Beautifully sung by Mrs Homer: no frills, curlicues and furbelows such as are heard nowadays, but just the noble tune, well phrased and humbly interpreted. And how nice to hear a second of the four verses, stanzas that are never sung due to folks not knowing the text. Thank you, Manoli!
Dear Manoli.Your South Carolina's half part is very alive and specially on the fourth of July.Congratulations on your day..And as you always say ,you like to change voices in your presentations. This time a contralto. But not any contralto. One that was once considered by many sopranos one of the most beautiful voices of her time. She married a composer Sidney Homer and became a specialist in Verdi and Wagner.Apparently she sang also outside America but specially in Chicago, California,Boston, she was an active member of the Metropolitan. And then my favourite part,Samuel Barber was her nephew. After that she has all my respect.🎉🎉🎉 The thirties marked the time when she slowly left singing, before starting the Second World War. Patriotism.Well to express it every one can have his or her favourite.Even Whitney Houston was elected to sing the anthem. But this is Manoli S.and here it is Homer.Lovely Manoli. Here in Spain we're not celebrating anything. But it fills me with joy and happiness to have heard this and I toast to you all. Interesting Lady. With a nephew to DIE FOR...❤
