Hey Jeroen, really appreciate the shout out sir! Our son was born a couple of months ago so the TH-cam channel is just on pause for now! Glad to see you had a fun ride at Bang Mot 😁
I'm imagining your ride over the canal as a Temple Run style game. The jungle view along both sides, the maneuvering to avoid motorcycles and people. Added gaps and hole along the path, crocs, dangerous fishes jumping across and maybe bird attacks into imagination. This is a perfect theme for a game of such. "The Khlong Run" 😂😂
We've been enjoying these fun canal paths here in Bangkok since arriving last week. This one is really long though and loving the colors! We'll have to check it out our next time in Bangkok.
I was born in Bangmod. When I was young my family have “orange field” and we went to work by using long-tail boat. Orange from Bangmod is very famous named Som Keaw Wan (green sweet orange) .I also was study at that small primary school grade2-6 name Bangmod (tunpao) witayakarn. Very long long time ago. Thank for your video I love it. btw “mod” is ant in Thai so you can see ant icon every where.
@@globaltravelmate Im not very sure about that first there are no any walkway ,just boat ,no road transportation ,later walk way builded for walk and make more convenience. after that cycling come and popular then there big change by project which d like to develop the whole area and community also canal revolution. there are art thing and community work together and that is very good.
This is exactly the side of Bangkok I haven’t seen yet, and I’m so excited to! We’re hoping to get back for a couple of weeks in January, so this is a definite visit!
Thanks so much. Your videos are brilliant. I’m from London and cycle up and down the Thames .but miss Bangkok so much. I love the green mile ride and the new benjakati area take care
Awesome! ... Our neighborhood canal! If you notice the line running along the path, that is where BMA widened the path several years ago, making it much more bike-friendly. The colors were added sometime in the past couple of years. "Bang Mod"... the area used to be covered in fruit orchards, hence the ants. The canalside communities really are a window into the past. At the 20 minute mark you have reached the Southern Ring Road (Kanchanapisek/ Highway 9). Love your videos.
I’m surprised how long it is! Honestly thought it would end soon but seeing how the video isn’t close to be done it just kept going and going! Though Wished more people biked on this instead of using motorbikes would more peaceful with the bells and probably the paint wouldn’t wear off as quickly! Hope the community keeps this place nice for each other! Definitely a spot where others could come and help clean and touch up from time to time! Always uploading Great Videos 👍!
This was cool, as are all your videos. They've motivated me the last year or so. I leave for BKK on Monday. I can't wait to do some of the adventures I've learned on your videos. I started going to Thailand 30 years ago. I never took a klong taxi. It's the first thing on my list to do.
@@globaltravelmate 3 nights BKK trying riverside area after SHA+ 24 hrs. Then Phuket and Khao Lak for 2 weeks then back to BKk 4 days. I've stayed away from Phuket for many years. But no crowds and cheap...gotta do it.
In my opinion, this is the best khlong ride yet😊 At certain parts it looks like you are riding in the middle of the river. Definitely including this to my bucket list 👍🏽
That was really nice. It's amazing how fast we can go from urban jungle to, well, real jungle! I used to live one hour north of Bangkok, but it was like a world away
Another great video Jeroen ☺️ Thanks for the discovery, we live a few minutes from that WAT at the start of your video. Never knew about that trail, I'll definitely go explore that area. Have a great week sir.
What a very nice relaxing ride. Bang Mot should be a recommended path for city cyclists, even the road itself is interesting with all its color and paintings. Thanks for showing us! #GTMTime
Oh, so you're Dutch. I just finished a massive and magisterial 1231 page (including footnotes) tome "The Dutch Republic, Its Rise Greatness and Fall 1447-1806" by Jonathan Israel.I would highly recommend it. You would have to order the book on-line since I am certain no book store in Bangkok would carry this book.
Jeroen, this is very interesting to see for me. I know that area, Bang Mot, Rat Burana and Suksawat very well, but i have never seen this path along this khlong. 🙏
thanks for sharing this, wow, epic, definitely going to do this when I get back there. How many cities can you go to and see the locals with harpoons lol?
The GoPro is definitely a different image to your phone, but it’s not a bad image by any reckoning. To be honest, it’s my preference for these kinds of shooting conditions, where it’s bight, but contrasty light. It’s a very, high quality image indeed. Perhaps try the image at 60fps and see how it differs?
@@globaltravelmate no way! We gonna have to meet ;) haha I’ll be back in the 19 for the lantern festival. You’re a funny one! Do you know wat contact by any chance? 😅 I’ve got 1mbps internet but I think I need to get a faster one 🙏🏼 cheers
I love all your videos, but this one especially. Just one comment that for the majority of the video your voice was very muffled and at times hard to hear. It was crystal clear when the camera was pointed towards yourself, so I'm wondering if you might consider using a wireless mic when you are filming with the GoPro. Not a complaint, just a suggestion😀. As always thank you so much for your wonderful videos.
In the nineteenth and early twentieth century Bangkok was laced with khlong like this one. Hence European visitors to the city called Bangkok "the Venice of Asia". Sadly urbaniztion and population demands resulted in many Klong being filled up and forgotten.
You said you just watch other TH-camrs to get some ideas. I don’t know if you appreciate them at least with a comment, what I hope. Otherwise it would be selfish by tryibg to get ideas from others and don’t honoring them.

Bang Mot/Thung Khru. we lived here with my wife's family. the whole area is still original ❤ thank you for the video. hadn't been there 7 years
Wow it looks like Bangkok in old days! Still very traditional.
Omg now I have to get a foldable bike to explore more 🤪😅 thanks so much for all your inspirational videos!!!

It's very interesting place and add to my lists.
I watch your video to inspire myself tooooooo. ✌
An other great videos, so nice to see this part of Bangkok! very different and very appreciated..
Have a nice trip.Inspiration start travel here. Many thanks.
Now these are the khlongs I want to explore! And I’m seeing places for a small runabout boat or at least a kayak for sure!
Nice khlong for a bike ride, very colorful.
That was really special. Enjoyed the authentic views! Not on GSV obviously, so you just have to watch the video :o)
hi Jeroen on my list and Wat Phutthabucha near by
👍😀🙏
It feels like at any moment you could slip off the edge of that path!! :-O
Never felt like that to me in reality. When the motorcycles passed you can see the path is quite broad.

Nice video. How deep is the Klong? Is it fresh water? What kind of fish inhabit the khlong?
This is a beautiful ride, but looks like a very narrow path….
I am in Thai and I kinda part of Bang Mot and Wat Putthabucha is near my house

You have master GoPro now, 555

I will not use the gopro anymore. I was very disapointed about the overall quality of this video.
I wanna go..........
Ey champ! How’s it going? I was just wondering what internet speed you use for your live walks? Groetjes 🤩
Just a normal package from True. But the connection depends a lot where you are. By the way, I will be in Chiang Mai 18 till 22nd. Are you there?

" We're not in Kansas anymore" ... When were you ever in Kansa ? ;)
Haha, never been to Oz either ;-)
A wireless mic connected to your GoPro may solve the sound quality issue for you.
wow !!!
Wow for bike by klong
Are you riding a folding bike, is that your new ride .?
For this one I used my foldable bicycle, yes. The video is from November 2021. The bike is not new anymore :-) I rarely use it.
At 6:08, there was an opportunity to try and pull a risky stunt by jumping mid air with your bicycle over to the part on the left side 🤣
Haha, maybe next time. One handed like on a rodeo bull.

Any chance of showing where it is on Google Maps?

In the same sentence I mentioned the Silent Seeker channel that gave me the information for this video. I guess that answers your question.
@@globaltravelmate Yes, I overheard that … you see, people hear what they like to hear ^__-__^
It is bizarre that they allow motorbikes and vehicles down the narrowest market walkways or canal walkways.👎🏻
People live there and its their only way to get to their homes. The path is not made for me and my bicycle.
