The sound quality depends on the mic head, not the cord .. lol !! My go to mic for most gigs is the Shure SM58, but if I was using a mic for studio work I usually will use the Shure SM7B. Props on pulling off the Spanglish !!!

I don't have a preference as far as type of mic, I like wireless for the basically unlimited movement as far as the receiver can handle, but I like wired for the fact you don't have to worry about batteries and the receiver itself. I mostly use the Sennhieser (fairly certain I spelled that right) e835, which is the basic equivalent to the shire sm58. I have a bunch of sm58s since my dad and I do live sound for events and bands, but I like the e835 because it actually has a completely silent switch. I love that feature because sometimes the mic can catch random sounds and go through the mix, and when I run a studio monitor, I cut it off so I don't get feedback. Question: Do you have a external mixer? Or do you run straight from your DJ mixer to the speakers?

I use a generic Mic I bought from radio shack like 5 years ago for $80. Its sounds awesome, I love it. I have a wireless one I bought from guitar center cost me $250 and I hate it. It sounds like shit.

I understand what you mean about the corded mic but, your restricted behind the booth. However, you are such a great entertainer, you should always have a cordless mic just in case you need to get out into the crowd to amp them up. How do you feel about that? Diverse are complicated, I agree. Maybe you should do a vlog on how to totally overcome that kind of crowd.

I Really think you did a good job dealing with a mixed crowd its more complicated because you have to play multi genres and could lose rhythm and alot of genres are hard to mix so i'm guessing you just dropped must records on the One
I always prefer using a xlr mic as then you have 2x the better quality and if you have a wireless mic you can always get interference and i find more feadback happens as well. But then again personal preference.
I always carry two wired SM58's and my wireless SM58. Then I can wire the one like you have and hand the wireless off if needed. I carry two 15' mic cables and one that's 50'. Lol. My controller can do two mics.

i think you should get a wireless mic but the thing that affects the most is the battery, think of it like this. a wired mic has a stable current well because it is directly wired. the wireless starts off good but the moment the battery starts to drain the sound quality gets poor also. as long as you buy a new battery for every gig, wireless mics should not be a problem.

100% agreed that a wired mic sound better thats true, but i had a wedding that the bride and groom decide to past the mic at each table to give a chance to everybody to greet the bride and groom.. and i had a wired mic at that time.... HORROR!! the XLR cable was always in the way haha!

No to the wireless... Had a grandma hold the mic backwards got frustrated and threw it on the floor... My nice new $600 shure. Take your meds grandma.... I use all Shure SM48's $30-$50 solid as a rock. I have 4 of them. and 400 feet of cable. 2-100's 2-50's 4-25's nice turntable skills.

Great vid as usual. I agree to the wired mics sounding better than wireless. I have a wired that I sometimes use if I'm the only one emceeing. Most times, though, there are 2 people and or an additional person singing (yeah, I know, lol). In those cases I use 2 Audio 2000 wireless mics. They actually sound AWESOME. For a formal I did, an award winning performer, singer, songwriter used them and sounded pretty good.
