  • Great dirt bike riding spot by Brown's Camp Oregon. Back to Back is a single [or double] black diamond route hill climb. From the South side it seems impossible from years of erosion. From the North side it is possible to travel to the top and look down.

Awesome that this hill was attempted. Just saw it for the first time yesterday. It’s a monster.

Glad you got out to see it Jon! I've been needing to get out again on my girl. It is a cool spot with a lot of history I hear. Seems impossible now to get to the top with a dirt bike.

Guy Thorpe yeah, I’m happy I did too. I may attempt it at a later date but I just passed my third weekend riding. I made it up and down the single black diamond hill climb near that back to back hill climb. I don’t recall what hill was called. Super fun though.
We were watching guys attempt it while we were there but no one made it. Maybe it is. But one came pretty close to it.
      What do you ride?

Jon Richards Oh wow! Jumping straight into the deep end ay?
I’m on a 06 Honda CRF250R right now. Very fun, lots of power; turns pretty different than any previous bikes I’ve had tho. Grew up on Yamaha’s. I’m trying to go riding as much as I can this season. Checking out more Moto tracks in the area also they are a hoot.

Jon Richards What are you riding these days?

Guy Thorpe yeah, I did a lot a research on riding, tips and tricks to excel my learning. It has helped out a lot I feel. That hill was big and I don’t think I could of hit it without learning how to hit hills. Hill climbing is fun.
I haven’t done a moto track yet. Maybe I will some day. But the bike I have isn’t a moto bike. Just bought the crf250f. It’s a fun great bike. Nothing really to base it off of other than it hasn’t failed an obstacle yet. I’m sure I will get stopped sooner or later.
The part of riding that had the steepest learning curve for me was riding on roots. Browns camp doesn’t have many root trails that I saw like Winchester trails down near Coos Bay. That is what I learned on the first two weekends. Rough stuff the roots are.
