Mosaic Art Inspired by Nature and Created in the Studio of Rachel Davies Mosaics

- The mosaic was created as part of an art challenge to create a series of small mosaics inspired by images from nature. This piece was inspired by a rotting tree stump. It is made with stone, slate and pieces of filati (glass stringers). All the pieces are cut by hand and set into a bed of tile adhesive/thinset to create the textured surface.
The mosaic measures 2.5x3.5 inches.
