there's a whole lot of people we need to be thankful to, those who make sure we stay healthy, both the doctors and nurses, as well as the cleaning crew... also the people who make sure there's stuff on the shelves in the supermarkets so that we can stock our supplies after all the panic buying that's been going on... and literally just everyone who has t keep working so that we can actually live through all this. I love that postmates offered gift cards to everyone on her floor too! Her floor is in a unique situation a lot of healthcare workers are finding themselves in- it is way, way different to work a floor like cardio than it is working in the ICU, and so many of these Covid patients in hospital are basically ICU patients. Since ICUs are so overwhelmed, people who have never trained in that area, except maybe in a rotation back in school, are suddenly working with this very, very critically ill patients. They're seeing so many more codes and death than they have ever seen(even that ICU and ER workers ever see). Even healthcare workers who work outside the hospital are being relocated into the hospital and are just thrown into it. I can't imagine how overwhelming and frightening that is, let alone with the threat of getting sick yourself!

Next year I don’t want to hear about the Oscar’s, Emmy, Grammy, BAFTA’s, Golden globes, Femina, IIFA awards...don’t want to see a single actor, actress, singer, celebrity or sports person on any red carpet!! Next year I would like to see nurses, doctors, ambulance crew, hospital cleaners, carers, support workers, shop workers, teachers & their assistants and delivery/lorry drivers having free red carpet parties 🎉 💃🏻🕺🏻with awards and expensive goodie bags. The people keeping this world over ticking and working to fight this pandemic! I've been a nurse for ten years, now a charge nurse on a Medical Surgical and oncology floor. Everything has converted to COVID and it freaks me out caring for cancer patients and COVID patients at the same time. I hope I can stay healthy and I'm very thankful for my husband being able to work right now, too. Thanks to all my fellow essential workers!!

I wish something like this could happen for my wife...she's not a nurse, but works at a retail pharmacy chain. As the manager, she is covering down for employees that are sick or high risk and working so many hours right now. Our family is at greater risk so her company can turn a profit, although she doesn't look at it that way! A little humility goes a long way, people are rude to her and the other employees...I understand some people are scared, but don't take it out on those that are working so you can get the things to help keep you safe! You are also putting them at risk by going shopping!

Dave's Drone: I’m sorry your wife and family are going through this. It’s long been true, sadly, that any retail job comes with its share of badly behaved, disrespectful customers. If she can’t afford to quit, and isn’t being paid more during this Pandemic, then she’ll need whatever support you can give her; and it sounds like you are a supportive husband, concerned about her and your family. Whether required by her employer or not, I hope she’s taking every precaution possible. I have no choice but to go out once a week to buy food. (I’m disabled and without family). Today I wore both disposable gloves AND a mask. Each week, I look forward to talking to the great staff at “my” store, who will begin to wear masks tomorrow. I live in a nursing rehabilitation center and I can't tell you how thankful I am. We here have had two confirmed cases. Our adminstration still comes everyday. Hero's go out to our healthcare workers for sure. Thank you Jimmy for shedding light on the medical field
Stay safe! When I first heard of this virus my heart went to Nursing homes and facilities. Thank for you for caring for Senior's at time they need it most. We have outbreaks at over 10 homes where I live. Many are memory care facilities and that makes it all the more heart wrenching. The state has been quite but local and national news journalist are doing they're best to cover it.
Jen is so cute, she’s blowing kisses to Kimball and genuinely cares about her well-being. She asks her about how she is feeling and about her kids. I wish something like this could happen for my wife...she's not a nurse, but works at a retail pharmacy chain. As the manager, she is covering down for employees that are sick or high risk and working so many hours right now. Our family is at greater risk so her company can turn a profit, although she doesn't look at it that way! A little humility goes a long way, people are rude to her and the other employees...I understand some people are scared, but don't take it out on those that are working so you can get the things to help keep you safe! You are also putting them at risk by going shopping!

Dave's Drone: I’m sorry your wife and family are going through this. It’s long been true, sadly, that any retail job comes with its share of badly behaved, disrespectful customers. If she can’t afford to quit, and isn’t being paid more during this Pandemic, then she’ll need whatever support you can give her; and it sounds like you are a supportive husband, concerned about her and your family. Whether required by her employer or not, I hope she’s taking every precaution possible.
I have no choice but to go out once a week to buy food. (I’m disabled and without family). Today I wore both disposable gloves AND a mask. Each week, I look forward to talking to the great staff at “my” store, who will begin to wear masks tomorrow. They’ve just had a $2.00 per hour pay bump, which I was happy to hear; they not only work hard but are unfailingly polite and helpful.

It does work that way to some extent, and has always been my practice. People who keep such a positive attitude have been shown to fare better (a bit) statistically than those without. There was an interesting study many years ago where results of double blind drug studies were compared to people who received neither the drug, nor the placebo, and almost invariably, the placebo group fared better than the control group that got neither.

I live in a nursing rehabilitation center and I can't tell you how thankful I am. We here have had two confirmed cases. Our adminstration still comes everyday. Hero's go out to our healthcare workers for sure. Thank you Jimmy for shedding light on the medical field
Stay safe! When I first heard of this virus my heart went to Nursing homes and facilities. Thank for you for caring for Senior's at time they need it most. We have outbreaks at over 10 homes where I live. Many are memory care facilities and that makes it all the more heart wrenching. The state has been quite but local and national news journalist are doing they're best to cover it.
