A. Shabakouh - Symphony No 2 - Kaveh Süle - Kandinsky symphony orchestra
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 23 ก.พ. 2024
- This is my 2nd symphony it's about several dreams, nightmares and night-terrors that I've been seeing in my sleep since my childhood.
The symphony starts with the 2nd movement, this dream is about the impressionistic movement that non Arab composers portrait in their western European classical music, composers such as Debussy, Rimsky-Korsakov, Sibelius and many more, which makes a dream by itself that Arabic music is very harmonically rich and has colorful orchestration, unfortunately! this is not the case.
Mostly it's monophonic music.
The 1st movement comes later, discussing the dreams, nightmares and night-terrors, these dreams are:
1- Falling from a very high place, in the middle of the sky, until I reach the ground and before I hit it, I wake up.
2- Crawling a dark muddy long tunnel under the ground, being followed by unknown fear, the further I try to escape I feel suffocated and weak, I keep crawling until the darkness take over to pitch black and this fear reaches me.
3- Being followed by huge giant sphere that has pointed sharp object.
4- Flying easily mostly at night, sometimes familiar and sometimes in unfamiliar places, mostly outdoor.
6- Fire dreams, I produce hellfire from my hands while flying, consumed with anger, destroying everything that stops in my way, I show no mercy to anyone, this is the most terrifying vision I see, no one can imagine the frustration I feel when I wake up, because it feels very real, especially that I'm not aggressive and violent person.
These dreams come to me in any order, sometimes I see 2 nightmares at once, and few times the ending changes or get interrupted by something entirely new and unknown to me, the same thing goes for the structure of this symphony, even though there is exposition, development groups and recapitulation, they appear as one unit but also they are totally separate and foreign from each other.
0:41 First movement
08:35 Second movement
