Today we FINALLY add 300 nano fish to the Ancient Gardens planted aquarium! Chili Rasboras are one of my favorite fish and I think they go great in this tank. Hopefully we can get a "few" more sometime soon :)

You absolutley NEED shrimp in a tank with this much green
can you explain me why? :3
@@Danny21hd to help keep the tank clean. Can't keep using a toothbrush... I mean you can but...
True
really messy indeed, rookie mistake
Jimothy j how many shrimps would a tank like this need
Oh wow, I'm seeing the comments and some are getting really salty because of the acclimating matter for the fish. Just for you to know guys, I saw previous videos of him before he did this one, and he knows that he got to acclimate the fish before putting them into the tank, it's really possible that he just didn't show the acclimating process unlike his other videos, and maybe that's because the video itself it's already long, youtube terms I guess. I saw the fish going in the tank and didn't see any in shock when they got it, so mostly they're fine because they were already acclimated. This guy is really nice and I don't think he'll do that kind of damage to the fish he got, or any other living thing in general. Peace.
Thank you! No offense to Foo the Flowerhorn or his fan base but a lot of people criticizing him are just coming here from there it’s a completely different style of video so there’ll be different things. Also- apparently using a toothbrush is a “no no” of fish keeping and he’s doing everything for the money. Kinda laughable accusations
The fact that this comment isn't at the top is sad. People don't scroll down far enough to get the full story.
That tank and tank scape is the coolest one I've seen imo. Well done. And thanks for shouting out all your followers and sponsors. Way to stay humble and appreciative. Came across very genuine
Cleaner shrimps and snails to deal with the goo.
idk I just like watching shrimp.
you're right, shrimp would be so necessary, but the top tier amano would be too large, and chery shrimp just aren't that effective, but could still be another nice addition of red. maybe some black sakura
I've got a 20 gallon tank with endlers and shrimp... I'm thinking about gettign rid of the endlers and catoring 100% to the shrimp lol. I want to have like 100 of them in a tank all alone :D
Jesse C what? I’m thinking of getting a 20 gallon with endlers and shrimp.
@@maniacram It's a good setup, but I would say not to mix males and females. I made the mistake of wanting a sustainable Endler population, but now I have way too many and where I live I'm having a hard time getting people or pet stores to take them lol. They breed crazy fast, honestly an Endler will give birth to 10-20 babies live and 8 to 18 of them will make it to adulthood no problem. Own one female for 6 months and you'll have 100 endlers!
The shrimp though, heck yeah. They're amazing, I'd recommmend a powdered shrimp food though like GlasGarten BacterAE. If you have some decent plants in there and change the water every few weeks the plants will filter out all the waste and the water change will keep the hardness good for breeding. They can handle 200 or more tds but they like to breed a lot lower, really as low as you can. They say not to go under 60, but really it's hard to go lower unless you're using distilled or RO water.
DON'T get mystery snails, really any snails unless they're nerites which are teeny, slow, and one or two for the whole tank would do a good job keeping the glass clean, the shrimp do the rest. They can get outcompeted super fast by any snail other than nerites.
One last thing, if at all possible setting up the tank and having the endlers and stuff in it for a month before getting the shrimp will help the survival rate massively. They're not super difficult to own or anything, but having them shipped to you is pretty tough on them, having a nice set up tank ahead of time actually does make a difference.
Sorry if this was long, but I just thought I'd give you the tips that made a difference for me. This stuff is all around the web, but these are just kind of verified things that worked well for me.
Jesse C Wow. Thanks for all the tips. Pretty much some of the boxes I wanted to check going in like getting the shrimp once the tank is running with plants. But this just confirms it. Yikes! Didn’t know endlers bees that much. I had a similar nightmare with my jewel cichlids producing like 60+ babies every two months. Madness I tell you. But endlers would be cake selling around here if at all I end up breeding them. Thanks for tips on the shrimp food and others too. Thanks a lot.
No the toothbrush CANT get everything. That’s why ya need to floss.
Bors de Ganys BRUH!!! ...😂😂😂
ive been flossinggg ive been flossing ~~~
It's so relaxing when you have an aquarium in a house.
i thought this was gonna be peaceful, it was intense.
Shrimp shrimp shrimp. They will clean the algae well for you
They’ll eat the fish too tho

This tank is super cool! I love the trees, and so many fish filling the tank makes it look absoloutley epic. Great job!
My god, this planted tank is absolutely gorgeous!
Aren't you supposed to slowly introduce them to the water so they don't die? Was it ok to just instantly put them in the water?
ı was thınkıng the same thıng. .
He did mention something about acclamation, but it might have been something about the amount of fish he had to put into the tank
He might have cut that part out
yeah, he didn't acclimate the fish, it made me cringe
He must have forgot then which is ok it’s just life we are only human
Boy. That’s not AT ALL how Foo the Flowerhorn would’ve introduced fish to a new tank . . . Just saying.
mena94x3 I just came from one of his feeding shrimp video, all his videos are so calming and peaceful, I love it.
Same I’m in love with those videos, TH-cam only recommended me this video because I’ve been watching his
Your right! The transfer seemed so fast
@@kelss2023 I might be not that well into the subject.. But are you not supposed to let the fish in the bags acclimatize into the water of the aquarium, then later open the bag and let / force them out.
as a fish store employee, thats how we transfer all our fish into tanks. we float/drip acclimate first but the quickest and least stressful method is to drop them all in a net and let them go
Years ago i had an 80gal aquarium. It had about 30 zebra danios, 50 neon tetras (3 different colours if I remember correctly), 5-6 different types of cichlid, 3 different sharks, 2 blue cray fish and 4-5 crab. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Normally the cichlids aren’t compatible but all the smaller fish (2 different species) would stay all schooled together Moving around the tank in a group and The cichlids would generally leave them alone. The best part about the crayfish and the crab is that they clean the bottom of the tank even any fish that die.
This man: makes beautiful aquascape
Me: *kills my own artificial plants*
The orange back light is gorgeous. Looks like a forever sunset. Beautiful.
I'm wondering what type of light that is
Beautiful tank. I like the orange light that doesn’t reach the top. It looks like sunrise.
Could be sunset ??? 😁
I thought the same thing. That's probably why he likes it but doesn't know why...
Never in my freaking life I could capable of doing something so impressed like this.
Who ever designed that tank has superb taste . Its beautiful .
I came here from foo the flowerhorn, and I feel overstimulated by this.
Saaaame from foo the flowerhorn haha

Hey homie
Panda Boi Gaming and Pets hey man
Awww you’re a cute liddo lizard of course you’re gonna be excited about a lovely tank😊
Glitter Dragon Yeet! Thks
Love the effect of the back light. It looks like you are looking at a landscape during sunrise.
I really hope you floated the fish before just dumping them in there, I manage a Pet Store and used to be an Aquatic Technician, fish are kinda my thing
It’s required that the employees at the pet store I manage tell customers to ALWAYS acclimate your fish for at least an hour before release.
I recommend you go get some Ghost Shrimp and maybe some Chocolate Shrimp to help with tank maintenance, that toothbrush hurt my soul
Well acclimation is not always necessary if they’re coming from one of your nearby tanks. Funny enough, fish are *also* Mike’s thing. And sometimes if you want to clean the algae right then and there a toothbrush is better than a shrimp.
Is there something I don't know that explains the elitism towards toothbrushes
I think he knows what hes doin
Calls himself "Aquapro"
Shakes the bags and throws the fish into the tank without giving them any time to adjust
TY2020 calls himself “Aquapro”
Kills a few fish through his pump
That's why I hit dislike button for this video
@@artoputtipong1796 You can't call yourself a pro just because you spent a lot of money on something, it just doesn't work like that
my opinion, 7 out of 10 people they called themselves as "Pro" just a self-proclaimed who lack of BASIC Knowledge or just Overconfident.
he could've just cut out the acclimation process
I have been a aquarium hobbyist for 40 plus years and that scape is by far the best looking I have ever seen!Great job!
The orange color in the background is perfect. It makes it look like a village sunset in Thailand.
Very Nice! I am just getting back into this. I really like your ideas.
another thing I didn't think to mention to you, pseudomugil (blue eye rainbows) would also do a nice job in the top- not sure if they would be as suitable for the open top. or oooo- rosy loaches!! Petruichthys sp. rosy or Micronemacheilus cruciatus (dwarf zebra hovering loach)!!!
🔥🔥👽💯
Holy crap. Im a subscriber i didnt expect to see you here. Thx for you kerri tetra and zebra oto vid. They really helped me alot
I love my butterfly rainbows aka spotted pseudomugils!
you're supposed to add the fish in a bag with thier water for a few hours while the water temp gets to the same level so that the fish dont freak out and die straight away.
He might want to check his nitrates, nitrites and all the other variables before he kills several hundred dollars of fish!!
He did actually mention that he found a few dead fish and even plans to add 300 more like doesn't seem to care
A few hours???? That amount of time is super redundant and will just cause stress. You let them temperature acclimate for 30 minutes to an hour, not for several hours.
That’s something even the Walmart employees know... I was wondering why this guy seems so dumb.
He did it off camera I never knew losing brain cells could be a pastime
OMG, Love the planting setup & the orange lighting is killer!
Can I just tell your tank looks amazingly beautiful. Love the sunset
Waaaayyy overstocked, Dont believe me? Wait about 4 weeks and see if this tanks still shown in videos
Alex Cottam I do agree its a bit overstocked, although the fish are small, its still kinda crowded 😔
Right 5 months later and still hasn’t shown this tank
@@eviesalazar3645 They're probably (very) dead
It’s not way overstocked he has a giant tank and these are micro fish to be pushing it would be adding 300 more fish .
@@animaladventures5751 it's, what, 160? 170? I'd say 200 is the minimum for that many chili rasboras.
I feel like I landed on the jojo siwa of aquariums

Good.. I think??
Anna Koning hopefully good. A lot of fish keeper you tubers are like his, almost none like Foos. People usually want info not relaxation out of a fish video, or a vlog style vieoe

Amazing work! I'd really like to get into this, i know a lot about raising fish, and basic aquatic plants, but have never set up an aquascape
Half the people here are from flowerhorn who are way over stimulated by this.
Honestly I like that Foo and Mike have some kind of connection in terms of videos but the onslaught of fans coming from him are so so so judgemental on Mike for not acclimating his fish and killing a few accidentally and saying how Foo is miles better than him when Mike has a lot more tanks under his wing....makes me want to stop watching Foo (although I’ll never do that). Put 300 Cardinal Tetras in and some nice colourful shrimp maybe?
When I saw the tank on the cover of this Veil and this filled my mind was blown up like to say what is that what is that tank how did you make that.......
I’d pick some slow movers like gouramies into this layout~
Had a look at this waterbox site .......ridiculously overpriced! ..
Cardinal or neon tetras probably Cardnals you can see more intense color and shrimps. That’s a suggestion 😊
The aquascape is like heaven for the little fish
This tank is a masterpiece.
That aquarium looks freaking AMAZING !!!! I love all that foliage, it just looks super natural and realistic
All 300 fish being dropped into the tank reminds me of "The 100". Jist randomly getting drop shipped on a random planet
You should probably put some shrimps and Some snails In the tank so you don't always Have to clean The tank with a Toothbrush They will slowly but Shirley get the tank cleaned up loved the video btw!❤
😮😮😮
I saw a lot of beautiful tanks...but this one!? Art masterpiece! It's perfect.
Its like Tolkien, fantasy world.
And this orange light behind the tress... love it... its like sunset 😍
You're Artist.
Btw. Happy New year 😊
If they're OK with the rasboras I'd say a colorful king betta (but I'm biased because Bettas are my favorite fish almost every tank I put together has a betta centerpiece). I think if you're going for that ancient garden effect a single gorgeous Male betta would be like an ancient forest guardian or dragon.
Or you could have a sorority of females for a really cool look with some nice variety of color palettes
Mike that’s exactly how I run my tanks
Mike That’s a cool idea, I’d go with the 1 male
While it's a nice idea, Bettas are prone to jumping so it's not ideal for a lidless tank like this one
I think a betta would be lovely in there with them
What about banjo catfish as a dragon then a betta
"if you want to get all the algae with a toothbrush it will take 3 hours" haha. Nice and specific mike. Solid video. Tank looks sweet and that is one awesome school of fish!
My dude lol
I always liked the neon tetras, colorful but unassuming little guys, great schooling fish.
That tank is absolutely beautiful I bet the fish will love that landscape I know I do, fairy tail forest nice 👍🏼
Bruh, you need a small RC submarine with a small camera
Phineas and Ferb can build that
Lol small one inch camera in waterproof plastic. Maybe a small fan and weight like scuba belt. Small receiver on the inside of plastic to camera battery.
Adding this many fish at once can cause an ammonia spike. Glad that didn't happen...
What is that
@@Sfaegbe fish release ammonia as a waste product, this can cause water toxicity for the fish (they can die) or fuel algae blooms
This is the most beautiful aquarium that i've ever seen.
I like your concept of scale keeping the fish small in contrast with the layout of the tank (I usually think more along the lines of general composition of the layout, but scale is a part of that). Cool aquarium.
That tank turned out beautiful man! I remember when you first set it up and I wasnt to sure if I liked it to much. But now that it has had a chance to grow in it looks amazing! Great work!
Some small, semi-aggressive fish like dwarf gouramis may also help provoke schooling behavior
a few scarlet badis would look cool
I think adding a Betta would be a good idea 😂
@Sequoiah Dreams I was being sarcastic. But I think alot of people didn't get that with my smiley
That is an absolutely gorgeous tank!
OMG, what a BEAUTIFUL tank!!
It’s a beautiful aquascape. The sunset background lighting really sets it off nicely.
Some Amano shrimp will help you out with the hair algae! Definitely get like 20 of those for that tank
i agree with him about the light to a point but it also makes for a really nice sunset effect, might do that with one of my tanks
Bruh please keep making videos like this , and make it more satisfying please , it helps me get through with my insomnia a lot , thankyouu bruh! Have a good one!
I think a good beautiful centerpiece fish to add that won’t bother the little ones would be a dwarf gourami. They’re very active, stay quite small at around 2 and a half inches, and is a unique looking fish with stunning coloration.
Yes unfortunately Mine died earlier this week and I haven’t found out why but he was an amazing fish with so much personality 😢RIP Cheeto

Impressive! Nice choice of fish. Love this tank. Great job, Sir!
That aquarium really looks cool! Just wow
That is a an absolute beauty of a tank. I wonder how the fish did after they were put in though. Is there an update video? Seriously, gorgeous scape.
This is such a beautiful tank! Hair/string algae isn't even unsightly in this set up.
I can’t even with this tank. When I saw it with the orange backlight creating a sunset through forest illusion... just... wow. So. Well. Done. *claps in applause*
This is exactly the tank I want! *STUNNING* !
Bro the back light is amazing! It almost looks like a sunset or the reflection of a sunset on water if that makes sense haha
Awesome tank. I retire in 3 years and hope I can start having tanks like this.
Looking gorgeous, the trees are beautiful. I think neon tetras would be fantastic in this tank.
Bro that orange cover is amazing! It looks like a setting sun, pretty etheral for a fishtank
The sunset lighting is awesome
These fishes are living the live so much better than mine rn
I have several Emerald Eye Rasboras. They are the tightest schooling fish I have ever kept. They are very interesting to watch. They have actually replaced Neon Tetras as my favorite fish to keep. I would love to see a large school of them in your aquarium
