They combine to be a borderline all nba level player for their exact role of running the floor for lobs and finishes, defending all positions/shot blocking in the paint, rebounding, and even playmaking out of the Luka blitz. Incredible combo.
and this is why Dallas lost the Championship... well, part of the reason lol. Kidd sat this man on the bench and played Maxi more minutes... Maxi... Gafford was the 4th highest scorer in the Boston finals with a 0.54pt per minute average and Kidd played Maxi..... 🤮 Take a look how the points per minute leader board looked like for the 5 Boston final games, POINTS PER MINUTE Mavs vs Boston 1 - 4 01. Luka - 0.75 02. Hardy - 0.63 03. Gafford - 0.54 04. Kyrie - 0.50 05. Exum - 0.46 06. PJ - 0.33 07. THJ - 0.31 08. DJJ - 0.28 09. Green - 0.27 10. Morris - 0.25 11. Lively - 0.24 12. Lawson - 0.18 13. O-Max - 0.00 Gafford 14.80 minute average per game, 40 points, 22 rebounds, 02 assists, 01 steal, 03 blocks, 04 personal fouls MAXI.... 16.00 minute average per game, 09 points, 07 rebounds, 03 assists, 01 steal, 01 blocks, 08 personal fouls Explain to me what Maxi was doing better than Gafford to eat Gaff's minutes up?????????? Gaff should have had a 25 minute average per game!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly, I also saw that insane Luka stat line when he led in total points, rebounds, assists and steals for the whole playoffs except for blocks because Gafford took it. I remember him recorded more total blocks in the Wolves series by far against the DPOY.
I think the reason Jason Kidd did that is because the Celtics have the 5-out offense with all starter and their bench (except Luke Kornet) can shoot well from the 3 point line. Although Gafford is a Rim Protector, he lack the mobility (something Kleber is better at) to be a good perimeter defender. Moreover, Kleber can also shoot threee and may create more space for Kyrie and Luka. Sadly Kleber has not been the same since comeback from his shoulder injury (he shot 10-of-18 threes before his injury).
@@trinhdat1512 5 games though... you would think by game 2 or even 3 Kidd would realize MAXI is not working out. Gafford had Maxi beat on every stat but 1 assist and that's probably because Maxi passed instead of shooting... Also, Lively and Gafford on the bench at the same time... HUH? If you're going to bench them at the same time, why not throw them out the on the court at the same time and see what happens... I hope Gafford pushes aside being the NBA leader for FG% for the 2023/23 season and forgets chasing that again and takes more risks putting the ball on the floor and showing his true dunk potential and not just lobs and putbacks because Gafford can get up there with the best of them, he just needs an ok to do so and not get pulled the second he makes a bad play. Anyway, I'm just excited to see a full season now after all the trades, like seriously, what a line up we now have. All we have to hope for is Luka not getting any more injured and taking a quick break before we run it back 😁
@@republicofcasuals Yes, I'm totally rooting for our line up next season. If we can replace Kleber and Powell with another stretch 5 big like Dario Saric or Nic Batum, it would be perfect. Also I hope PJ, Lively and Gafford can improve their free throw percentage and add some 1-on-1 skill to their bag. One of the reason we lose the Celtic is was big can't make advantage of their size to attack Celtic paint like Siakam and Myles Turner did.
He dunks with finesse. Never awkward or sloppy.
Every lob always get the crowd roaring!
I love this guy!
Gafford top 5 center the mavericks have had along with lively since the last time they had Tyson Chandler. Gotta keep them
All the talk is Luka, Kyrie, and Klay. Is everyone forgetting our 2 amazing centers?

Gafford dunks are like touchdown.
3:36 what a rim rocker
That tells a lot about Gafford as he was very close to break Wilt record.
He reminds me of Lamarcus Aldridge
The gift of Gaff!!!!!
Should’ve played him more in the finals against Boston.
