Very well shot, produced, and edited. Fascinating story regarding this WWII operation, and thank you for documenting the recovery efforts for the pilot. Such important work to preserve the memories of those who gave all.
Thanks for doing that for him. My grandfather was a b17 flight instructor and may have taught him how to fly that bird! I remember all kinds of fun stories of him flying the 17s and 29s
Keep up the good work. So many young men and women disappeared from the face of the Earth in😊 our far too many conflicts that identifying even one is a small miracle.
Hi it's Nik Coleman. Thats not correct. Joe Kennedy Jnr died 30 miles away and 10 days later, unconnected with this event, save for the fact the Anvil project shared its aims and operations (it was USN) with the Aphrodite team. This is the B17 crash site. At 6'33" we clearly say the pilot was John Fisher, and continue to talk about him for the rest of the film.
@@billness2635 Yup his (Joe Jnr) aircraft detonated as or just after he armed it, blew to pieces in mid-air. He of course, also hasn't returned to the USA and there has been some talk of an effort to find remains, however I believe that aircraft was spread over several square miles.
Thanks for your great work in getting the soldiers home. All the best from Denmark 🇩🇰

We agree! And thank you for your kind words.
Thanks so much. Nik Coleman

We thank your grandfather for his service, and thank you for your support!
I worked as a volunteer on this project. It was a very cool experience

Fantastic story and thank you to all involved. We must not forget what they went through to give us our freedom today. Keep up the great content.
You guys are doing a great job God Bless all of of group
It's so interesting.
Oh and the b17 had 9 cylinders like what your find suggests
I must have had a day off when you guys arrived, I was there when the guy next to me cleaned that dynamo
Lt. Joseph Kennedy is the subject of this search. The brother of JFK. Not sure why they decided not to mention who they are looking for.

@@historysgreatestaircraft Wow! Thanks for the correction! Very similar circumstances and location!

Joe Kennedy junior was flying a BQ-8 robot aircraft, a converted B24 Liberator at the time of his death, the plane exploded with him still aboard.
