I just wish Vince woukd have more of himself in the NFL. The man had ot all and just wasted it by sheer too much ego. DAMN. Maybe Erligher has to come back to 15 years later. Let's show an.. We're Back. HOOK EM'
Just a machine of a team!! Charles was jus a true freshman and he dominated. I forgot how dominate Ramonce Taylor was... God that was such a great year. Our D was killer too!! Team was stacked with NFL players n keep in mind charles n finley came out early. I truly believe the greatest college team in history!!! Hookem!!
The best player arguably to ever play during the BCS era, a top 5 running back in the backfield in the NFL, a pro Wider Receiver and a veteran offensive line. Romance Taylor was amazing and could've done big things, but he got in trouble. Every single starting DB on that team plays in the NFL, and the Thorpe winner to go along with it. Great D-Line and Linebackers. I'm telling you guys, I really do believe this was the best college football team of all time. While I respect the 2001 Miami team and all their players success in the NFL, This 2005 Texas team would've matched Miami man to man if they ever played.
Stop, they were nowhere close to the '01 Canes, that's just beyond stupid, by a "pro WR" you're talking about Limas Sweed, who wouldn't have been the third best pass catcher on the Canes
pats4lifebb Although the stats of Texas don't match up completely to Miami's, their accomplishments that season still stacks up quite nicely. That year Texas dominated almost every team they played. It also included the key win against #4 Ohio St. at Columbus which is not an easy task for visiting teams. And the 70-3 win against Colorado (was over before the second half the game) was the most lopsided score in a championship game. Lastly, the win against the then 2x defending AP national champions, USC (ESPN prematurely calling the Greatest Team ever) is self explanatory.
pats4lifebb Holy shit that was quick lol do you have a life? No ones mad buddy, if anything, you're the one whose made for me making a bold statement that's not mainstream. Texas went 13-0 beating another team who would've been considered as one of the best ever, y'all beat Nebraska. There's many cases for Miami, and cases for Texas. Your ignorance and lack of college football knowledge doesn't comprehend anything outside of the norm. Now get you no life having ass out of my comments. Lol you haven't comment since August and comment in like 5 minutes. Of course you're a Pats fan. It makes perfect sense for someone like you.
I still think this is one of the best, if not the best, football teams of all time. They were such a complete team on both sides of the ball. I really hope Texas can get back to this level of talent soon. The last few years have been rough. HOOK'EM HORNS!!!
Been watching The Season on the longhorn network and I've just gotten so hyped watching this squad. This is BY FAR the best ever college football team in the history of NCAAFB. Vince Young was a killer QB, and Mack Brown was a hella good coach! I believe Swoopes and Strong can work magic for us, and maybe we can be Texas Football again! But Hook Em!!!
Would have lived to see Charlie Strong do good things and Texas. Cards were stacked against him. Tom Herman not extended to 2023. We should and better she a National Championship. I am looking at 2019 2021 at the latest.
What a game! Went to bed in last quarter so I could get up by 4:30; when I went to shave that dark morning, my 2-degrees from Texas wife had posted a sticky on the mirror: “Texas fight! Texas fight...!” No need for anything else. I could feel the depression that sat over the Trojans as I drove past USC that morning! We will never forget Vince and the rest of that Longhorn team. What an ending!
This will always be my favorite squad. They r the best underrated championship team eva if coach strong puts a team together half as good. Lol lookout texas will reign again
This team is truly elite. LSU 19, Bama 20, Miami 01 and Nebraska 95 are in the same category. What differentiates this team from the others is when you played the others, you knew what they were, they made less mistakes and got every point they could. This team, had similar results to those teams despite mistakes, fumbles, etc and it still felt like they left two or three scores on the table every game. I have never seen a team that capable
If this team was called for targeting by today's rules, they wouldn't have been undefeated. Half the starting players would be missing in games at any one time. I guess the storied life of Vince Young mirrored the future of the program.
Wow what a year, what a team! Should have shown Jamaal Charles 80 yrd run vs Choklahoma but other then that great vid. Every game that year there was a special play that you talked about all week. Hook Em \\m//
Out of any team this is my alltime favorite squad. I remember using texas all summer as ncaaf team on xbox before the season started. Stomped every body they were mad until the season started 🤣
Love this entire clip, but it's missing the Justin Zwick fumble when Drew Kelson got him and Robison picked it up. That play shut the door on that game, and I'm not sure I've seen a more excited sideline than that play. Might be my favorite play from that season.
Vince Young, 4-headed monster running backs (Jamaal Charles, Selvin Young, Ramonce Taylor, Menton), sure-hand receivers group (sweed, thomas, etc), very strong offensive and defensive linemen, physical linebackers and very deep secondary (4 are 1st and 2nd rounders), along with averaged kicker and punter. Special team is one of the best in nation with returning and blocking skills...well, who can beat 2005 longhorns? I can't think of any other team that completed as that longhorns team.
I wish all of the great athletes(football/basketball) would stay and play all 4/5 yrs of college! Well atleast until they help the team win the championship. I remember longhorn basketball recruited sum of the best players(Aldridge, Durant, Ford, Augustine etc) but they never got the chance to play together because Aldridge and Durant went 1 n done I believe. That would've been a hard squad to stop
Had Vince not won the championship I believe he would've came back for another year but then again with people/agents/NFL teams in your ear talking about money it's kinda hard to pass that up lol
I wish Melton didn't convert to dtackle at the pro level. Probably would have been the next Jerome Bettis if they let him run the ball. Dude was a man amongst boys when he got the ball.
I was at the 84 cotton Bowl against Georgia. 10-9 lost national championship. I was at 01 big12 against Colorado...simms. I was. Was there 66-7 against UCLA! But when we took OU out behind the woodshed ruckus senior year.. Beat #5 Nebraska team in Austin in 04. And this 52-10 tech beat down then steam rolled everyone else. It wasn't. Coaching It Was Mack just decided to keep Texas kids in TEXAS it took $. But when. Your QB HAS HEART... SUN COMES OUT...
Stats: Offense PPG: Texas: 50.2. Auburn 41.6 Offense YPG: Texas: 520. Auburn: 499. Defense PPG: Texas: 14.6. Auburn: 24.5. Defense YPG: Texas: 280.6. Auburn: 362.2. Texas CLEARLY dominates Auburn. They broke the record for point scored in a season (They scored 42 more points than Auburn despite playing 1 less game. You are wrong in this argument.

"Fourth down and five, the national championship on the line."
Still gives me chills.
ModanoTheBest Robert Harvey love community rock star
ModanoTheBest This was the greatest game that Keith Jackson ever called
I don’t know whose call I like more. Craig Way the voice of the Longhorns call was pretty great! Hook ‘Em!!

That shot of McCoy and Young throwing before Texas Tech made me smile. From 04-09 was an amazing ride.
Right one hell of a ride
I'd give anything to have a decade like '98-09
TexBoy get ready for it, it’s coming soon.
LMAO at the baylor game. "This is going to be a good one" Final score 62-0
I thought it was good 🤪
So much talent and speed! And brutally physical at the same time...this team was unreal!
One of the greatest years for texas football!!
Bobby White I think it was the greatest.
Yessir
Best college team ever.
2009 Alabama squad would eat these fools alive
2002 Miami Hurricanes as well
Danny Wilson Jr. trippin about getting eaten alive
Danny Wilson Jr. 2009 alabama almost lost to a backup freshman QB that threw 4 picks in the natty lmao not even close
@@d.wil2x 😂😂😂 Good one 🤘
Cody Glass
Were you born after 2000? The 2002 Miami Hurricanes squad literally had 22 future NFL STARS 😂 and 3 HOFs

Ribulose Bisphosphate Don't bother bro, he's just following the mainstream in calling Miami #1, and taking offense to anyone saying otherwise.
Isaac Gomez lol, I don't even like Miami, just pointing out how stupid it is to compare Texas to the 01 Canes, no need to be mad tbh,
pats4lifebb Holy shit that was quick lol do you have a life? No ones mad buddy, if anything, you're the one whose made for me making a bold statement that's not mainstream. If this team were forever young....they would still be undefeated..simply the greatest college ever....can't believe this was almost 20 years ago....
So proud to be a Longhorn. Let’s hope Herman gets us back on top...soon
This year we will be perfect with all of our #1 recruits
TheStopSine you were saying lol???...........
Muddy Waters aged terribly 😭😭😭😔😔
These are coach strong recruits I can’t wait to see how terrible Herman does without coach strong recruits
This was a hell of game, and I still remember it to this day.
Jamal Charles... What a beast! I remember how awesome that season was!!
Each phase was on a different level. Offense, defense and special teams were remarkable.

This is the best Texas vid I can rewatch this everyday I don’t get sick of watching it
a walk down memory lane. Hook Em Horns for life. great video
Thank you so much for this video. You just brought back our good memories in 2005.
Really hope we get back to being a national championship team...
Chiken1012 give it time. Every great team always has a decade where they have a slump. The 2020s will be a lot better
HOOK EM' . Erligher was born to take us there.
I know but this season if it is not cancelled we will be really good
@@thestopsine82 this aged quickly #BOOMERSOONER
Probably one of the best seasons if not the best season in Texas Football history!
People forget how dominating this team was on both sides it
Undisputedly the most perfect season Texas has had in history!!! The best NC game party I've had ever!! haha
Holy shit. Texas was so good

I don't think any team in history could beat this team. \m/
2001 ohio state would be good game
1995 Nebraska would beat 2005 Texas by at least 2 TD's
2009 Alabama
@@d.wil2x fat chance lol, the 09 team wasn't even comparable to 05's B-team.

this team was so loaded, top to bottom.
Best. Video. Ever.
Never realized that big play potential on special teams and the physicality of our defense
Wow.. Nice trip down memory lane
I really hope we can get back to this kind of play, this kind of dominance

I remember taking a picture with Jamal Charles and his mom and grandma at a local walmart when i was about 4 or 5
Awesome. thank you and hook'em.
Even though I am a die hard duck fan. I loved watching this longhorns team. That season was a masterpiece for the horns.

Yeah, I also wish I kept the Reggie Bush fumble. I cut it down from 20 minutes so I had to lose some favorites.
Happiest day of my life until my daughter Austin was born..
"They're impressed but they've been to nice places before." Pure class
Two Thorpe award winners, a guy who should have been a Heisman winner, jamaal in the backfield. Twelve all Americans. What a team
Most amazing bowl game I've ever seen. Hook'em.
TEXAS LONGHORNS

70pts after 3 quarters in a conference championship game is crazy

Funny when the guy said this will be fun haha during the Texas vs Balor game.. 9:21 😂 😂 😂
2005 Texas Longhorns aka Greater Houston Allstar Squad....aka the reason they shunned UH....aka...the reason why they left the Big 12.
I wished he would've stayed and played his senior year instead of going to the NFL.

I believe it was 28-12 at halftime after we hit a FG on the final play of the 2nd quarter.

Greatest CFB team of all time

That's DBU squad right there 🤘🤘
All great players but Dave Thomas was the key in my opinion.
Defense Was Krazy That Year
it does show that
I don’t know if this is a record but Texas beat Colorado 70-3 in a big 12 championship that is not normal
What a "sweet" year! Hook 'em!

What the hell happened to Ramonce Taylor?
Romance got booted from the team because he caught a charge...was hoping he would come back after that got settled but he never did .
He now works for a private school in texas as a coach.
Plays for the Texas Revolution in Allen, TX. It's an indoor football league team.
If I go slow I can usually last until the part where Rhett Bhomar is writhing in pain on the ground
Should put that team back to together and make it a team in the nfl
Was that big 12 championship even actually a championship lol, that was a blowout
HOOK 'EM!
