ok jay didn’t say anything about the kraken but I think ITS GENIUS. Having a sub to help the naut’s weakness but then having a special that exasperates it imo is exactly what makes this a good kit. Like if you use kraken and over exert in high level play you won’t be able to survive because torpedo won’t save you up close. I also love torpedo in general because while it covers a weakness, it doesn’t nullify it. Players won’t be as inclined to push head on towards nautilus, which is one of its main weaknesses, and instead will want to either use their weapons unique play style to combat it, being either flanking, outranging, or just denying it area to push. Nautilus already is the type of weapon that wants to go in prepared, and torpedo is perfect for forcing it to still plan while covering its weaknesses, and kraken is extremely punishable if used incorrectly, especially on nautilus, so t going in prepared is still needed. This kit is overall perfect for playing to nautilus’ play style, while overall just being fun to play casually as well. Great work jay!
I'd like to hear your response to my comment. I like your analysis, but I have one pushback on this idea: the weapon's range. Nautilus is naturally a very strong weapon, and we have to consider how other players may feel about such a kit. A more balanced version of this would be if goo tuber or squiffer had received that kind of kit. Squiffer had already received a similar kit back in splatoon 1 with a suction bomb and kraken. Squiffer did see competitive use but was outmatched by other weapons in Splatoon 1's meta. Splatoon 3 did attempt at that idea with goo tuber giving it ultra stamp and a bomb, but of course without ink armor from splatoon 2 or some type of invincibility, ultra stamp simply isn’t strong enough and wouldn't be used. While I understand that some would say "but squiffer got a bomb and zipcaster," and while that's a fair, it is rather mute point. Zipcaster is too hard to use both casually and competitively since it doesn't paint well and the area of effect is small. Outside of a few funny MLG clips, squiffer would suck in almost every other way.
I don't know much about naut but in the days of kraken cheese I played kraken heavy and that was honestly one of my least favorite kits of all time. I guess naut is a lot more agressive than heavy but like, I still don't see it.
@@a-ramenartist9734 naut is aggressive but can be easily punished, and kraken is much more punishable with a guaranteed kill if misplayed. That’s mainly what makes this good, naut cant instantly come out of kraken and kill like other weapons, making it very weak if not well planned.
@@kristopherhayes1957 @ nautilus is a very strong weapon, but it’s also very kit dependent. It’s struggled in splat 3 because both kits while good on paper have lower tier subs or specials. Nautilus also has heavy (albeit well designed) downsides that keep it from being broken. Nautilus cannot fight on a whim, and if players know to rush it when it has no charge it will struggle to fight back, which this kit does not remove. While this kit COULD be good in casual, it would likely become a situation like with many weapons considered to be op where people in lower ranks dislike it because they don’t realize it’s counters, but once they find out they will rank up quickly. This is how almost all ranks work atm, with low ranked players hating things like clash before countering it and moving to the next meta. For the squiffer argument, while I get squiffer could use a good kit, not every kit needs to appeal towards both audiences. Squiffer isn’t meant to be for comp players, it’s a fun lower stakes charger that is fun for more casual players in general. (Though I don’t deny a comp kit could be fun if done right) Kits like clash blasters and blobs appeal near exclusively towards casual players, being fun and wacky instead of competitively viable. Many comp kits tend to be less interesting from a casual standpoint in general, so most types unless in a good position will stick to being one or the other. This kit is a rare circumstance of being good in both, similar to stamper, which is why I, personally, love it so much.
@Corvidiot_YT I enjoy hearing your words. I do see your point about how the rank system works. However, coming from a player who is in the S and S+ 1 rank who leans more towards backline weapons, most of the weapon choices tend to bleed in/follow the patterns of high-ranking players, but it is just fun enough to see bizarre weapons, play styles, or fun comps. A lot of weapons, like you said, are exclusively for casual players (such as clash blaster), but there are exceptions or times where things can be both fun and competitive. An example of this would be bamboozler. Throughout most of splatoon, this weapon had a lot of fun kits and is currently seen as competitively viable due to the weapon pool in splatoon 3; a solid A+ weapon. Plus, blob lobber did have a time in splatoon 2 where it was competitively viable when it had splat wall and ink storm (which I really wish came back). Plus, currently, the roller is a high-ranking A+ weapon, which never really happened a whole lot due to the wewpon being a sharking weapon! But Natilus was a weapon that needed to be limited. In splatoon 2, it had a suction bomb and ink jet, which were 2 of the best things to have because in casual games, self-reliance is essential since there isn't team coordination. The splatoon UK TH-camr DUDE said that the weapon limits playstyles. That is why in splatoon 3, the nautilus and the dualies received triple splashdown to prevent them from being overbearing. That's why my idea of sqiffer or goo tuber is overall better since it serves similar roles to the Nautilus and has the same, if not worse, weaknesses than the Nautilus because these two other weapons are punished more severely when rushed down or missing their shots. They need a bomb and survivability special much more than Nautilus does, and if Nautilus gets that kit, it would limit playstyles since there is less counter play both casually and competitively. It's all about game balance rather than good kits.

The Sendou-Brian tent shenanigans runs so DEEP that Brian gave his mate’s weapon zip caster so he can finally leave him alone, I’m sobbing 😭 Also, as someone who’s one-tricked tent competitively for 4 years, I think zip on it would be ok; I think the window of opportunity it offers to tent is a little short for it to be good, and tent’s inconsistent damage and speed would not be the best on it but burst bomb would completely make up for the potentially lacklustre special
oh my god I love that Nautilus kit idea, I haven't made Naut part of my rotation (currently Hydra, Heavy, Hedit) but a Naut kit that plays to what makes it good (and it's own risks) would be HELLA fun, and would definitely have a high skill ceiling so people can really mess around with how to set up and keep going with it.
I love the idea of the tent kit but it would likely be SUPER gear dependent. Stamp already has this issue but zip struggles on ink hungry weapons, so I don’t see this weapon getting much without it, unless zip was REALLY cheap but I don’t want to see a tent zip spam meta. It would be super gear dependent, but since ISM effects both the efficiency in and out of zip, I think it'd still be workable. Just, no QR build for this kit 😅
It's range is underappreciated. It exceeds the eliter scope. Yes, things are harder to hit with a sub that tiny if the target's further away, but if you notice, most weapons the sub is on with one or two exceptions are short range. The sub gives the weapon a long range option. Not only can you point other players out from a safer distance than the main weapon would ever normally allow, but it's a free 40 damage that makes them way more prone to getting 1 or 2 shot by you or others. You're better off trying to actually hit them with the sub than simply pointing them out.
@@ShadowSkyXexactly this! It works so well on swig especially combined with ink storm. Easy combo with the vertical flick and can work with the horizontal flick. It also paints feet and walls quickly which help out swig a lot. People joke about it is bad but it’s far from it imo
Bagel's snipewriter, Brian's tent, Dude's H-3, and Pika's reef-lux are genius and I'd love to play these 🥰 We really need inkjet on a dualies in this game lol
My dream kit for the Inkbrush is burst bomb and triple splashdown. Burst because its a relatively cheap sub that can actually paint walls, and triple splash because I feel like it's a pretty decent aggressive special and with the brushes movement you could easily get into good spots to use splashdown
I like all the kits barring flux with strikes because I realized how much flux can get a special without a cooldown, even at 220, though dart does somewhat make that less an issue. I also love the mod usage and the designs all look really good. Huge cudos to who made them. As for what I’d want as a third kit, probably Squiffer with Suction Booyah
I really like these sort of videos where a bunch of different people collab together, it's really nice to see how other people view the weapons and what kits they think would work best with them from their own perspective!
I loved all the kit ideas in this video! There's really so much potential in making fun or more effective kits. The Kiver kit is the most Kiver kit I've ever seen lol. Brian's idea for Tenta Brella and Sendou's idea for Mini are fantastic! I hope in the future, we get more kits like this. Honestly everything in the video would make an incredible line up for sheldon's picks. Great video!
Personally id rather see recycled brella with zip, but also a fizzy bomb since i feel like you could get really creative with it. You can combo and make trails with fizzy, you can pop zipcaster after a fizzy for combos or to get high and shoot a damaged enemy, fire your shield and then pop zip to zip through your shield into enemies, pop up from below with zip and use your shield to block a few shots and maybe then combo with firing it, and you could even fire your shield off mid air to cause a bit of chaos.
I'll throw my hat into the ring with the Foil Recycled Brella. I'm going with Beacon + Wave Breaker for this kit. The current kits both center around taking and holding space; Mk I is a slayer with a bubbler, and Mk II funnels opponents into range with Toxic Mist. This kit goes for a more supportive playstyle, maintaining space while teammates regroup and combo-ing with teammates while protecting them during a push. Maybe not the perfect kit, but definitely a fun one. My other idea was suction bomb + Zipcaster, which would play like a more aggressive version of the Mk II kit.
I ALWAYS wanted a fizzy kraken splatana stamper, it sounds so aggressive with the combo potential and movement tools of fizzy, and kraken as an aggressive special. This can REALLY help with its fighting power, or you can use it to return to safety.
My dream kit is suction bomb triple splashdown on bloblobber. Suction bomb to serve as another area denial tool and to deal damage in high to reach places where bloblobber struggles to hit, and triple splashdown as a last minute panic option when surrounded. Another kit I think would be cool would be burst bomb and big bubbler on undercover. Undercover wants to be harrassing the enemy team's backline, and big bubbler helps tremendously with that. Plus, bubbler serves as a beakon, so having Undercover push its way in and make an opening feels like it would be very fun to play.
I like these ideas for new kits! In my opinion in the case of Tri-Stringer, I like the og kit but if it were the angle shooter instead of toxic mist it would make better synergy with the main weapon AND the killer wail because the angle shooter consumes way less ink and helps with what the og kit is meant to do which is search and support.
Why is no one talking about Gus and his Tri? Like when i tell yall that would be the most horrifiying thing to be rushing you down. Like i love Tri and Gus's kit so much! It would bring even more tri mains into competitive on an even bigger agressive style than the other two buckets!
7:38 I did not consider Burst Bomb's combo with Killer Wail 5.1 but now see its potential. However, I would have preferred a Tri-Slosher with Burst Bombs and Big Bubbler. If a Splat Roller in a Big Bubbler was scary, then a Tri-Slosher in a Big Bubbler would be living shell for opponents.
I DESPERATELY NEED TOXIC MIST BIG BUBBLER BLOBLOBBER Seriously, think about it. Bloblobber tends to have problems getting kills because of its slow projectile speed, which makes it easier to dodge. However, this would not be a problem if your opponent was slowed down and unable to dodge, maybe because of the readily available sub-weapon, Toxic Mist! Then, a Big Bubbler makes sense to me for a few reasons. First, it's so hard to give up on that bubble theming that the Bloblobber already has, Big Bubbler just fits so perfectly! Second, having a shield to protect you while you push into the enemy line, perhaps while using the ever-so-helpful Toxic Mist, would be absolutely incredible! Lastly, Bloblobber is a support weapon, so it's meant to help fellow teammates most of the time, which aligns very nicely with Big Bubbler, since it provides a safe space for teammates to recover. Overall, I think that Toxic Mist and Big Bubbler on Bloblobber would not only push the weapon out of being mid-tier, but also make it something that's worth playing! Obviously it still has some flaws, but Toxic Mist fixes one of its biggest flaws, and Big Bubbler is one of the best supports for Bloblobber, it just doesn't get any better than this! I sincerely hope that if Nintendo EVER does third kits for Splatoon 3, that they will at least give us Toxic Mist Bloblobber, maybe even with a nice Big Bubbler.
I would be scared of that reeflux becoming a strike spammer at lower levels, but it could be cool to see it compete with nsplash and ttek for that role in the meta right now!
These kits would be awesome to play! Honestly my personal wish kit is Hydra Splattling, here’s my idea Hydra Splatling Remix: Sprinkler and Big bubbler A reference to the Splatoon 1 custom Hydra. Able to immediately put ink on the ground with your sub weapon and have a bubble shield with a long ranged weapon just sounds fun and synergetic
I don’t really like mini with beakon tacticooler to be honest. Given the state of tacti weapons it’d have to be competing with nzap and hedit for the role in a comp. If it had a fighting sub, it might have a better chance, but beakon is not that at all. Mini is much more sub dependent than the other splatlings, and I don’t think mini would get many opportunities to set up beakon. Not to mention that I don’t think mini would have the gear space to run the requirements for both beakon and tacti at the same time without sacrificing a lot of the RSU that it needs.
I know for me, my custom Ink Brush kit would be Suction Bomb and Crab Tank since its a perfect combo to set up for ambushes situations especially if they sneak behind enemy lines.
I feel like splat brella would benefit more from burst and zipcaster. Burst is good for mobility and can combo perfectly with the brella, and not only can zipcaster also combo with brella, but the shield can help if you zip to a bad spot or if your recon gets camped.
Something ive never seen anyone try and do is come up with a third kit for carbon roller. obviously you can’t beat the burst bomb but I feel like it would be a fun challenge to try and come close
My dream kit for splatana wiper is auto bomb and wave breaker Wave can help locate people or just give chip dmg to make it a 3 or 2 shot with the normal slashes and auto bomb is there because of how we torpedo is on it already but auto has a similar function with locating, just trades combo for more pressure
As a comp tent player I have mixed feelings about the tent kit. On the one hand, burst bomb would be pretty decent with tent combos n such, but on the other hand zipcaster would be so weird to use properly. Having just one launch and 2-3 shots is rough, and I realistically don't think the shield can do much unless there's someone behind it. A lone shield can just be walked around and ignored by the enemy. Also I'm surprised nobody said splat bomb cooler undercover, that's probably my most wanted kit because undercover is the only brella which is currently unusable in any level of competitive.
I mostly use bamboo and i’d love a more aggressive bamboo kit, maybe burst bomb + zip or inkjet. Fizzy on mk2 is really nice but bamboo really struggles to paint its own feet compared to other chargers and burst would be better for an even faster, more aggressive playstyle while also being able to combo though not as good as fizzy.
Dawg that naut looks so cool... i will say id personally have booyah or inkjet on the kit bc i dont like kraken for naut (especially since we've got heavy deco)
Hi chara I’m a tri slosher main and as I get higher in ranked weapons like explosher and just any chargers are beginning to completely counter me, do you have any tips on how to deal with them??
Any weapon with long endlag is broken the moment it has wail because that shit cancels endlag. Like dynamo would be so broken with wail because it can get moving after it flicks.
One of my favorite weapons has always been the heavy splatling, so I really want a third kit for it. I think the kit I would want for it is Torpedo and Wail

That order Nautilus now makes me think that Order Splatling missed out
I didn't expect JayMoji here, but I'm happy i got to see him HERE of all places
dart-reeflux is a very Pika kit
My thoughts of all Kits.
Any other kit: yep that makes sense to me
Sendous kit: wtf is this
JayMojis kit: sounds fun
I would play vicvillon’s kit in a heartbeat, seems so fun
These are all great kits! I hope some of these will be shown in Splatoon 4 because these are all great ideas assuming proper balancing
Creators picking 3rd kits?! Oooooh I loved the video!! Thanks Chara and all splatoon creators for making this
I really like how you've modded these concepts into the game too
I loved all the kit ideas in this video!
I will die on the hill that tetras with bubble would be so fun
Imagine putting snipewriter in a comp
and saying " yeah, I'm using black pencil"
What a crazy large collab.
These kits are soo good
I NEED THAT REEFLUX NOW AA
Me too
I ALWAYS wanted a fizzy kraken splatana stamper, it sounds so aggressive with the combo potential and movement tools of fizzy, and kraken as an aggressive special. This can REALLY help with its fighting power, or you can use it to return to safety.
that retro tri kit from gus would exponentially increase my gameplay hours in s3. i miss that silly little green bucket and its deadly water balloons
Zip on tent would be super fun even casually
Love this format please more of that, would be really cool
Chase choosing Dousers, Dude choosing Nozzlenose, Vic choosing Machine, and Jay choosing Naut were all on my bingo card
That modded Naut is absolutely gorgeous, and Torp on it would be so much fun!
9:03 I like how it says ??? for the special yet you can literally see it in the top right corner lol
I like these ideas for new kits! In my opinion in the case of Tri-Stringer, I like the og kit but if it were the angle shooter instead of toxic mist it would make better synergy with the main weapon AND the killer wail because the angle shooter consumes way less ink and helps with what the og kit is meant to do which is search and support.
i liked the different designs for the weapons they looked cool!!
if they do return sheldons picks in the third game id love a new big swig kit
Dude knows what's up. Props for not giving H3 a Burst Bomb or something.
To be honest, line marker wouldn't be nearly as bad in the meta if it just got on weapons that could synergies with it.
Also the weapons it is on just aren’t too strong main weapons besides rapid pro. I main swig express which it actually works really well on
@BigPro1123 it sorta works but not entirely. Big swig mainly works because the special weapon helps it
8:59 This is so cool. I don’t even main Nautilus and I’d use it
Why is no one talking about Gus and his Tri?
Gosh that nautilus kit, I'd main that for 3 reasons, the main weapon, kraken and the weapon is just super nice looking
I DESPERATELY NEED TOXIC MIST BIG BUBBLER BLOBLOBBER
Seriously, think about it.
Ooooh, love the kit Chase provided for Dousers as a dualie main myself!
Sendou’s mini kit sounds so incredibly fun omg
Wait zip on tenta Brella kinda gives you the opportunity to perform a pincer attack in Splatoon 😭
I would be scared of that reeflux becoming a strike spammer at lower levels, but it could be cool to see it compete with nsplash and ttek for that role in the meta right now!
these kits are so FUN
man I hope they randomly drop sheldon's picks, we are STARVING.
4:43 I think a better kit would be Dualies Burst Zooka/Kraken would be a better pick since Chase already made an Inkjet dualie kit
These kits would be awesome to play! Honestly my personal wish kit is Hydra Splattling, here’s my idea
Hydra Splatling Remix:
Sprinkler and Big bubbler
A reference to the Splatoon 1 custom Hydra. Able to immediately put ink on the ground with your sub weapon and have a bubble shield with a long ranged weapon just sounds fun and synergetic
I'm not even a brella player and I think tent with zipcaster would be one of the coolest and most fun weapons to have in the game
If any brella gets zip, I think it should be undercover.
Omg is that chase from Freakyay
JAY'S KIT MIGHT BE BETTER THAN '79 IT LOOKS FUN AND THE DESIGN IS AMAZING AND I WOULD BUY IT. Oh and the other kits are cool too I guess.
Something ive never seen anyone try and do is come up with a third kit for carbon roller. obviously you can’t beat the burst bomb but I feel like it would be a fun challenge to try and come close
Torpedo ink jet could be fun
My dream kit for splatana wiper is auto bomb and wave breaker
Wave can help locate people or just give chip dmg to make it a 3 or 2 shot with the normal slashes and auto bomb is there because of how we torpedo is on it already but auto has a similar function with locating, just trades combo for more pressure
I love the rgb lights on the Nautilus lol.
Tent with zipcaster won't work considering how bad its ink efficiency is, you will just throw a shield in a random place and instantly recall.
As a Reeflux main since launch, that kit makes me want to end it all
I mostly use bamboo and i’d love a more aggressive bamboo kit, maybe burst bomb + zip or inkjet. Fizzy on mk2 is really nice but bamboo really struggles to paint its own feet compared to other chargers and burst would be better for an even faster, more aggressive playstyle while also being able to combo though not as good as fizzy.
Okay I LOVE the look of the Nautilus 83!
You just need the Nikolini Bamboozler with sprinkler and zipcaster for the Rainmaker funny strats
I think dread with the tri kit featured could be really good
Dynamo, splash wall, and crab tank, need I say more?
man i want the jaymoji nautilus to be real so bad
Splatbomb and kraken royal undercover
I'm surprised DUDE didn't give H-3 burst bomb + tenta missiles :D
sick video idea, executed well
Try and find someone to do a liter kit or something very odd like big swig. It would be very interesting to see what they pick
woahhh that naut skin is so cool I need it now 🔥
I'd actually kill for Pencil having Line Marker, and I don't even use Pencil, but it would make me use it!
Flanking with tenta brella sounds absolutely ridiculous
You want that shield moving towards the enemy front
You should get in touch with a modder and other comp players to test out custom kits.
I think the kit I would want for it is Torpedo and Wail
i love liking and then seeing the likes going up
I WANT CJ ON THIS
IVE BEEN SAYING ANGLE SHOOTER ON REFFLUX HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL!! Personally i would rather have kraken on it instead but finally i feel seen😭
