Yesterday (August 1) at 5:00 pm, all of Poland stopped for a minute, and sirens were heard all over the country... In this way, we pay tribute to these brave people every year. At the same time, on the same day, 2 Belarusian helicopters probably flew into our airspace, so your words about not repeating history are absolutely on point!

This is Woodstock in Poland. Nowdays is Pol'n'rock. Some say that crowd may have 500 to 750 thousands of people. I think that Sabaton is the most popular metal band in Poland. Becouse of couple songs of Polish history. Try next Winged Husars and 40:1 metal greatings from Poland 🤘
Well if the archbishop himself asks to meet the band after the show and gives them a saber from the national treasury. I think it´s fair to say that they are quite big in Poland.

Sabaton is a Swedish band with a loooong list of history based music.
Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 100 if their songs (not music award, academic, aimed at education of thepublic) .
Sabaton videos are often have dedictions and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but, watching to the very end is frequently well worth it.

Sabaton's songs in Swedish have inspired lots of their fans to start learning Swedish. Lots of the fans want to be able to sing it in Swedish along with the band. The lyrics and pronunciation in Swedish are a bit daunting at first, but just print out the lyrics, and listen to the band sing it, again and again. Pretty soon, you are understanding what they are singing in Swedish.

You have just witnessed Sabaton singing about the Polish resistance in front of, and together with, 500.000 people in Poland. It's hard to be more epic than that, even though there are a lot of epic moments when it comes to Sabaton. The opening song Ghost Division from the same concert will get you hypes as f.

This must have been a older performance, Hannes wasn't the drummer and I didn't see Tommy Johansson one of the guitar player who is great, and one of the best male singers out there, God bless

A few minutes ago we had 79. th anniversart of begining this heroic, however tragic uprising, which ended with 200,000 civilian casualties and 17,000 killed insurgents and 19 000 of Germans, and all city was devastated in 80%. This uprising lasted 63 days, and Polish people fight without great support of alliance.
I am not going to judge this, bacuase who the hell am i to judge decision of people, who lived in this fucked up times, which was World War II. But the most important is to tdraw conclusions, that this tragedy never happens again.
The more so that in Poland we are brought up in the cult of the Armia Krajowa (AK) and we practically never criticize it, which unfortunately does not bode well for us.
I'd recommend reading Thomas Paine's pamphlet Common Sense, written in 1776, which clarified to the American colonists that they were strong, free and could cast off the monarchy. Today, we have lots of people who want to tell us what to do. And it's up to citizens to remain free of that oppression.

The people who claim Sabaton glorify war baffle me. They sing of heroes, they sing of villains, they sing of the common man, all affected by horrific conflicts. Sabaton shows us history. History we are doomed to repeat if we don't learn from our mistakes.

Welcome to the wonderful world of our Swedish History Metal Masters. Enjoy digging into the history with Sabaton. I only have one advice: When choosing a Sabaton video, always look if there is an Animated Story Video present - and choose that. In that case You get the background and aftermath och the story, as well as the music video.

Apparently the youngest nurse in the Home Army was *eight.* I can easily believe that children *willingly* took up arms because I remember being a child. Sure, I grew up in a rural town in the American Midwest (during the last years of the Cold War), but I was also ready to rip throats out over injustice. I picked up every book I could find on being a detective or a spy. I was ready to throw down like my Irish forebearers against the English.

If you generally like the crowd and the atmosphere of this festival, I recommend listening to "Nocny Kochanek - Zdrajca Metalu, Woodstock", a Polish band that basically plays music like Iron Maiden but VERY comical lyrics (unfortunately, in Polish).
"Nocny Kochanek" as a special guest of Sabaton at concert in Krakow in Poland last year. The Polish text is not an exact translation of the original, but is rewritten (from scratch). It's called " Kròtki lont" means ""Short fuse"

As you accurately stated, it is crucial not to forget the past so that mistakes are not repeated in the future. (Hopefully, that contributes to it.) A Sabaton song is not only captivating but downright gripping. Since each song has a real historical background, it always evokes a strong emotional response - it's hard to resist. But that's a good thing, somehow.
Sabaton aims to bring historical events from the realm of oblivion into the present. The fact that they do it with impressive metal music is phenomenal.
Regarding the videos, I would always recommend displaying English subtitles (but you already know that about the lyrics).
Apart from their exhilarating live concerts, Sabaton also creates brilliant music videos. These videos are simply unique. Therefore, I also recommend the following music videos: Bismarck, Christmas Truce & 1916. The last one (1916) is, by the way, a tribute (cover) of the original by Motörhead's 1916... (Caution: it truly takes you on an emotional journey, especially when you read the lyrics in the video...).

It was literally a production level event that had three tries to get it right and something different happened on the first two attempts that prevented them from completing it including a air crash that claimed Poland presidents life. And might have been a political assassination. But unsure.

That the hour of 0, when uprising started. Is very interesting story, because they are not fight between soldiers, that fight was normal people, Mans, Womans and very Young, many people are just teenagers fighting with out proper tools with the full equipped Soldiers.

I love Sabaton, thank you so much for your reaction. I have listened to them since they were a small band, saw them live here in Berlin in a cellar club in front of 40 fans, and last year in our huge Mercedes Benz Arena, which was sold out with about 17 000 fans. Incredible how they grew, but well deserved, imo.

Sabaton is a Swedish band that writes and sings about Actual historic events, battles, moments of heroism and wars, but hey don't glorify war whatsoever.
They released their 10th studio album last year.
Nice thing about them is that their video's never blocked so it's TH-cam safe. (except for some Wacken video's that gets blocked by Wacken)

What you have to understand about the Warsaw Uprising 1944 was that it was the last desperate cry from the Polish nation not to be sacrificed to the Russians. They were trying to show they deserve freedom and not Soviet genocidal oppression. All in vain unfortunately, they were all slaughtered as the Soviet army watched and waited other side of the river for the Nazis to kill the very last one of them.

It is so important not to forget the horror of wars especially WWI and WWII, the horror of fascist regimes; Sabaton is doing a great job on this. Therefore as a German I am shocked to watch nazis win again support by parts of our population and not only in Germany but in (too) many countries. Do they not know that nazis caused the horrible WWII? Do they not know what fascist beliefs include? I can only hope that the democratic forces will not surrender but survive this awful tendency.
