- There was hardly any wind this day and very little boat traffic so the lake was pretty smooth. I was on a full tank when this was recorded. It has 140 hours on it. When the dream-o-meter on the dash was at 62 the real GPS speed was 54 to 55 mph.
Update: I had a nice Autumn day where I was the only one on the lake, it was like a pane of glass, the wind was at my back, and I was able to hit 65 mph on the on-board speedometer. Unfortunately I did not have the GoPro but if the formula is linear that would mean I hit 58 mph. However, it's all splitting hairs at this point. If the conditions are not optimal you're looking 54 to 55 mph max.
I got a 96 I got for $700 on offer up, put about $300 worth of work and man I tell you this thing runs like a champ!
Yeah I got mine for $600 at an auction and I've never gotten so much enjoyment out of so little money. I may upgrade one day but for the 5 or 6 days a year I get to use it $600 seems like a sweet deal haha
I have a 96 raider with a 760 motor and it’s gotten up to 56 mph on glass
That’s crazy. I have an 1100 raider with a new engine that needs the carbs tuned right. I’ve gps tested my 701 raider at 53 or so. I expected better out of the 1100.
My 95 raider does 64 mph on smooth water, used 2 different gps and same result, my speedometer says 71 but it’s off. It’s a real low hour ski with new carbs.
Pretty excited, a friend is giving me a wave raider 1100. Picking it up tomorrow, hopefully it runs
Does it run if you still have it
@@jaydenthomas3377 yeah haven't had time need to rebuild the carbs and fuel pump
@@jaimereyes7480 ok
I see the MC stickers. Where at in Michigan?
I bored my 96 700 to a 767, hoping to hit 55.
So, 701 and 760 are practically same speed? Could you put different pitch prop?
The older 94-95 waveraider 701 are lighter and have twin carbs the 95 deluxe and 96 plus have a heavier hull.
how do i buy one of those wave raider 1100s?
Look on Facebook
Trim up and get your weight way back on the ski. That’s a 58 mph ski all day. One I’m not a fan of either. The 1100 Raider has hurt me several times. lol
Yeah she's not the most sure-footed wave runner out there. When you're up on plane at 55 a bass fart will almost skip you off haha. I've gotten pretty good at reading the water though... After being flung off at 50 mph a few times.
That makes me want to get my waveraider 1100 in the water and carbs adjusted. Lol
@@scej79 send it!!
HEAD MOUNT?
Is 2 worth 3500? Mint
If you only have one rider each then I would recommend it still. That price sounds okay for two with trailer. Note that the raider cannot carry two passengers because it's not a family pwc it's a racing pwc ;)
@@striker1211 second this, do not try 2 people on this ski. They are wicked skis though and 3500 in mint doesn't sound too bad, but I'd try and get down to the 3000 mark
Telemetry how u do it.
What lake is this?
Grass lake in Jackson
Its insane that this will beat a 2020 ex series
Yeah but to be fair the ex 2020s can ride two people whereas the wave raider sinks haha.
This model sucks so much fuel.
Seen one go 62mph
I love my raider I believe I hit 54 or 56 but my trim is in the middle and I deleted qsts
deleted qsts whats that?
@@cumminsturbo98 quick shift trim system
Mine goes 100 kmph
Do the displays do km/h? That'd be fun to watch the numbers climb faster.
