Thanks, appreciate the video. Had a hell of the time with the adhesive glue and it was helpful to see that I wasn't doing something wrong. I ended up getting peeling/cutting the glue down with an exacto knife. As someone else commented I see obvious burn marks by the heat sink and a component I'm assuming is a capacitor. Onto the bump test I guess..
Hi, when you connect the driver cables to the new amp plate do you have to worry about which cable connects to which amp plate "pin" or can the cables connect to either "pin" ?
Im using a PB 1000. Im getting electric shock from the plate amp. This current leak has probably damaged my player to which the sub was connected. I isolated the current bleed to the power supply module of PB1000 plate amp.Im past warranty and needs to get in touch with SVS. No idea how much it’s going to cost me.
Hey my friend, I am completely Lost, because I have the motherboard sta 500d, but i don't have the instructions replacement I would like if you could tell me if the 2 lead with the 2 cables of each one that you remove are connected to the speaker? This is my doubt, I hope you could help me PLS,
What was the core charge and how old is your 2000. I have a 1000 ported and thinking of buying a 2000 pro ported or another 1000. What do you set your volume at on knob.? Two o'clock like me?
Hey Home theater hobby. My SB 2000 just stopped producing sound. Blue light is on, but no sound. Did your sub do the same? I have not contacted SVS, I am still in the 5 year warranty. Did they offer a replacement? Taking this apart is not the ideal solution, as you've shown with the adhesive and such. Paying $800 for 4 years of moderate use (I live in a paper this townhouse) is not so good!
My understanding from talking with SVS is their warranty works by sending you the part first. If that doesn’t fix the issue, they work out a full replacement. I’d call and see what they do, explain the situation, maybe they help. Their service is great so they might.
@@hometheaterhobby9450 Wow, thanks for the quick reply! Hope your well. I'll let you know my outcome. Side note, do you think this sub really sounds that good? I noticed if placed off center at volumes that my 10 year old Mirage 8" can handle, the SVS got "muddy". Placing the SVS near a corner rectified the issue even though this placement is not ideal. Your thoughts?
Evythefish123 my thoughts were the same early on. What I found was my room correction software in the Marantz had incorrectly set the subs performance subpar. I turned it off and have been happy since.
@@hometheaterhobby9450 took it apart as per SVS. The amp is blown. I can actually see part of the board, next to the heat sink where it's dark in color and obviously burnt. We will see...
How did you remove the stuck plate to install the new amp? Did the nail method work and if so, what size head did you use? I'm having to do the same thing with my SB16 and cannot find a nail head small enough to fit through the eyelet and still have enough head left to grip the stuck plate to pull out with the pliers.
Man I really wanted to buy an SVS sub, prob the pb-2000x... but seeing all these amp failures is really freaking me out. Would you guys still recommend buying one?
Chris Schuele we installed an additional unit to balance the sound performance, it sounds fantastic. Considering the sound quality and the support I received on the repair; I feel confident in the product.
Brand Man actually svs when it comes to bass its good, but im having issue right now with my sb2000 it has the blue lights on but the driver is not moving so no bass at all n went back to thr shop 2 times, 1st time using after fixed played 5 song n broken down again so 2nd time was used 2 mnths n again broken down, so i contacted svs in US as i live in hk so now im waiting hows it gona be as they told me to do the bump test first 😓

I have mine low, less than half. Once I updated to an Arcam headend equipment I noticed I didn’t have to use such a high setting.

Their customer service handles the boards.
Can you show how to pull out the amp? I've taken out the 12 screws but it's not coming out. Thanks.
Trying to figure this out as well.
Did you succeed and if, how did you do it, please? I am stuck as well.
@@InjusticeHater once all outer screws are out you can take a pair of pliers to gently pull from one of the power socket prongs
please help me how to order spare parts from SVS manufacturer. I live in Vietnam

I really wished you took I hi-res pictures of the amplifier like the part numbers of the ics and the design of it. thanks for this video.
Yaghiyah Brenner I didn’t think about that. Thanks for the comments. More videos are on the way.
How did you pull the amp out? Mine is stuck in there. Don't want to damage the amp or cabinet by prying it out.
Have you succeeded and if how have u done that? I removed the 12 screws but can´t get the plate off, I already scratched the sides of the plate.

Marquis Holmes very, very, very slowly. Use something like a paper clip to get it started.
Just use a automotive pry tool

How is it working these days? I also need to change my SB-2000. Did they credit your money? Is your subwoofer working good?
Cihan T everything is great, no problems. Yes, the credit took place within 3 days.
No, I did not take the time to look.
My bass on svs sb 2000 cuts out while its playing once in awhile
I’d replace the amp.
Why do the insides of all subwoofers look so beat up? Even if they are new
Fill it with puddy where the glue was lol
seems.the quality on the svs subs is getting less and less. you can use hotglue to secure the connectors. The amp on the 2000 series is junk
