      You have to know/remember that bishops are lay people. They are not paid, nor trained in any type of social work or family counseling yet they are expected to make decisions that heavily affect lives. They have full time jobs, often businesses and large families. They are given directives and resources on how to handle these issues by the church.
      The Mormon church has very restrictive rules around sexuality. Masturbating is forbidden and obviously porn. But they also consider women showing knees and shoulders is walking porn.

      Because in the way, the people were speaking about her she sounds like she had destroyed a lot of lives you know, and I have seen two counsellors myself and they were both awesome. They were both so so so so, amazing such kind hearted, and caring people you know I never had a problem with any of my counsellors. And I can tell just when I first met them that they would never abuse their power like that they would never use you know like they would never use your counselling session to insult or make people feel bad about what they need help for.
      So like if somebody was showing kind of some kind of violence, violent behavior, and was getting into fights with people. Like, even if they could use all you have control of their emotions I never had a counsellor who said it was their fault that there a danger to society and that they shouldn’t be out in public on their own, because he might beat somebody up, and everybody might be in danger because of them. No, they point-blank told them that you know they never made it feel like it was their fault.
      I mean the way they were going about it is that instead of telling them that it’s their fault that they don’t have any friends or you know it’s your fault for going to jail. They just said that you know like they had the choice they have choices in what they do and they gave them other ways of going about it, but they didn’t put them down or make them feel bad for anything that they did.
      They just said that well with you always have a choice. You know and they said they just ask the person like what would they have done differently you know do usually you get them to answer that to try and see if they can get them to rethink what they did in order to help them.

    • @leighhoppins9273
      @leighhoppins9273 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My counsellors are always helping people with coping skills and how to manage their emotions properly so that they don’t get in trouble you know they are so so so so so wonderful people that they try to help people they don’t insult them or put them down and make it seem like it’s their fault never ever ever. And so when I hear people that do things like this, you know that say they’re a counsellor and insult and hurt people further who deeply are more vulnerable and that are more acceptable to be hurt more because you know of course when you see a counsellor you’re not in your right mind, so anything that they say people would just believe what they said you know
      And I am very very very disgusted at how a counsellor could do such a horrible thing to people like that, and make it. The husbands are at fault and that they’re the ones who were ruining their marriage. You know because it’s not men the men who go to her I don’t think would ever ever ever say to their wives that it was necessarily their fault for their marriage, being destroyed, you know.
      Meanwhile, it may be true. The wife/girlfriend could be definitely up fault and Jody is saying to the man that he is at fault when she is the one who is doing the abuse using these tactics to hurt a person to marriage even further make I don’t know what her reasoning is for men to hurt a man, but she is a woman and she is hurting other men you know
      And she doesn’t have the fucking right to have her license ever again. And I think honestly I think somebody should beat her up in jail. You know for doing that because and I hope for five people beat up on her because that’s what she deserves you know she deserves to know what it’s like to be violated and hurt, and insulted as well.

I think that is his way of interpreting things to continue to absolve the church of any responsibility where she is concerned. He is critical of himself for not doing his due diligence, so why not hold the church responsible for a lack of due diligence? The church is recommending her, so why arent they checking her credentials? Because the only thing they care about is that she is a member of the Mormon church. They don't even care if her teachings vary from there's because that gives them plausible deniability when she does something awful.

    It’s offensive that someone portraying themselves as a “counselor” and “marriage counselor” would clearly *not respect the sanctity of marriage* itself and would seemingly go in there w the _intention of driving the couple apart, turning them against one another, alienating the husband from his wife and kids, running the marriage into the ground and destroying it!_That’s the __*_exact opposite of what a counselor/marriage counselor is supposed to do!!_*
    I don’t know Bryce’s story, this is the first I’ve heard him sharing his experience and I’ll be going over to watch his videos after this. But, I was caught off guard and shocked when he said the first couple months of his marriage weren’t going so great and that’s why they ended up in therapy to begin w. I feel bad for Bryce and his ex-wife that they had so much difficultly, even from the beginning of their marriage, and that is unfortunately ended in divorce.
    Wishing you nothing but the best, Bryce, and hope that _one day you’ll find love and happy a happy marriage, so you get your happily ever after!!_

    No im just mad at the child abuse cover ups and the lawyered up church response. Very very sad that money and silence was their response to such crimes. Then we have silence..

    Odd howcKevin Frank has a Doctorate in Engineering and couldn't see throught Jodi Hildebrand, yet less educated people have. I guess its common sense. That the police asked a judge for a warrant over concerns of child abuse in the past at the Franke home, and the judge refused to sign the warrant makes me think that judge needs to apologize to these kids.

      Nothing wrong with being honest. He is making lemonade out of the lemon-head Jodi Hildebrandt who caused him grief and abuse, when she should have been helping him repair his relationship to his wife.... It's the least he deserves in compensation from my POV. He's also do a service to others by calling her out for what she is. It's a win-win no matter what. I think he's being very charitable to Hildebrandt under the circumstances by stating he doesn't blame her for his divorce. I'm not certain I'd be so kind or conciliatory. I reckon Hildebrandt was a catalyst in the failure of the marriage.

    Sir: No offense, but, as the mom of 3 adult sons, I would not count a new)ly-married couple living with the man's MOTHER as a great way to start a marriage.
    Mothers + sons are pretty close. A married woman deserves her OWN home, away from his mom.

    These bishops need to be held accountable! And sorry, but if a counselor would ask me if I ever watched porn, I would hang up the phone! 😂

      The whole leadership needs to be held accountable. It definitely starts at the top. And Joseph Smith and Brigham Young got all those directives going and following prophets expanded on the cult control.

      @@MNP208no, each ward has there own bishop. A ward is basically a neighborhood worth of memebers that live in the same area.

    For all trying to blame a bishop, A bishop is a man called to serve and lead a ward unit (like a parish). They are not paid clergy. They have their own families and outside employment. They are not trained counselors. They wouldn’t likely go and watch any of her videos. They are given a list of possible licensed counselors and members can choose from the list. Yes, someone, somewhere apparently didn’t do enough due diligence to vet the list (presuming she’s still on the list… I read she hadn’t been on the list for sometime) but trying to blame a bishop, who was trying to help, isn’t the answer. Jodi is a master manipulator.
    Also, the church only pays for counseling for those who cannot afford to pay for the counseling themselves. So, someone like Ruby and Kevin had money to pay for counseling, they would (or should) have paid their own way. Counseling is not forced. It’s by the families’ own desire.

      @JM-pg5rc ปีที่แล้ว

      And this is the reasons bishops shouldn’t council anyone. And shouldn’t be giving intimate interviews with children about their sexual practices. Of course, you will also get some bad bishops, too, who manipulate and abuse.
