    Tallinn looks great. I love the architecture and that cathedral looks stunning. Thanks for opening me up to more history I never knew.

    This is now one of my favourites ;) It's a great video of a really beautiful place, and a fantastic place to wander around and drink in the medieval atmosphere.

    Great video, man. Was just in Tallinn myself a few days ago, it really is a beautiful city. Loved the fortifications and the beautifully preserved and restored buildings, and all the little museums around town.

      Thanks! We were there back in July and really loved it - we spent a week and didn't want to leave!

    Another informative city tour. I had an Estonian friend back in the eighties who said how beautiful Estonia was, it was the first time I heard of the place as it was back in the old Soviet days when travel was still restricted and we just referred to all these places as the USSR.

      It certainly has traces of its USSR heritage around the place (moreso outside the Old City where we filmed), but it's actually very modern and exciting. They've invested very heavily in training their younger folk in technology and English, which seems to be paying off. Skype was actually invented by two young Estonian guys in Tallinn 👍

    I haven't been in Tallinn , and just added to my list. It reminds me Stockholm. I like how the buildings are so colorful

      It's definitely a lot like Stockholm, though quite a bit smaller.

    I have a friend who lives in Tallinn and I've been meaning to get there. Seems like quite a beautiful place and of course, I'm all about that UNESCO World Heritage beauty! Do you do a ton of research before you make your videos?

    • @WorldHeritageJourney
      @WorldHeritageJourney  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some research, definitely, though we visit at a fairly fast pace so I can't go too in-depth. EG for this video I made sure to research the broad strokes of Estonia's and Tallinn's history, and to see what were the key reasons UNESCO added it to the list. But a lot of the detail I learn while I'm there, from signs and information sheets etc. I'd highly recommend a visit, Tallinn is beautiful!
