    Shame, Bolam should have sorted it. He is a misery anyway. But I loved this show, especially the movies RIP Mr Bewes and thank you for your entertaining us.

    Not allowing repeats of the show must have cost him as well as bewes financially

    • @michaelconlon9277
      @michaelconlon9277 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do your research.Whatever Happened was repeated every decade in the 70s and 80s.Plus Martin Shaw had to go to court in the 80s to stop The Professionals being repeated.If Bolam did want repeats stopped why didn't he have to go to court as well?

    Sad that James Bolam never forgave him, but Rodney had a bad reputation among fellow actors including Kenneth Williams and Warren Clarke who nicknamed him "The Beast" because he gossiped about everyone he knew.

    • @garydunn3037
      @garydunn3037 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sent james Bolam an article from a Newspaper from the late 2000's which was called
      "The Unlikliest Feud" James replied by saying "Don't believe all you read in Newspapers"
      But, there must have been some element of truth in what was said, after reading the
      comments above. Rodney claims that he disclosed something about James' personal
      life, which he should have remained silent about. And according to Mr Bewes, James
      stopped taking phone calls from him, even cancelling another series of "Likely Lads"
      because of the betrayal of trust. James went on to do alot more tv work, where the late
      Mr Bewes' work almost dried up, and he spent the end of his years doing the "Talk
      Circuit" Such a shame. Life's to short. How ironic the theme tune is now for the show
      that once made them famous.

    James Bolam, post the Likely lads has had a brilliantly successful acting career on british tv, Bewes didn't. He traded on being in the Likely lads for the rest of his life. Bolam wasn't to blame for Bewes Failure and many actors refuse to have their old shows repeated.(David Jason refused to allow repeats of 70's sitcom Lucky feller to be aired) Bewes whined about their "feud" every time I ever heard him speak from 1976 onwards. How many times have we worked with people we got on reasonably well with when we worked with them but had no desire to be lifelong friends? Bewes came across to me, as an actor, as a whining failure. Bolam just moved on and Bewes couldn't.

    For as much as I really enjoy James Bolan’s acting, time has revealed an unnecessary and unforgiving side to his nature. Almost vindictive. We all make mistakes, wish we hadn’t said this, that or the other, and seek forgiveness for a blunder that wasn’t said in malice.

    Bolam Should Be Ashamed of himself, It Was Just A Joke For Christ Sake, No One Got Killed Or Injured. It was mean to put a family on the breadline, and since Bewes is death his wife had to sell the Family home to pay off the mortgage. Shame on you Bolan, Shame, Shame On You! It Was Just A Joke For Christ Sake, No One Got Killed Or Injured.

    • @billgreen8966
      @billgreen8966 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. It is often the case that the actors we think we know we do not. Bolam and his wife come across as real miseries. You dont have to be great mates to just do the decent thing. Don't you just love actors who are so up themselves they block their earlier material. Pathetic. That's why the Professionals was not shown for a long time, Martin Shaw wouldn't agree.

    • @wangdangdoodie
      @wangdangdoodie 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolute bullshit, (& seriously skewed reporting that even the BBC would be proud of). Bewes lived very comfortably in, of all places, Henley-on-Thames, one of the most expensive places to live in the UK, and his widow has not had to sell up at all. Bewes was a complete shit of a human being who broke a pact with his co-star. If Bewes found it hard to get work after TLL it's because 1. He simply wasn't much cop as an actor, and 2. He wasn't liked in the profession. For an indication of just how big a cunt he really was witness his unwaranted & unnecessary spat with neighbour George Harrison. Good riddance.

    Bewes is making Bolam out to be the bad guy, but i once read an article made by a guy called Fred feast who portrayed Fred gee a barman in coronation street for many years, and he said working with bewes was terrible 😱, he said that he was a horrible individual, so maybe Bolam isn't as bad a guy as we are reading here? 🤔
