It's noticeable that all of his fans feel he should be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. I imagine if all the extant country vocalists were polled they would agree; most certainly all the deceased ones would!
Just learned of his passing. Condolences to his family and fans. Wayne was responsible for many of Country music's greatest songs. He wrote "The Image Of Me," and "Next In Line," and so many more. R.I.P.

Great song, but a guy would have to have a REALLY understanding wife, AND be out of work or self employed, to be carrying on like this! An entertaining song that moves along nicely. And belongs on the jukebox of every bar, tavern, dive, truck stop, and barbecue shack in the country!

Super singer, no one better than Wayne Kemp. Everything he has ever recorded is a hit in my books. Good country music that we can't get anymore.

Heard this song for the first time in almost 44 yrs last night. I was only 5 when it hit the charts, but I dig it as much today as back in the day.

this song only went to #61 on the country charts in 1969!!!
This song got plenty of air time in WYNK country. A top ten on my list.
