So just a little background on Big Hit, as you already figured, they are BTS' company. And what's interesting is that Ateez's story mirror theirs in a lot of fascinating ways! Big Hit and KQ were very small struggling companies, very much underdogs in the huge kpop industry dominated big Big Three (SM, JYP, YG), both used extensive storyline (BTS in the middle of their career, and Ateez is ongoing from the beginning) with intricate lore and a lot of their b-side tracks focus on mental health etc. What's also important to know is that Wooyoung is a VERY big BTS fan. So it's extra big deal that he left Big Hit, the company of his idols, to follow Yeosang. Both of them were not good fit as by that time (around 2017) BTS was taking off and the BH was growing and the training was notoriously vigorous and a little bit indifferent (not unlike the one at JYP). Wooyoung and Yeosang both liked close-knit community at KQ much better as it had more personal and warm touch. Trainees at BH who stayed there come to be TXT so that's why Wooyoung is besties with Yeonjun (and the rest of members), bc they trained together. Also fun fact: Yeonjun was San's schoolmate before he even met Wooyoung, what a small world!
Parasocial relationship is big issue in kpop, many of the idols can't even date publicly. JYP (skz company) even has dating ban to their artists. some fans even asked idols who were caught dating to be kicked out of the group
@@TrolltekOfficial I think it's important to be aware that the kpop industry has an active goal of enabling and encouraging parasocial relationships to a high degree, and to the point of being toxic and unhealthy. It's perfectly fine to love groups and their members and to engage in healthy aspects of parasocial relations, but also keep in mind the industry that governs them has their eye on a prize which is money and popularity, and a great way to keep people around is to attach them to an idol or group to an unhealthy degree. I encourage everyone to enjoy kpop to their fullest, but make sure you're never putting these people above yourself, your mental health and your financial security lol. cuz the industry will take advantage of those with a "weaker" resolve.

Oof, you hit the nail right on the head at 18:37 when you talked about toxic parasocial relationships. There are some really wild ones, and BTS's fandom ARMY are probably the worst for that. BTS get followed to the gym, chased down the street, followed to the car dealership, stalked, etc. Their personal info gets stolen and sold. Fans decide for themselves that a member drinks too much (korea is a drinking culture) and nag them about it. They decide for themselves that said member has lost weight and send food to their private homes. There is absolutely NO REASON for fans to know where our idols live. But because the line of communication and the level of connection between fans and idols in Kpop is so open, the parasocial relationships that develop are dangerous. There have been a couple of kpop suicides within the last few years that were direct results of fans having too much access to their idols lives and attention and bullying them for things that shouldn't have been our business in the first place.

I have been ATINY for almost three years now. I have a watched a few reactions to this guide, but your reaction is the best. I love how unfiltered it is and it feel likes an authentic reaction to this group how are the biggest wreckers in Kpop. So just a little background on Big Hit, as you already figured, they are BTS' company. And what's interesting is that Ateez's story mirror theirs in a lot of fascinating ways! Big Hit and KQ were very small struggling companies, very much underdogs in the huge kpop industry dominated big Big Three (SM, JYP, YG), both used extensive storyline (BTS in the middle of their career, and Ateez is ongoing from the beginning) with intricate lore and a lot of their b-side tracks focus on mental health etc.
What's also important to know is that Wooyoung is a VERY big BTS fan. So it's extra big deal that he left Big Hit, the company of his idols, to follow Yeosang. Both of them were not good fit as by that time (around 2017) BTS was taking off and the BH was growing and the training was notoriously vigorous and a little bit indifferent (not unlike the one at JYP). Wooyoung and Yeosang both liked close-knit community at KQ much better as it had more personal and warm touch.
Trainees at BH who stayed there come to be TXT so that's why Wooyoung is besties with Yeonjun (and the rest of members), bc they trained together. Also fun fact: Yeonjun was San's schoolmate before he even met Wooyoung, what a small world!

Parasocial relationship is big issue in kpop, many of the idols can't even date publicly. JYP (skz company) even has dating ban to their artists. some fans even asked idols who were caught dating to be kicked out of the group

@@TrolltekOfficial I think it's important to be aware that the kpop industry has an active goal of enabling and encouraging parasocial relationships to a high degree, and to the point of being toxic and unhealthy. It's perfectly fine to love groups and their members and to engage in healthy aspects of parasocial relations, but also keep in mind the industry that governs them has their eye on a prize which is money and popularity, and a great way to keep people around is to attach them to an idol or group to an unhealthy degree. I encourage everyone to enjoy kpop to their fullest, but make sure you're never putting these people above yourself, your mental health and your financial security lol. cuz the industry will take advantage of those with a "weaker" resolve.

Oof, you hit the nail right on the head at 18:37 when you talked about toxic parasocial relationships. There are some really wild ones, and BTS's fandom ARMY are probably the worst for that. BTS get followed to the gym, chased down the street, followed to the car dealership, stalked, etc. Their personal info gets stolen and sold. Fans decide for themselves that a member drinks too much (korea is a drinking culture) and nag them about it. They decide for themselves that said member has lost weight and send food to their private homes. There is absolutely NO REASON for fans to know where our idols live. But because the line of communication and the level of connection between fans and idols in Kpop is so open, the parasocial relationships that develop are dangerous. There have been a couple of kpop suicides within the last few years that were direct results of fans having too much access to their idols lives and attention and bullying them for things that shouldn't have been our business in the first place.
Absolute madness. See, that's why sometimes a good kick to the throat is necessary. Fuck those types of fans.

I have been ATINY for almost three years now. I have a watched a few reactions to this guide, but your reaction is the best. I love how unfiltered it is and it feel likes an authentic reaction to this group how are the biggest wreckers in Kpop. I am doubled bias with San and Yoesang, while the rest just are on a wrecker rotation. Anyways just wanted to let you know that I love this reaction.
