Technically the pandemic started in 2019. World leaders decided to keep it on laylow until people started dying.
We will always be dealing with covid now. Has the flu went anywhere? The bubonic plague is still around killing people with no cure or even vaccine. Am I missing something or do people really think they are going to be able to destroy covid before we go back to normalcy in our lives? We just have to deal with it and get past the fear

And actually if you want a scary life lesson. All of our antibiotics are slowly no longer working. Plenty of information about that everywhere if you read about it. Another theory about the origin of the virusses is the residue of m-RNA: When the body generates aminoacids, the m-RNA travels to the t-RNA to get read. However, on its path to that area, it looses some of its material. This theory claims that this residue material which got cut off during the travel may be the origin for a virus as it is a simplistic piece of genetic information with some task encoded which was intended to be read by the t-RNA to generate aminoacids - just like a virus enters a nucleus to be read so that it can reproduce more virus cells.

@@Imtotallydiggingthis Relax. Viruses need hosts to reproduce and they are pretty much all species locked. Almost all viruses find it very hard to jump species with very few exceptions. As such its highly implausible any of these viruses are in any way compatible with modern life.
The bacteria still living in the ice, on the other hand, are a very different story.
Have you noticed the sheer number of viruses that they have found so far locked up in that ice?
I would not be surprised if there were some old monkey virus that would suddenly attach itself to all of our fun bits and make them rot and fall off...
@@rogersheddy6414 First of all even something from primates despite them being so close to us genetically still has difficulty jumping. You would need a mix of poor conditions, low immune systems and a carrier for the virus to still even make this likely. Though yes it would be easier for it to jump than say bird flu.
It might have a mutated strain in the ice that could be compatible with a modern primate that's a very close relative to whatever it was adapted. But even that is probably unlikely and if that did happen it would become a plague for that species and would never make it to us.
And the likelihood that there is a virus from an old human species in there is probably pretty low. But that's the only kind of virus I could see being a threat. The only way any of these other viruses would really be a threat is if someone deliberately aimed to infect people with it.

Actually, you are absolutely correct. But not only by ruining the environment and killing each other but also medicialy-scientifically speaking: By making vaccines we are weakening the human race's natural immunity. This is causing weaker immunities in general and could play at least a small part (probably bigger) in the uprising of new viruses or new versions (mutations) of older already known viruses. As the expression goes "only the strongest survive" and then (normally/usually) the strongest breed and give birth to an even stronger individual (in some aspect at least.) The same goes even if the stronger/weaker specific is only referring only to its immune system or the whole body. By making the weaker survive and give birth to an equally weak or even weaker being. We are creating more weak beings percentage wise in the human race as a whole (primarily natural health defenses in this case.) The same goes with all living beings including animals/humans, but especially domesticated animals because we usually vaccinate them as well. Of course this isn't anywhere near a 100% situation always. But the population as a whole, and many generations as a whole, this counts very seriously. --But then again, what are we supposed to do? Let other humans die when we can save them? Nope.. Or at least I don't think we should.

Human beings do have a natural-born immunity, but it isn't strong enough to defend the body from unknown diseases. For example, the COVID-19 outbreak is estimated to last a long time because it was a completely unknown type of coronavirus to the human body, and would take a long time until our immune system learns to defeat them.
I'm not sure if vaccines are capable of such side effects you have mentioned, but thanks for informing me about them anyways.

A vaccine contains virus or bacteria cells to inject into your body so your body can fight it off and build up an immunity for future infections. A vaccine doesn't do anything except give your body the information it needs to build up the immunity it needs to fight off a potential infection. A vaccine to our body is like a study guide to us before taking a test. The study guide doesn't take your test for you, it just gives you the information you need to pass the test.

The problem may not be the harm old viruses cause directly to us, but the harm they cause to the environment. Those modern amoeba also haven't been infected for a long time, so they don't have great defences against those viruses. Imagine if they could wipe out any important modern species (say any algae, for example) they could infect. Even though we aren't the prey, we could also be affected by the consequences.

Honestly, this reminds me of the “I’m The Grim Reaper” comic on Webtoon. In it a character (not gonna say who for spoilers) has a terminal disease which causes internal necrosis and was nicknamed “scarlet rot” because of the coughing up blood. In the comic a different character in it found new viruses in water from melted glaciers and was experimenting with the one that causes internal necrosis and infected themself with it in order to make a cure because it somehow got leaked outside the lab but died before completing the cure when it reached their brain.

@Austin well i dont have a car I take communal travel vehicles, and I also live on a beach house hat mostly runs on solar battery house in the Philippines so... in terms of both smoke and power emission im on the lower end ...
