Jeremy is completely right, magenta is a complementary color, not purple. Its the same thing with Cyan. Blue AND Cyan are complementary colors, They aren't shades of the same color...

Ryvaken in science the only one that is not light (which is what allows us to see color) is black which is actually devoid of light while white is the combination of light. the CYMK thing your talking about a subtractive color model that is used in color printing and I don't 100% understand mainly because physics trumps it since it is just a color model that you use in color printing. Light is what allows us to see those colors and in that explanation magenta is a form of purple light.

It's super campy when you play it. It tries to balance between being unsettling and funny.
Jeremy was right at the end about -what he was saying about- magenta though, The CMYK color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black).
magenta is still a shade of purple/pink though, kind of.

To the two comments, incorrect. Primary colors are colors that cannot be made by combining two other colors together to make them. It’s what makes them primary colors.
CMYK is able to produce both red and blue more richly, And vibrantly- and have many more natural occurances over true red and true blue.
They are, by definition, primary colors due to the above reasons. The CMYK model is rad.

How did no on say anything about Maroon being classed as a shade of purple but the picked up on Magenta?

The game was wrong on maroon but correct on magenta, purple is 128, 0, 128 and magenta is 255, 0, 255, Maroon is 128, 0, 0, which makes it a shade of red.
3 numbers with commas following each is on the RGB scale, right? just asking for clarity is all. But also, Purple is a shade of red so anything that has red in it is also a shade of purple
There is a shade of maroon that has purple in it but most don't, while most shades of magenta are purple however the most common shade of magenta I've ever seen is closer to pink and red than purple. But colors are weird and I'm no expert so what do I know.

On a traditional color wheel Red, Yellow, and Blue are the primary colors. The colors that come from mixing those colors are NOT shades. Saying "purple is a shade of whatever" is incorrect. Pure purple is a mixture. To be classified as a shade you need to add black, a tint is adding white. Mixing paint you can create pure magenta and pure maroon from the primary colors. You can create shades or tints of those colors (darker or lighter versions) by adding black or white. You do NOT add black to pure purple to create magenta or maroon. If you create a shade of purple, you are literally creating................... dark purple.

Defining a color as a shade of another color is actually pretty stupid if you're looking at any of the spectrums because you're literally just saying which of the arbitrarily defined points of reference on the color wheel that particular color is closest to.
i'll answer your question with a rhetorical question, if you put pepperoni and cheese on a pizza is it a pepperoni or cheese pizza? no its fucking both pepperoni and cheese one of them doesn't just magically disappear because they were combined together.
Infinity That is not at all the situation here. A closer analogy would be trying to ask what kind of grain or milk a grilled cheese sandwich is. The sandwich does contain milk and grains, but it is very much a separate item and not just a type of either of those two things. And even that is a poor analogy because, as a I said, this specific points of color we chose as the "primaries" is fairly arbitrary. IE the distinction between RGB and CMYK.

You're both right regarding toilets in Japan. They have super fancy toilets with heated seats and bidets equipped, but they also have standard squatty potties. Most public restrooms in cities will have at least 1 squatting toilet available, and further out into the countryside you'll see them a lot more frequently.

I think the issue comes from people thinking of flying as what you see a lot of smaller birds do, with long sustained flight.

I think the problem is either he added extra reds and then removed them and the game counted them wrong or he added extra reds and when they displayed his pattern only displayed the parts of his that were the same as the example but still counted the ones he added as wrong

Note how when they play Drawful or Fibbage we never see anyone actively drawing it? It's like that.

Cones are color. And it's actually rather rare for someone to be COMPLETELY colorblind. If I remember correctly, Red-green color blindness is the most common.

I agree with Jeremy on this one, the one thing I took from Art Class in middle school that I still use as trivia is the 3 primary colors for painting are: cyan, magenta and yellow. Not red, blue and yellow. If that's the case, I would say magenta is it's own color, whereas purple is made using magenta and cyan.

Jeremy is absolutely right. The result of mixing the Primary Colors Red and Blue make the secondary color of Magenta, Purple is a light tint of Magenta, although tints are referred to by the public as shades as well because it's easier to remember since no one besides art nerds care about the difference between tints and shades.

Jeremy, just like you said, CMYK is for pigment...adding colors to white for use in print. It is a bastardized, backwards version of the "real" color spectrum that physics recognizes.
I wouldn't say it is a bastardised version, I would say it's a compromise to work on printing and paper. In fact, the CMYK spectrum is the improved version of the RYB proven by colour science to give a better range of colours and increased access to a greater proportion of the chromatic spectrum.

It's specifically for print, yes. If you don't have to print, though, RGB is the way to go (far more colors, you just can't replicate them with pigments). I only say bastardized because it doesn't follow the rules of how light behaves (how we see). If you digitally paint something in RGB and switch it to CMYK, you can see the most vibrant colors become muted. It's barely noticeable on some pieces, though.

Jeremy is absolutely right. Red green and blue are simply different wavelengths of light that we can see, just like CMYK. So if you follow the CMYK system, which many graphics applications do, magenta is a primary colour.
You are correct but most people (this game included) don't think of the CMYK system when they see the word "color", they think of RYB or RBG systems.
