We have a lot of engines sitting at the shop and we have a lot of cars that have no engines in them. You know what that means. It's time for TH-cam's favorite Honda engine swap game show, WHEEL OF SWAPS! Today's contestant is Honda's J series. As you may know the J series is Honda's biggest engine with six cylinders of VTEC fury. Sounds awesome, but what car would it totally kick ass in? We spin the wheel to pick a car and try it out. The car today is a 1986 Civic Si hatchback. It's a killer retro ride, but will it be able to take a J swap? Time to find out!

Mount the radiator in the trunk with Naca duct plexiglass quarter windows feeding air. Cmon guys you have the F50 on the wheel lol.

That's a tough one. I would want a manual transmission first. I have no idea why the bolt pattern looks like on that block. I wonder if it is the same as the S2000?
@@VTECAcademy I’ve read that it was rumored the s2k was going to get the g series engine before they went with the f so it is very possible that the s2k tranny will work with a g series engine
I appreciate that Brian doesn’t hack up cars just to make something fit. Could you do it, yes, it’s been done. But how many people want to hack theirs cars up in the process? Brian, you’ll have to find another motor to take down my CRX. That cars been chasing mine since the mid 90s 😂

I wonder how it would fit into a 1st gen 86-89 acura integra. It has more space under the hood and car weighs around 2500 lbs. I have an 89 integra. I wonder if it would be a cheaper swap than a K-series.
We need updates on a 01-05 civic j swap. Or even the RSX/EP3

Lol what if it was right hand drive in Australia, would it clear the steering rake and if you did put it in with pin bonnet clips would there 3room for a radiator. It would be still a sweet ride for the street.

Yes, they do. The real issue is the lack of ground clearance.

If you wanted to really do it you'd buy a donor Honda Odyssey and cut and weld the entire front end. The measurements are much different.
J swap crv would be dope

J element is possible and would be amazing.
Yeah, I want to swap one into the second gen CRV, which would be the same as J. If you want FWD, you could just use Hasport EKJ1 kit.

Can you put the engine in the middle of the car and make it mid engine rwd? There are tons of space back there for the engine to fit.
I got an old 2001 Acura MDX that runs sitting in my driveway. I would love to do something strange with the engine!
