You don’t have to like the character, but at least be kind about her struggle. It doesn’t matter where it all stemmed from, no one deserves this. Many people in real life deal with this daily. Has Stephanie’s skid row storyline gotten lost with some of you? That we all walk different paths in life, and we should always strive to uplift/help those who are struggling? Have a heart, no one deserves mental illness or addiction. Granted, the writers handled all of this entirely wrong, but still - do better than they did. It’s not something to laugh at or pick apart.
