Ongard and Mali Baby Elephonts Melbourne Zoo 29Jan11 - I see this zoo every weekend when i go running past it, time to visit with a friend from Adelaide.
@maryea46 Hey thanks for the comment, you're probably right, I was only there for a few hours and these little kids are out in the sun all day. Hopefully they get some shade today.
@maryea46 oh yes there is and there are some larger areas for them to go into, we walked along a path and it has large gates that close so the elephants can move into another area with grass and foliage etc. It's a lovely place and I do plan on going back.
@HenryDavidT I would agree but they have other areas that are more grass to walk on and trees, it' just wasn't visible on this video. If I go again I'll include their other areas. This area is for them to be on display to the public.
Thanks, they were so adorable, can't always see it on film, so to speak, but they do say they go for naps in the afternoon. Glad I didn't go today as it's going to hit 40C later, currently 33C (mid-day)
cool
Love visiting Melbourne when I’m over in Oz. The staff are so friendly & informative & you can see they love looking after the animals.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a great comment about Melbourne, where were you visiting from?

Persistence pays off, little one.
Beautiful.
Wondering if they have a pool and more food.
Thanks for the comment. I seem to remember a pool but this is many years ago now.
In that 1 video it was Ongardthat was tossed away.

Yes, the male elephant babies are very aggressive and like to charge vehicles!
@katey3 yes they have some very large pens, i saw at least two more.
the problem of elephants children, is that they are very fat
Shouldn't it depend on the BMI
