Making a Leather Apple Airpod Case (with Pattern!)
Kayleena got a set of Airpods so she made up a nice simple case design that has a lot of functionality! This DIY leather case for Apple Airpods can be made with very little leather, and features both an optional clip and a charge port. In this video we make one using Weaver's new Sao Paulo leather in Cactus with solid brass trim.

just want to start by saying thank you. you guys have inspired me to start making my own wallets and such for my chainmaille business. Im a Chef by trade so i geek out on the details. like stitching to finish around the zipper part of a zipper pouch on a long wallet. adding fabric to the inside of a wallet. the attentions to detail that i personally struggle to find the right inspiration for.
still waiting anxiously for that huge long wallet pattern.

Just finished making this with your pattern and Wickett & Craig English Bridle in Navy from Buckleguy. I used a stud/button instead of a snap. Turned out perfect. Thanks for the great patterns and videos.
Cool, these are for the AirPod PROs. Which I didn’t realize until I made it and tried to give it to my son as a gift to go with his AirPods he just got.
That said, these turned out nice. They were easier to make (following the video) than either of the AirPod case patterns I tried.

Do you use the same stitching chisel size for all projects? What's your go-to size?
Will the pattern work if i use 2.5 mm leather ?
Do y’all do any type of upkeep/maintenance on your stitching chisels? I bought the ones y’all use and I’ve had mine for close to eight months and I’ve noticed it’s getting harder to punch through leather and has a lot of resistance when pulling them out after punching. Any tips/advice or because they’re so well priced is it time to just get a new set?
Put some beeswax on the pointy ends before punching. They'll slide out easier.
What snaps do you use? Mine are to bulky. I need better snaps.

For those who bought the pattern, its for Airpod gen 3, not gen 2. The gen 2 case is much smaller

What grit sandpaper do you use for sanding the little hole?

I'm not an expert by any means, but I would assume they didn't because it isn't necessarily structural like the side stitches are so it's a tiny bit less important than the middle piece. That is just a guess though

I'm no expert by any means, but I think it to be more of a structural integrity thing versus a design thing
At the beginning it was a bit confusing in the direction you were going.

I don t get it - why you put a case around a case ?
I made like that but i avoid using snap button cause some it scratch the surface of the item,
Thats what the extra strap is for, so that there is no direct contact with the Airpods
Yes, i did was different, were using sewing machine, looking for faster to make and easy to reproduce.
