  • Can you take Viagra/Cialis, multivitamins, hair products, etc while taking Tikosyn? I share the results of my visit with the electro-cardiologist after having been on Tikosyn (Dofetilde) for 30 days. Atrial fibrillation is typically a permanent defect in your heart electrical system, but there are good medications such as Tikosyn worth exploring.
I'm not a doctor of any kind so please consult your own provider for more information and advice customized to your health situation.

Thanks for sharing. Can we get an 2023 update on your long term Tikosyn use?

Just found your video. I have break through AFib and I’m scheduled for Tikosyn this month. I am very scared but your video helped to explain. I still worry that since I’m not in AFib all the time like once a month. But thank you for sharing what will happen at hospital.

Hey -- I just watched your update--- thanks a million for the summary and the advice. I've been 'converted' now for a week and have returned to the gym, to the pool, and to work. I am slated to wear a heart monitor for two weeks starting Monday to see if my sinus rhythm is consistent (feels consistent to me). I was initially concerned about an iatrogenic response to the Tykosin, but so far, my iatrogenic symptom has been slightly heightened anxiety. I can handle that. Thanks again for taking the time to make these video. Wishing you continued health and a Happy Thanksgiving. Bob

Thank you for these videos. I've seen this one and the first one you did from the hospital.
I have similar concerns as you, but to make a long story short I'll just say that the answer I got from my electrocardiologist to the question of taking sildenafil (Viagra) or tadalafil (Cialis) while on dofetilide was the exact opposite. It's okay.

I know this is nearly a year after the post but...I do NOT take the sleepy meds when I do a Colonoscopy. It isn't that hard to do.

I appreciate your effort to report on your experience with Dofetilide, but need to correct you on the use of Sildenafil (Viagra.) It is NOT true (according to my electrophysiologist MD) that use of this drug is contraindicated at all, let alone with fatal results. I was told "no problem" and that has been my experience over some time. I use 500 mg dofetilide twice/day and 100 mg sildenafil as needed with no ill effects. I should also say that my pulse and blood pressure are normally below normal, which would seem to be a concern but has not been the case. Thanks again.

Curious, what is your rest pulse rate when in sinus rhythm? (Mine is quite low - low to mid 40s sometimes)

I've agreed to med since they've tried every blocker, 4 ablations, and now my hope is this med. Waiting for bed availability today. Third week of trying to get a bed. 😢.

@@maleeshelton9087 I'm surprised that they didn't start you out with the meds before your first ablation. Wish you the best!
