    Thanks for posting. I didn't realise how SMALL the shank was. Doesn't seem like it covered much from a penetration perspective. Many who wear this work around potential puncture hazards - nails, screws, rebar, the list goes on. I'd like to see it cover much more area.
    Cheers

    I’m on my second pair of these. I just learned from this video there is a technical term for scuffing your heels, so I guess I also pronate very badly. Considering going to get a third pair but they’re still comfortable and my back doesn’t hurt yet so I’m gonna hold off. I’ll 100% buy a third pair though, I’ve got them in 8” insulated as well.

    Great set of boots...iam on my 2nd pair after 14 months and iam on and in concrete, dirt, mud, base,gravel, water and uneven surfaces. Iam jumping and climbing on and off my truck all the time. I freaking love this boots.

    I’m on my first pair and they are the most comfortable boots I’ve owned to date! Love em!

    I just bought these boots, and am very impressed with the fit and comfort. The only thing i can think of being an issue is the inside lining at the heel being worn prematurely...due to the stitching being right there...anyone have any issues with this?

    I will swear by the Boondocks. I had a pair for about the same time and loved them. I replaced them with a set of keens tacomas and i missed the comfort of the boondocks so much I just ended up buying another set and retired the keens early.

    Says a lot that the previous owner is replacing them with the same exact pair....

    I just bought these a couple weeks ago. Some heel lift no matter how tight I tie them. Comfort is good, but no where near as comfy as my old Timberland Pro Endurance 6” from 2015, those lasted 3 years.

    Congratulations for your great videos! Should be great if you try a test between boots with goodyear welt and boots with direct molded soles, like the old army ones. Should be great if you could show us which one of the two soles can resist more to fall apart under pressure to see some results about the durability of both boots. I have many army boots with direct molded soles and i think they can keep pretty well against the goodyear welt ones. Could you try to make a video please? What is your opinion if you have any experience of good, old direct molded boots of course, not cheap, fake ones. I found on internet a document from the American army, back in 70s. It says that the traditional goodyear welted boots couldn't last more than 3-4 months in Vietnam, because of the humidity and the hot weather. Instead, the direct molded rubber soled boots, could keep in service for 7-8 months or even more and the cost was way less, that's why they started making only dms boots for the army on that period and later on. Thank you.

      I've read a similar document. The one I was shown was from a company that was working on an adhesive. This would be an awesome topic to cover but my financial backing is not in line yet. Just a rough estimate of how much time it would take in R&D. We are looking at over 100 hours. Then filming, getting samples,ETC ... I keep turning down sponsored ads. Due to the fact of lack of freedom. But, maybe it's time to sell out and step up the game.

      Thanks for your answer. I was thinking just a simple test of second hand boots, that someone could give 'em to you for the test. Maybe using clamps on the sole and clamps on the upper and with a hydraulic system you could try to detach the two pieces and probably to count the force needed to detach the two parts. Should be a really interesting test, even as experimental, without a proper equipment.

    Awesome deconstruction lol, the Chinese have put a lot of technology into these, and it shows. Also what makes these so comfortable is the fact that they are made with a really wide last, so the boot offers plenty of room for your foot to spread out in. When you are carrying weight, or climbing ladders, or doing strenuous activities on your feet, that type of activity makes your feet spread out wider, and this boot is made to confiscate for that. Boots made with a skinnier last may not allow for your feet to spread out naturally during strenuous activities and cause fatigue, until the boot is fully broken in and molded to the natural shape of your foot. Also the wider last that makes the boot start off wider, helps virtually eliminate a break in period, they use super soft, flexible, pliable leathers, and rubber, to make the boot very soft and comfortable right out of the box with no break in period. The bad side to this boot is it’s a throw away boot, using the 3/4 welted and cemented heel, does not allow for this boot to be resoled like you said, so once this boot wears out in the land fill it goes. The other bad part about this boot is it’s made in China, it makes the boot more affordable, but it also hinders the quality aspect in my opinion, and the fact that the Chinese have mastered the art of making a waterproof bootie for work boots and we haven’t, who else is timberland gonna turn to to make a waterproof work boot.

      They are made in Bangladesh, this is as of September 2022 so maybe they made them in China in the past? But not anymore

    What's the size and weight of the boot. I hear they are heavy, but comfy. Thinking about these now. I'm getting size 13. Heavy? Will they be good all day on concrete

    They looked more than a clown boots i wish if they can make them all in one color

    • @jlhalley
      @jlhalley 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrNext2000 they have a model that is all one color but it doesn’t have the extra padding around the ankle and it was extremely uncomfortable when tied. I traded it back in for my clown shoe boot. Comfort over looks any day of the week.

    How comfortable are the boondocks compared to a pair of hot shots from nick's?

    • @TheBootGuyreviews
      @TheBootGuyreviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Much more comfortable. If you think in terms of modern foot wear construction and materials. But as the tool that the Hot Shots are. They are different ballparks.

    Was looking foreword to enjoying the video. What a let down. I absolutely hate the no talk format, the music is atrocious, and the god view is a total turn off. I hope this is viewed as constructive feedback. Not truing to hate, just can't stand it.
    As I was typing that, the video was playoing on my TV and then you began to talk and the devil music stopped. The only reason it made it this far was that it was playing in the background while I did other shit. I wonder how many people never made it that far? The video is actually worth watching now.
