What a wise and holy priest this is. His sermon goes right to the root of the problem in the church today. MODERNISM. Objective Truth no longer exists but is dependent on how you feel. That's what they believe.Truth evolves over time. That's another satanic lie they believe. A wise person knows that Truth has NEVER or can NEVER change since God is Truth and God being perfect is unchangeable, praise Him.

Not exactly. The Church Fathers are considered infallible when all taught a point of doctrine unanimously and in consensus with one another. I believe that is what Father Nolan would profess as well.

Infallibility was only proclaimed 2 times by the church and is thee most misunderstood by all. First was the assumption of our Holy Mother. Second was proclaiming Her as thee Immaculate Conception. That's it! Fin! No more!

I know how the church defines infallability. But if you listen to the first four minutes of this priest you'll hear how toxic he is to anything that points in another direction than the direction the church fathers and doctors have pointed. Even if those fathers and doctors by far weren't any experts on the subject. If modern science paints another picture then science is "modernist" and thus evil. Period! Even if we can prove a church father to have been dead wrong on something, this priests position is that we are to accept the church fathers claim over anything else. And since this seems to extend to everything they've said about anything, this makes them infallible. Something he has no basis for and is heretic. But he is pouring honey into the ears of this audience anytime he says "Boooo for science" and "Yaaaay to anything medival".
Peter Carlson I don't think he means to say that absolutely everything the Church fathers ever said is infallible. Unanimous consensus of the Church fathers is what makes something infallible. So separately they are not infallible, but together and in the same sense they are. Because of this, it is not always obvious exactly what is and what isn't to be considered infallible teaching of the Church fathers. But for this reason alone, it would be safer for the sake of ones soul and for the love of God, to believe more rather than less and in more generous sense their teachings.
There are certain questions where science can not properly be applied. Science is not bad but it is not the only way to know and it is not infallible, and the Catholic Church has both power and righ to assert this. If you are concerned about what is and what isn't modernism I think it would be prudent to take your time to go through the syllabus of errors.

When you break bread with Jesus you break bread with Judas. Fr. Nolan should not be surprised. The error is in the interpretation that the Church is all good and all not a part of the Church is bad. That has never been the gospel.
