❤❤❤
This should be a good book! I used to love that show!
God he has grown up so much. An he is the only child, an real life.
He’s wonderful
Wow I love this!
I just hear Sonic in his voice, like an older, chill, mature Sonic, and it’s a goood voice!! I wish he’d voice the character in an official project just one more time.
The OG classic Sonic voice. 💯
Great to see jaleel
Stefan Urkel was soooooo fine to me as a kid 😅
"Thats our Jaleel" - really hectic that you have poured it all out on a few pages, awesome book cover.. brilliant career Mr White and theres definitely more to come I guess, take care
He killed the reboot smh
Happy Early 48th Birthday. 🎂
Im 48 so is Jaleel cause i look him up as make sure, lol he hosts a game show on the Game Show Network.
It's called Flip Side
The male interviewer looks super bored and disengaged in this interview
I noticed that too
He may not be a Family Matters fan or sadly probably not a fan of Jaleel?
She’s stunning
Have to say- met Jaleel once and really wasn’t a nice guy. Maybe he was having a bad day but I’ve heard the same from others. Shawn Harrison-who played Waldo, on the other hand-one of the nicest guys you’ll meet
I’m sorry but I’m extremely bothered that she kept saying “Ur-kel” when it’s definitely Urkel
Please get rid of Tony D. He has issues that we the public do not want to see. He was rude to this guest.
The book must be good. He has the iconic lean on the cover.😅
Jaleel hitting that Thriller lean lol
Talented young man so funny
Bro looks great… anyone ever seen “who made the potato salad” 😂
Long Live Urkel
Still suave lol
Ha, saying “go with the mouse” while on CBS/Paramount.
John 3:3
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
She loves him
He hasn't aged a day
did I do that
Where is CBS Mornings filmed/located?
I keep thinking to myself he must have a terrible agent. I get the Urkel thing because I grew up on family matters. But I'm like why hasn't he been offered a Law & Order role or something like that. There are so many shows being made now for all these services. He should be on something.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 classic
💙😊
Jaleel White was so hated that they sent him off to space so they could not bring him back.
I still say he should have voiced sonic
And he's the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog
They ruined FM when he started doing the Stephan garbage!
Was he not allowed to speak on his knew show he hosting
That picture is too much!
😎😎😎
I can never take him seriously...
Y
Can't take you seriously either
Is that stephon
Carl
😭😭😭 Why is she pronouncing his characters name like that lol!
Thriller cover and that might sell copies,
I am a writer and director >>>I have great project available if he would like to produce it. He will NOT be disappointed. NOT AT ALL
She's not pronouncing Urkel the right way......smh
Is someone gonna tell him that we don’t care. Years of silence then reemerging w an unsolicited book about what? No movies/shows after the show ended and now here he is trying to still make money off of Urkel
