dude! thank you so much for showing us that build process! really helped me as i have tried building a few decks but end up with them being weak and underpowered, been thinking i'm just bad but now i see it's more of a process. Really major value add there! thank you!
I really like how the whole message of this video is to tell the patreon subscribers that they picked a bad card to build around and shouldn't have done that
It's not...ALL bad haha, first game there was a good horde, 2 games without drawing it so who can help that, then last game it wasn't good to play immediately but still intimidated them into submission when it finally did come out... But yeah I was thinking on similar lines, RIP
Wow! This is the exact video I asked for! Thank you so much, it was really great seeing your deck building process. I have now learned that i give up on brews way too fast, seeing how many versions you make before you find the right one. Very inspiring and you got a subscriber for life!
I remember when an event was coming up and everybody was playing Field of the Dead, so LVD did a deck building intro for a mono black control deck featuring Massacre Wurm and then proceeded to eat everyone's face. Tl:Dr I think deckbuilding intros are memorable, as well as educational and informative. 😁
The deckbuilding intro was a cool change of pace! I usually skip deck overview just because I figure I can see what the cards' roles are by watching you play them, but this was nice to learn a bit about what other playstyles we DON'T see in the rest of vid. (I know a lot of viewers are watching for tips, not JUST entertainment value so no worries about going back to typical deck intro!)
Wow it’s really neat seeing your deck building process! I can tell how much love and time you put into the decks you bring us to ensure they’re always super spicy! Appreciate you LVD!
Thanks for the great games! I loved seeing your process in this deck being built, it made so much sense to me the way you went about it as I sometimes noticed the same pros and cons.
Been trying it with blood tokens and bag of holding so i can make zombies on opponents turn too. I'm so grateful this video exist, gonna continue to tinker on the deck.
Great advice on deck building. I have been collecting rares to finish off a full set of Dying to Serve. My idea to proc the enchantment on each turn is from Blood tokens. Going for cheap vamps and overpowering with zombie army.
@@Big_Dai Not really. Its useless on turn its played - no doubts in that, but the longer games on, the more problematic this card become. Same with Felidars Retreat.
That's awesome. I just try all kinds of crazy stuff. I had Dollhouse going with this card. I went crazy, made a couple tokens, got distracted by legendary rule, went off course and built a completely different deck.
Narfi the Betrayer King also provides a neat late-game option that can revive himself provided you use snow lands. He buffs all the zombies you make with Dying to Serve.
Really cool deck! Weird that there aren't any better 2 mana looters in standard right now. This seems like a good Runo stormkirk deck, even if he goes against the reanimation plan a little bit to flip himself.
So I'm not complaining about these videos--there have been a ton of incredible, wacky builds over the last month or so--but I super miss your drafts. Are you just not feeling the limited environment for Crimson Vow?
Maybe I'm just a huge Timmy but I really don't like the "Triggers only once each turn" clause. Such an uncreative way to gimp a card. The zombies already come into play tapped. Meanwhile Simic cards be like: "Haha idk draw your deck and throw it all on the table brrrr" Ranting aside you really are a champ for tackling such a unique deckbuilding challenge for your paterons, I guess that's why I never tire of your videos. Every new deck is creative and interesting!
not the first to see, but the first to comment. guess it'll be a good vid, like always. already liked. €: just through the deck building. damn thats amazing. impressiv. amaziv!
What about Dollhouse of Horrors as an additional reanimation outlet? Five mana to get on the board and one mana to activate from then on... Could be quite efficient.
9:30 - tooltip: "Attached - Legend" huh? Funny how Leeches is kind of a trap in how it interacts day/night. The night side is "more powerful" so you want to get it to night, but you can only make sure it becomes night on opponent's turn - which turns off the daybound trigger. Then your opponent can put it back to day, and you have nothing to attack with, so you make it night again and miss the trigger again...
Very informative video about your deck building process LegenVD, gonna try it out later. Also what do you think about adding 2-3 copies of "The Celestus" for another discard outlet, ramp and day-night triggerer.
I really don't think it was a mistake it's not going to impact any format other than standard, other than that it will be a decent EDH finisher for spellslinger decks, but still not even really the best option. Just because a card is really good in standard doesn't mean it's a mistake lol
@@HomeCookinMTG I dunno man, I kind of feel like in commander I auto include Nezahal in blue decks , and will now probably do the same with Hullbreaker.
@@davestier6247 it's certainly good I just don't think it's TOO good. Commander allows crap like Razaketh, which basically just wins the game on the spot. Blue always has a big dumb finisher that's hard to deal with in standard, I remember Aetherling being basically impossible to remove once it hit the table.
@@HomeCookinMTG Generally "auto include in any standard deck with that color" is how they define mistake. Like that's what tends to get banned from standard. Whether Hullbreaker really meets that threshold or not I dunno.
Sonio did an amazing build with this card utilizing magma opus, celestus, thirst for discovery and most importantly bag of holding. Magma allows instant discard while ramping with treasure. Celestus is another great looting outlet allowing lifegain and thrist for discovery is instant interaction. The bag of holding insures you keep everything you discard for later in exile while still letting you trigger dying to serve for your zombies by drawing and discarding a card at instant speed. Wizard class also helps with the looting effects when maxed leveled by allowing you to beef up your zombie tokens with counters everytime you draw a card with thirst for discovery. th-cam.com/video/ovVIAY9Qnps/w-d-xo.html
I would’ve kept the land to be able to hardcast the seven-drop and keep one mana open for Fading Hope, to bounce the Bloodchief Thirst thanks to the Horror. Indeed he does mention something like it in the next few following seconds. Sometimes we have to change line of play when we are presented with new possibilities, it’s not like we have to stick to a plan that doesn’t work anymore.
The fact that you mostly won without the core card of the deck, might say something about the card itself :p .Still, congrats getting wins with that pile!

Great idea to show us the deckbuilding process at the beginning! Thx!
This was awesome! Hands down the best mtg content creator!
Glad you think so!
The deck building process in the beginning was awesome. Thanks.
Adding your build process was so cool and smart. Again, elevating you above other streamers! You rule
Thank you for the insight on deck building!
I really like that you included your deckbuilding process, thanks for that.
Very happy that you included a discussion of the deck design process showing the early versions of the deck, very enlightening!
Glad you enjoyed it!
To hear your thoughts and insight on magic is always a pleasure. thanks for the content !
Excellent video as we the viewers got to dive into your deck building process.
Great discussion about the different deeck-variants at the start of the video! Interesting!

There’s so much value in your deckbuilding process that you could call yourself the Untapped Deck Tracker
There's so much synergy in this comment you could call yourself a deck

That intro was super helpful! And the deck so cool! So sad it's not more competitive
I realized I'd ended up with four Dying to Serve just a few days ago, and I tried briefly to make it work. This video is great inspiration! Thanks!
This is so awesome...no one else is doing this and it is extremely helpful. Keep it up!
This video is funny: "Lets build a deck around a card that doesn't really have an inherently powerful ability."
Still very entertaining as always!
thanks for showing us your process for making the deck!
Great advice on deck building. I have been collecting rares to finish off a full set of Dying to Serve.

Can you combo that with bag of holding?
More punishment from the patrons! 😆 Awesome video, thanks for showing the master at work!
Really cool concept for a deck, and it was cool seeing its evolution
Loved the deck construction walkthrough
I wish Mind Stone were in Standard, so we could see just how quickly in the deckbuilding process LVD deems its inclusion necessary.
Thanks, I didnt know that it became possible to discard/draw with learn :)
Always has been
@@olafthemoose9413 Never noticed 😅
3 of my last 5 prize packs were Dying to Serve. You always seem to give me exactly what I'm looking for.
Dying to Serve is actually pretty intresting choice for a control deck.
It's easy to stick at 3 mana too, not many decks have main deck solutions to it
Zombies come in tapped.. that makes it borderline useless, specially at 3 cmc.
There are better "free" token makers..
