    Do you perhaps have a video on how to apply the glue in tricky areas (under kitchen counter edges, etc).

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's tricky to not make a mess. We usually just tape areas off. Clean it up with water before it gets too dry. Try a paint brush to spread it. Maybe I will make a vid in the future. Thanks for watching!

    I’ve never done an LVP, seems like it could be easier than a snap together laminate though.

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a lot of work getting the plywood down but it's much easier to lay. Great on concrete, less prep just some patching if it's not in bad shape

      These non click planks are more durable too,as opposed to click floors.When water or pet spills get between click floors,they’ll start to swell at seam points.This non click won’t swell,unless its totally submerged,do to hot water tanking blowing.
      I love these non clicks in commercial grade.
      Cheers!!

    How long did it take to the glue to be ready to put the floor

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the temp, humidity, thickness you put it down but usually half hour to an hour

    What brand/style, thickness flooring did you use?

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I honestly don't really remember what the brand was. It may be in the comments in this video or the other one you commented on. It's like 1/8" thick. There are tons of options out there, just don't go too cheap

    • @ocho27hd
      @ocho27hd 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BrentDarlington I’m definitely not trying to be cheap but is it completely necessary to glue down over the 1/4” underlay or can it go over osb considering it’s been prepped, sealed and primed? Flooring companies tell not to use glue down period 🤷🏽. Lastly, would Loose Lay Vinyl be a good option considering it is 5mm 20ml? Thanks again

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ocho27hd The manufacturer will specify what prep is needed for the install. I like loose lay but I usually glue it all down anyway. It may be fine over OSB without sanded plywood but you'd have to check the instructions first.

    If I have a way to get in & out of the room with glue on the concrete, is it ok to start at one wall or the other?

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes but you will still want a chalk line for the first row. Walls are never straight!

  • @slee7079
    @slee7079 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. Are those underlayment on the concrete floor? If so, how did you secure the underlayment? Why did you apply glues directly on the floor without the underlayment?

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The underlayment is over OSB. You can go directly onto concrete, you may just have to do some patching first. I have this video that shows more detail: th-cam.com/video/KKKpOpWfbCk/w-d-xo.html

  • @joeypiccola
    @joeypiccola 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What underpayment are you using? Looked like in your other bedroom video the sheets were pre-marked for where to nail, which leads me to believe it’s specific to flooring. Thanks!

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1/4 birch premium underlayment. Yes, made for flooring. May have to go to a flooring store to get it. Sometimes I see it at big box stores but it is only 4' x 4'

    How to to make sure that first centre line is straight?

    • @BrentDarlington

      That's why you use a chalk line. If done right the chalk line is straight.

  • @victorvek5227
    @victorvek5227 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you just cross your fingers that the walls were straight? I was halfway through two rooms doing this before realizing I’d be at a 20 degree angle by the time I reached the 4th room. Shit is a nightmare

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's why you try to centre it or just work off a wall or area that you think will be the most noticeable. I usually try to be straight with the kitchen or down a main hall way. Can't win if the walls are way out though
