“What Child Is This?” Performed by 11-year-old Reese Oliveira, soprano for One Voice Children’s Choir in Utah/USA. In this music video, Reese is accompanied on the piano by Masa Fukuda, music arranger and producer. Brynnley Seipert, a ballerina of nine years, joins the music video production as she artistically dances along in representation of an angel dancing in celebration of Christ’s birth.
The video was filmed at Northampton House in American Fork, Utah. Northampton house was originally built in 1903 as a LDS church for the American Fork third ward. The beautiful gothic style showcases a stained glass window, decorative moldings, and unique stenciling. The historic building is now used as a wedding reception and event center. The architecture of this historic location in the main ballroom (and beautiful stained-glass windows!) created the perfect backdrop for Reese to sing, “What Child Is This?”
This music video, “What Child Is This?” is the latest mother/daughter combination of inspirational Christian music videos produced by Reese and and her mom, Suzy. As of the publication of this video (November 28, 2016), other videos created by Reese and Suzy have surpassed 2.2 million views across Facebook and TH-cam. Previous notable productions include “Gethsemane” (April 2015) and “I Feel My Savior’s Love” (March 2016) which feature Reese as the main soloist, in addition to original artwork created by her mom. All of Reese’s music videos have been musically produced by Masa Fukuda, director of One Voice Children’s Choir.
Reese loves to perform and has portrayed Young Cosette in Les Miserables at Hale Center Theater Orem, Child #1 in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at Hale Center Theater Orem, and Annie in “Annie Jr.” for Barlow Arts Conservatory. She is the oldest of five children and in sixth grade.
Masa Fukuda is the director of One Voice Children’s Choir. He is an international award-winning composer, arranger, and producer. Born and raised in Japan, his early education with Yamaha’s top music program “Junior Original Concert” (JOC) gave him college-level training in music theory, dictation, keyboard harmony, improvisation, and orchestration. He attended Brigham Young University with a scholarship and graduated in 2002 with BA in Media Music Composition with Golden Key International Honor Society Certification. His music was used during the 2002 Winter Olympics Games and was featured on the gold-faced commemorative CD for the Olympics “Light Up the Land.” In 2003, he was awarded with the rare John Lennon “Dream Power” Music Award presented by Yoko Ono and George Martin for his original music “Innocence of Youth” (lyrics by Jeannine Lasky). As an arranger and producer, Masa has worked for David Archuleta of the American Idol (Season 7), Justin Williams (Season 8), Jarrett Burns of the group ANSER (X-Factor, 2011), and Alejandro Melecio (Latino Idol, 2012.) His most recent achievements are seen on TH-cam for Alex Boye: the viral video “Let It Go” (a FROZEN cover) with over 90 million views, “Happy,” (Pharrell Williams cover) and “Wayfaring Stranger,” featuring a Grammy nominee Jenny Oaks Baker. Despite all his success as an arranger and producer, Masa thrives on cultivating talents. He gives countless hours of his time teaching and helping choir children achieve their goals and dreams.
Brynnley Seipert loves expressing her creativity through dance. As a dancer of over nine years. Brynnley shines as a talented ballerina. Brynnley and Reese had the opportunity to perform together at Hale Center Theater Orem in their production of “Joseph the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” in the spring of 2016.
