There are several explanations on TH-cam, but you are the only one to mention the measurement from inside elbow to trigger finger. Thank you again!
Sorry thats incorrect, Never measure that way, Bad Habits are hard to break!! This is the correct way, measure 5 3/4" back from the trigger; shoulder the firearm, mark where your nose touches the stock. If your nose is in front of the 5 3/4" mark, add that amount to the stock length, if behind the mark subtract that amount from the stock length. Don't forget to include the recoil pad. Good luck

Thanks but that will work well for a a modern fire Arm. Bad for a Long Rifle. We can argue but best if we just disagree.
