Shankar (an atheist) as compared to Khudabaksh (blind believer) could actually get Sultana what she wanted. Yes she might have felt cheated but Shankar did not lie to her and infact fulfilled his promise. Society is still what it was at the time of Manto (looking down upon prostitutes). It's very convenient to have a herd mentality. But only a strong person can accept that he is part of society that is rotten. Manto was not just that but took the responsibility of expressing what he believed in. As humans it is very important for us to stand against what's wrong. Manto faced a tide of opposition all by himself and died hoping his words will bring a small change atleast.
Moral of the story is Even prostitute needs a shoulder during there Bad days , they too have feelings . Life is not about sex. Life is all about trust, love, sharing and keeping all happy by helping one other. And more Important Money doesn’t make you Religious. It’s Love makes you Religious and there is one Religion that is Humanity.

Sultana was worried about her profession how she is losing her market value day by day but she has another worry that Muharram is approaching I think that what she has in character other than sexual appeal she has humanity she may have strong faith she has some moral values other than what her profession is
