No they didn't they were betrayed by the leaders Be they Rabbis, Bankers, industrialists rich coreligionists. But their " Elite " wer guilty in participating with Hitler and Mussolini in the establishment of a \fascist society who exploited the poor, sent their soldiers in Abyssinia to kill a defenseless people . Men,. women, old young, babies, babes in arms. The price to pay for this was the holocaust.. The chicken came home to roost so to speak

Jewish leadership in Poland was aware of the Nazi threat from Germany well before the war started. Yet few emigrated to countries that were then open. Same thing in Germany prior to Kristallnacht. Hard to accept that people did not take Hitler seriously until it was too late.

@m i don't speak italian, i was using google translator. When and where exactly in Poland were Jews persecuted? as far as I know, for centuries Poland was the ONLY country in the world that Jews found peace and tolerance towards them. And as for your "race" argument, any Jew who converted to christianity was treated as equal to any Pole. They were rewarded for their service to crown etc. Nothing to do with the "race". It's more about assimilation and respect for the country they live in.

oh my, whats up with the kangurski guy!? Nice to see original footage from this part of Krakow! Am I right if i say that these films were recorded by antisemits of some sort. almost every person in the pictures seem upset or uncomfortable with beeing filmed..

Only the ones in religious garb really seem upset. There was a lot of political tension in this Era and they probably thought they were spies. It's too bad though people cant distinguish Blood Zionist's from People who are just Jewish by heritage. There's a difference a BIG difference and unfortunately random Jews got persecuted for stuff they did. Oh well.

@@mylenechardonnier8443 in occupied Europe, there were nations that openly collaborated with Germany, such as the French, Dutch, Belgians, Italians, Czechs, Slovaks, and a few that did not, such as Poles and Serbs. Among them, as in any other society, there were only mean people who did harm to others. How were the French treated by the Germans and how by the Poles?

In 2018 the Polish Parliament published the following statement:
"Appreciating the great contribution of Isaac Bashevis Singer to Polish and world culture, his sensitivity and originality of thoughts, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopts today a resolution to commemorate the outstanding artist, expressing the highest appreciation for his work and honoring his memory". Regarding other dates and events, I recommend reading historical books written by historians who have dedicated their lives to the research on Polish-Jewish history. By the way, I wonder is there any street in Israel named with any Polish Nobel Prize winner in literature?
