Like his sudden interest in his own state's people with some quick video over pollution. That really upset me as a citizen who has been following the people of East Palestine since last year. A few weeks before Trump was elected president, Vance sat down for a lengthy interview with Charlie Rose in which he tried to explain the motivation behind White working-class voters like the ones with whom he grew up.
Vance told Rose that voter attraction to Trump was driven not by “any special quality of Donald Trump himself, but of the fact that folks feel very resentful at the media establishment, the political establishment, the financial establishment and so forth.”
He also said he did not believe there were enough White working-class voters to elect Trump but cautioned that telling those voters Trump was a “terrible candidate” would backfire.
“I’m a ‘Never Trump’ guy. I never liked him,” Vance told Rose. “But I noticed this willingness from people who think a lot like I do that, look, we told you so. … The problem is if you take that attitude as sort of gloating over Trump’s defeat, then you’re playing into the very thing that gave rise to Trump in the first place, which is a feeling that the elites think that they are smarter than you and just think you’re a bunch of idiots.”
A “cynical asshole” or “America’s Hitler.”
In February 2016, Vance sent a message to his former law school roommate, Josh McLaurin, that McLaurin has recounted publicly. In it, Vance said he went “back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,” according to a screenshot McLaurin shared on social media in 2022 when Vance was running for Senate in Ohio.
“I never could have dreamed during those exchanges in 2016 that he would end up being one of the principal reinforcers of Trumpism only a few years later,” said McLaurin, who is now a Democratic state senator in Georgia. McLaurin warned in an interview earlier this month that Vance might be Trump’s “most dangerous” pick as someone who would double down on Trump’s vitriol and retribution. He cited Vance’s ability to identify and connect with the anger felt by the MAGA base and how he wielded that skill to get elected and campaign for Trump.

I’m one of those disabled veterans living in rural America. Without the Community Care program the VA has, thanks to the Trump administration, I wouldn’t be able to receive most healthcare because we couldn’t afford the gas to get there and back and my wife didn’t have the PTO to take a whole day off work to take me. It’s 2 hours to the nearest VA hospital that’s so understaffed it’s sad. Little over an hour to the VA clinic. But now I’m covered at my local hospital and their urgent care network. I’m also now able to get dental work and vision done locally.
Thank you to every vet that has served. I have volunteered at my vfw and American legion in Maryland for years. God bless every vet that served and gave all.

I have worked with the VA for almost 20 years now and I was part of the mission act which was for community care for veterans it was the most exciting project I've ever worked on and I am so proud of what we did to allow veterans to be able to go to Healthcare in their communities if that was the closest thing to happen. So thank you president Trump you did one of the best things in the world for the veteran.

I was blessed to be able to serve my country, and part of that service was with the marines. I am so delighted to see a veteran run for VP. God bless America.

Walz needs to apologize to every service member, veteran and the electorate for his stolen valor, which he used to advance his political career, due to his lying about carrying a weapon in war when he was never in an active combat area (the only out of USA posting he had was in Vicenza Italy, which is not an active combat area) and lying about being a retired Command Sergeant Major (a position he temporarily held until he decided to leave the military as soon as he found out his unit was being deployed to Iraq) when he was in fact simply retired as a Master Sergeant, even though his official biography still states he is a retired Command Sergeant Major and he is on video, multiple times, continuing these lies. Tim Walz had a long and honorable 24 year career in the National Guard, and he did not need to embellish that career for his own self benefit.

You need to get your priorities straight. Trump is a huge draft dodger who used his families wealth to get a medical deferment - oh yeah - bone spurs. He has never served his country. But then he goes on to disparage veterans and gold star families. Just this week he claimed that a civilian award is more important than those veterans who caught bullets or died while receiving a Medal of Honor. You can't make this stuff up.

My veteran husband died almost 2 years ago, and He was in and out of the Veterans Hospital for different ailments....and they treated him like he was their own, I was so loved by them also, and I felt their care .
